Heather, it’s just by the grace of God that your hands work so beautiful after the accident❤ if some have never seen your hands at the time of the accident and what you can do now they need to go back and watch! You have come so far and I’m so proud of you❤
Amen!!!! My right thumb and pinky have torn tendons that can not be repaired, so their movements are almost none....but through really good occupational therapy I am able to function, it was hard because I am right hand dominant. But this is all by the grace and mercy of God.... I am a vessel and talking testimony of his power and goodness!
And this is why I always watch you..I love the instant potatoe hack to thicken the broth. Why didn't I think of that in 50 years of cooking😂😂😂. Have a blessed and happy and healthy New Year. From our family to yours. We love and pray for you all always. Love Josie❤❤🙏💜
Love you Josie.....my sweet sister! Happy New Year and use that hack! hahaha
❤❤Right!! My husband is a dialysis patient so he cannot eat any tomatoes 😢
I had to laugh when I saw your little inset there about the side of the pan. I was thinking, Heather, scrape that side! Haha. Also, about instant potatoes, my Mom used to make potato soup, when things were scarce in the kitchen, with celery, onion, and water, sauteed in butter first, then she'd add instant potatoes, and it was always so good. Sometimes she'd throw it together and I'd slip home from work for lunch. Just made me think of it.
ohhhhhhh I love that! I need to try that!!!!! I bet that makes creamy potato soup too!
girl, I know! haha I was so annoyed as I edited that video. HAHAHA I am so short and with the tripod and camera, I didn't want to step on my hippie toes and get my big head in the camera. hahaha I swear, if I ever get to design my kitchen, I would bring down the countertops a few inches making them Heather friendly height. LOL Happy New Year, Julie!
Happy new year Heather to you and your family. May God be with you all my love. I’m Christine in the UK. I love watching your channel you have gave me so many tips and tricks and I have also started making bread because of you you also help me in my darkest hours as I lost my son through suicide and pains get very dark. Sometimes I put your videos on through the night and it helps me sleep.
Heather I been making this soup for years. Didn’t realize it had a name lol.. I have been thickening soup with instant potatoes for 45 years. When washing ALL FRUITS & VEGETABLES I add white vinegar just 1/4 cup to my sink full with water. This way it kills the nasty bacteria that can be in them. GOD BLESS HAPPY NEW YEAR from Julie West Central Indiana Farmland
see, I didn't know the vinegar trick! thank you! hahahaha you are a Pro!!!! you didn't even realize it!
Hello fellow West Central Indiana Hoosier!! 😊😊 we are slightly to the north….Crawfordsville!!
@@mimiohnine we live west of Plainfield
Hello sunshine! I smiled all the way through this. 😁😊 The stew looks YUMMY, thanks!
oh I just adore you Jeannie! Happy New Year, Sis! xoxox
I love you sweetheart! You are going to be just fine! God has some awesome plans for you! Muah! @@TheKneadyHomesteader

Simply delicious, can’t wait to try this, love the instant mashed potato trick! Thank you lovely lady!❤
You are so welcome! Happy New Year, Jersey!!!!
Happy New Year to you too!❤
I have watched you for years. You have taught me so much. I also turn to u for comfort watching. You = safety and comfort❤
oh Karen, dont make me cry. Thank you! I appreciate that very much. It's funny because when I need comfort, I come here to you guys and find my purpose. I love you and I hope you have an amazing New Year!
I cook for my husband and I have to keep my seasonings simple. So not just kids. Thank you for this recipe
so so true!!!!
Hi Heather. I love your "bedazzled" rooster. I giggled when you said, "Bucket of garlic." I have never heard of Coddle Stew before, but it looks divine. Have a wonderful weekend, my dear.
Thank you! You too Cindy!💋❤️
I love soups and stews all year round. This one looks delicious. Heather I think you would love Penzy’s spice company. There’s one called ‘Fox Point’ that I finish all my soups and stews with. It is good for so many other dishes too. Thank you for the video.
oooooo I will go search for their website now! THANK YOU!!!! I love seasonings, I am kind of addicted. LOL
@@TheKneadyHomesteader Me too! All their spices are great.
I’m actually making this now! Smells and looks really good so far! I’m using bratwurst sausage in mine. This is the first time I’ve ever prepared parsnips, so I am very excited to see how I like them. I didn’t have fresh carrots, so I’m just going to dump a jar of home preserved carrots at the end when everything else is done, just to warm them up. I also found a big hunk of Parmesan cheese rind that I threw in there also. Can’t wait to try it.
