This gentleman would secretly see Kibaki( may be when his foster dad was no more). Why would you force yourself on a father who wanted you to 'protect his dignity' by not telling people he was his dad. Kibaki was selfish. This man is a victim and he may have to live with that. This battle may not benefit him much.
