Demigod is one of my favorite albums from Behemoths catalog. That said, I do not want Demigod part 2. That record came out almost 20 years ago. Artists need to grow, expand, and reinvent their sound over the course of their career, and if they just did Demigod part 2, that would be a boring record to listen to. Keep on doing what you're doing Nergal, you don't owe anyone Demigod all over again.
I 100% agree. Music is art and artists evolve. Their art should evolve with them. Especially musicians/artists with vision will grow and their music should grow with them. If you see the same painting over and over again, you get bored.

🤔 Good interview. Not sure what to think about his point on recording the same album because it will bring him back to a person who he doesn't want to be anymore. This is a good inner reflection though.

I love the new album. I think the reviewers who don’t like are on some bad koolaid.
Opvs Contra Natvram is a solid 10 out of 10 in my opinion
I enjoy the album, it's not perfect, I liked it less than the previous 2, but the vast majority of the reviews all amount to "wah gimme Demigod Part 2".
I think reviewers nowadays feel like they need to be “edgy” and if they aren’t criticizing something, then they don’t get as many views. Or they think their opinion is irrefutable truth. I stopped listening to reviewers a long time ago.

Great interview. Nergal is a very intellectually stimulating individual. He is clearly well read and is thoughtful about his artistic pursuits. I find his objective to protect peoples liberties through his art a very noble pursuit. He is absolutely right, the right to protest or criticise religion or politics is enshrined in the law of most democracies. The freedom of speech and freedom to protest and freedom of art are sacred rights in a democracy because they are very fragile.
Donald Trump for instance completely disrespected the freedom of press and freedom of speech by name calling anyone who constructively challenged him or critical questioned him or his policies.
And people don’t realise how quickly those rights we take for granted can be snatched away by one dictator like Trump or a Putin.
The world needs to wake up about the dangers of dictatorships and curtailment of our freedom of speech and freedom of press.
America is in a particularly perilous place with democratic freedoms. Half the country don’t seem to understand the concept and are more gravitated to the idea of embracing a dictatorship and a fascist state. The Republican Party has gone hard right.
And the democrats hard left Bolshevik

Niestety nowa płyta nie jest tak dobra jak poprzednie i brak jej spójności the Satanist. Po pierwszym przesłuchaniu miałem wrażenie że przesłuchałem grupę singli a nie album który ma opowiedzieć jakąś historię. Do dziś ich najlepszym albumem dla mnie jest Thelema 6. Pozdrawiam.

Interesting that he interprets people not being into his art as trying to convince him to change. I like the new album, especially the back half of it, but the negative reviews I've seen didn't have that tone imo.

Wiem, że tego nie przeczytasz. Brak czasu. Jesteś celebrytą i biznesmenem. Wiele razy byłem na Waszym koncercie. Doceniam jak się staracie, doceniam jakość. Zawsze dobrze się bawiłem. Ostatni raz byłem na Waszym koncercie w Sztokholmie. Bilety drogie ale kupiłem bo lubię Carcass (mam tyle lat co Ty, więc zrozumiesz). Mój kumpel z Grecji-metalhead , śmiał się z ceny biletów i pytał czy to na pewno Behemoth i Arch Anamy? Bo na Judas Priest i Ozzy Osborne cena podobna. Wasza koszulka z trasy kosztowala 500 szwedzkich koron. Macoe w dupie fanów- liczy się kasa. Kupilem long save Carcass za 300SEK. Nagraliście średni album i ciągle się tłumaczysz, że każda plyta jest inna, bp się rozwijasz. Rozwiń myślenie czy idziecie w sobrym kierunku.

That awesome but doesn't change the fact that the whole album is very average. If this kind of work would come out from a unknown band u probably would give it just a one listen. Period. And I'm saying that as a huge behemoth fan. Im going to see them live again in two weeks.

Yeah, so I’ve been listening to behemoth for well over a decade and agree… it’s sounds great, but there is really no standout track… it’s a solid effort by their standards… so yeah, truly average… no push to an edge… probably because they have already crossed over… I have an idea for a new album: how about two basses and a guitar doing more soloing instead of just the standard brutal riffing that everyone is doing. I might start listening to “Me and That Man”, because I have been putting that off. Love the new album by Behemoth… got a lot of merch and the signed-Black edition of the album… -hoping for something non-standard from them next time…. It’s possible to be brutal and different.

Jesus Christ is the center of this band. All their symbolism and songs revolve arpund around the one true God. He lives in their heads 24/7. Too bad they arent on the right side.
The Satanist was their pinnacle imo! Albums from Zos to that are all fucking A! New one is meh. Bit better than I love you but still. Luckily there is so many albums they have that I can listen to any day!