I ordered the USA baking pan. Thanks for letting us know. Soup looks delicious.
SOOOOOO happy you snatched one before they sold out! hahaha they went quick!
This sounds very delicious, tummy comfort food.
Good morning Emily! I hope you give this a try!
I have never heard of coddle stew. This looks really yummy and has given me some ideas for some ingredients I need to get used up! Thanks for posting the video. Happy New Year!
absolutely!!! I hope you give it a try and let me know whatcha think!
This looks yummy. I love easy and delicious. I’m loving your hair.💚
hahaha thank you!!!! xoxox Happy New Year!!!!
Looks delicious Heather! Enjoyed seeing you cook.
Thanks so much! 😊
I’m a senior but (believe it or not) I’d never had a parsnip. I decided after watching your channel to give it a go. Now a fave in soup recipes! Thanks!
Thank you Heather for this recipe. I did not know to add mashed potatoes. Great stew hack! Happy New Year and much Blessings for 2024!
hahaha great trick, right? Happy New Year, Carole!!!!
Sounds delicious! I used Yukon gold potatoes for Christmas dinner…skins on. I’m keto so would switch out the carrots for broccoli or cauliflower, but love parsnips! ❤
oooooo I bet this would be fantastic with switched out veggies! let me know how it turns out!
What are you switching out for the potatoes to be keto?
@@NMWriterofWords I use rice cauliflower or shredded cabbage.
Blessings for you and yours for the New year. Thank you for continuing this journey and sharing with us. God bless. Loving hugs.
Happy new year!! and thanks for being here! xoxo
Good to see you smiling again you and your children have a Happy New Year!
You are so kind... thank you! Happy New Year!!!!
Happy holidays and blessings to your family! That stew looks yummy! I have been using the potato flake trick for at least two decades. Yum
It's a great tip not any know about! haha Happy New Year Katherine!
I love soups and stews.
Old saying. Snow will fall 40 days after thunder in winter. Being in Michigan you're likely to have some before that too. Loved the instant p potato tip. My tip. Thicken tomato sauce with pureed cooked zucchini.
In michigan its 40 minutes 😆😆😆😆😆
That looks fantastic! I think I will make cornbread with mine!☺️🙏❤️
So good to see you again Heather.. ❤
Looks wonderful, thanks Heather!
Thank you!!!!💋🤣
IThat soup looks absolutely delicious. I love putting parsnips and rutabaga in my soups. My kids don't like rutabaga, so I understand having to be creative. This is why I love watching your videos. Because many times I am a visual person. Heather when you laugh you remind me of my cousin, It puts the biggest smile on all who know her. We still don't have snow here in Minnesota either. Although today it was drizzling and there was a sum the vehicles and the roads were getting slick. I am recovering from my virus, Today I did a soup. That was a little bit of this and a little bit of that. It was really good. I forget about when you said use instrumental potatoes as a thickener. What would you use for a Boullion, if you can't use the better than boullion. My daughter gets migraines from it. We haven't tried it for a long time and Christmas time. My son used it and it triggered a migraine for her again. Any ideas? I hope you have the most blessed and amazing. New Year 2024. I also love watching Wilhelms Kitchen. Her recipes gave me such hope when several years ago. My daughter Oliver said couldn't eat anything dairy and MSG. She was of the channels besides you that gave us new life and hope in meals. I learned all about nutritional yeast as cheese. But then we realized my daughter could eat goat cheese.
Just love your variation ❤ hello from Cork Ireland 🇮🇪
Biggest compliment ever!!!!! 😆👏🏼❤️💋 So much love to you!!!!!
@TheKneadyHomesteader glad to see you back Heather , much love to you and your family too ❤️ ❤️❤️

The soup looks delicious, and I never thought of using the potato flakes in it to thicken it thank you for that tip
So good to see you. You look beautiful!! I'm going to make onion stock. That sounds delicious and would be very good when one is sick. Happy 2024🎉 to you and your family! God bless you!❤

Looks yummy! I love soups and stews. One of these days I'm going to have a soup party with my lady friends in the neighborhood.
OK....now that sounds FUN!!!!!!! I wanna come hahahahaha
@@TheKneadyHomesteader You would be more than welcome to have a seat at my table here in Texas.
This looks delish! I never knew that about adding instant potatoes to thicken the stew. I was always taught either flour and water or corn starch and water. Hearing you talk about the MI weather, my mom lives in Bay County and is always telling me about what it is doing at the moment we talk. I miss MI weather honestly. Here in CA we don't see much of a change. Have a blessed New Year!

absolutely!!!!!
Your HAIR❤️❤️❤️ I have seen some things about it on Facebook, but do you have a video on what you do/use?
My new wavy dreads?
@@TheKneadyHomesteader yes!!! Loving the Viking Princess vibes!
I went to buy some parsnips for Thanksgiving, but they they was yellowing. Where u get them? I'm use to fresh veggies at framers Market. But here they said they never eat them. I miss them. Love your channel honey.🎉 happy new years.
Looking forward to trying this recipe!
It's so good! Come back and let me know whatcha think!
You can add a slurry made with cornstarch and water to thicken the soup too!
absolutely!!!!
Your stew looks so good. Happy New Year. I think chili and cornbread are in my future. Love you.
sounds soooo good, Sarah!!!!
This stew looks amazing - will have to try this recipe. Thanks for the instant potato hack for thickening. Happy New Year ❤
I will be making this one with my garden veggies in 2024
YESSSSSS!!!!!!
I never heard of Coddle stew, it looks good, I think I will try this, thank you. I don't like carrot and onion root ends either.
see, I am in good company! haha If you give this a try Linda, let me know whatcha think! Happy New Year!!!!
Looks like aa great recipe😊
Heather, I have found that I can eat meat without my dentures. I'm only 6 weeks into healing & chewing meat with them is impossible. Just add meat & a bit of broth & chop with a stick blender ot food processor. I like the food processor best because you can make it as corse or as fine as you like. Your body needs the protein from the meat. I save any extra ground meat in a separate container & add to my soups as needed. Hope 5his helps sweetie. Love & prayers sent from Texas just for you & the kids. ❤
oh you are in it with me! I have TMJ so my jaw does not meet low enough to really chew much. All part of the accident and I broke my jaw in two places from the head impact. So I am a hot mess. LOL
I LOVE your bedazzled rooster!!! I would love to know where your son got your bedazzled rooster???? Yes, Heather, this has been SO fun!!!! This recipe looks Delicious!!!
Yum! I will try and make this with our fresh ground sausage 🐖 ❤ ty!
Let me know whatcha think!
Your pantry is amazing! Have you done a show on pantry stocking?! How do you make onion stock?
I do have videos on the onion stock.....and none on my pantry. I used to then covid happened and the world went mad, so I took it down for safety concerns but we really need to talk about the pantry! and getting one started or stocked up!
Root veggies are delicious! 😋
they are the best! LOL
Awesome!
Thanks!
Hey there, sweetie! I have a question. The USA pan, does it warp and pop whilst in the oven? Like, my current sheet pans kinda twist in the oven and will pop up on one corner and down on the other, nearly launching light foods into the abyss. I've not been able to find a sheet pan that doesn't do this. I've got USA in most other pans, but just haven't tried theirs. Thanks, and I'm so happy for another cooking video with you!! I do miss them! God bless!❤
NO! I have never had a USA pan twist on me.....I really hate that! I have bought a few that have done that on me, rendering them useless! I like to put a cookie sheet under my dishes, just in case it over flows....like lasagna and roast with the beef juices. I also roast my veggies before canning....we need a straight pan otherwise it will leak out the corner. hahaha I am loving the USA Pans. They are pricey though, so wait for a sale! They randomly put them on sale and if I see one I will share it!
How did you know the veggies on the side of the pot were driving me bonkers. lol It looks so good, I everything needed in my wal mart order. Thank you for sharing! Hugs
🌬❣that's what i was gonna ask if I can use Italian sausage 😊 Xo
Absolutely!!! My kids dont like the fennel.....but Italian sausage is GOOD in this! I like to add a little red pepper flakes and a smidge of oregano when I make it with Italian sausage!
🌬❣Yes I do Heather and I LOVE YOUR HAIR AND YOUR BEAUTIFUL SMILE/ FACE XO

Did your pot come with the glass lid. It looks delicious.
No. Its an extra purchase. I bought it on amazon ❤️
This is in my crock pot right now 😂❤
YESSSSS!!!!!! Tina! hahahaha let me know how you like it, girl!
I added flakes to my pintos and it was delicious. I made beef stew the same
Looks good. I think I would add some zucchini to it.
that would be fantastic!!!!
Can you do a video on mason jar openers
Hi Heather! So, do you think I could can this insteadvof cooking it? I'd follow the USDA guidelines for soups.... 60 mins for pints and 75 for quarts? Have you ever done this and how did it turn out?
hi Heather - what knife did you use to cut that onion? (i need one like that)...i looked at your amazon recommend list but only saw the knife block- i dont think its from that.....tx for the recipe, will try greetings from AU :)
The knife looks like the tomato knife from Rada, I have the same one. Also the knife she used to cut the carrots, definitely from Rada!
Cheryl is spot on! I am a HUGE fan of Rada!!!! They are beautiful knives yet lightweight, so my injured hands can use them. And they sharpen up beautifully!
Here is the tomato knife I used to cut the onion with: amzn.to/47hhSvO
Here is there Rada Cook's Knife I used for the carrots, parsnips, celery and potatoes: amzn.to/3NL1Jb7
@@TheKneadyHomesteader, I have the same two knives, even though I have several sets of kitchen knives, including a beautiful Damascus set given to me by my Son, I only use those 2 Rada knives! That tomato knife is awesome, and the Chef’s knife is the one I use most! Have had them for over 5 years now, the best I’ve ever owned!
@thekneadyhomesteader Did you know that Rada also makes a dishwasher safe tomato knife with a black handle?? My husband bought me two! Love them!
I think you mean you don't save the greens end on the carrots, not the root end.
thank goodness you understood me....my brain injuries really show. It is my most difficult injury to over come. :(
Can you plant the root end of the onions and carrots? Will they grow new onions and carrots?
oooo I dont know? I would try it with my home grown veggies!
I WAS saying scrape the side !!! Haha. ❤
ME TOO!!!!! I screamed at my monitor the entire time I was editing. Drove me nuts! hahaha I am too short and if I leaned over on my tipi toes my big head would have been in the camera. HAHAHAHA these are the behind the scenes filming mishaps that nobody ever sees. hahahaha
Haha. ❤️❤️
Coddle soup looks delicious, but need a written recipe please.
Is it the better than bullion’s full of monsodium glutamate and all kinds of preservatives? It’s a shame to ruin that beautiful stew with adding a chemical… And yes get the vegetables off the side of the Insta pot L O L
you definitely do not have to add its but I thought the better than was the cleanest on the market and the one everyone recommends using? I used to use Tones. LOL But my brain injuries....I can't remember. You dont have to add it though!
❤yum😊🙏🏻❤
You are so beautiful ❤️ XOXO
so are you!!! Happy New Year, April!
Thank you Romans 10:9-13❤
AMEN AMEN!
I’m not sure what all the hype is with the USA pans. I’ve only had my cookie sheet for 1 months and I already have rust buildup on the backside corners of the pan
Heather I don't want to be rude. I cried as hard as anyone when Matt died. I have been watching for years. Why don't you get some implanted teeth or even false teeth. Your face loses it's shape if you don't have teeth so it not only a cosmetic thing but also a health concern. As I said this is not meant to be rude or take anything away from how you want to live your life. Sorry if I intruded.
oh Bev, you gotta go back and watch all my vids Mama! hahaha I am in the middle of major reconstructive surgeries... my big one peeled back my gums and removed, repaired and shave excess bone from over growth (my jaw was broken in 2 places from the head injury/impact in our accident).... next surgery is end of this month. I am getting full dental implants, uppers and lowers, but right now my jaws are healing as they grow bone around the implants. So I can't have anything right now. They made me temp dentures, but because of so much bone removal, they are way too bug..... my dentist suggest just allowing my jaws to heal without added pressure of dentures on them. So I am in the healing phase still. It's a long process, my case was one of the most difficult and challenging they have ever seen..... I have a whole team, 2 locations, best surgeon in the state working on me. In good hands but I am a slow healer with a complicated case. God bless. :)
Oh honey. As I said no judgement. I always remember you as someone who always took their looks to perfection except when you had the wreck and you came to us in the hospital to let us know what happened. Even then you were spectacular. You are an inspiration I was just worried. So no harm, no foul. Love you dear one@@TheKneadyHomesteader
And FYI. I am a nurse just looking out for my sister.@@TheKneadyHomesteader
Yes then you totally understand major reconstructive surgery and the multi levels of healing. Keep me in your prayers as I head towards this last surgery and that my jaw bones are healed enough to get the implant pegs placed. 🙏🏼 it will be another 8-10 weeks of healing after that. My jaw bone has to form around the implants. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
