You should study the game more so you can understand and learn from the commentators ❤. Her only mistake was the four to the five that’s a big no no for her leave especially since she’s a pro level player
Guess why she's the pro and me the amateur, I would have played that 5 with a ton of draw and left english to get to the 7. Probably would have missed the 5.
Yeah. She was a very good player, but there were hundreds of men vying for the same spot on the professional circuit, and basically no women's game. Her move to pool worked out rather well, with her becoming the top earner on multiple occasions, male or female. A genuine legend of the game, with a rep like Steve Davis and Stephen Hendry.
Louie Roberts, Keith McCready, Mike Sigel, and the rest of those old school players would've done a 2 rail power draw on the 5 to get position on the 7. Allison is a great player in general, and certainly was pleasant to look at too, but she's very mechanical in her stroke and game and doesn't take any risks. That's the main difference in why the men are about twice as good as the women. The women always play it safe so the tougher shots are always tough for them, whereas the men take chances on tough shots and eventually they become part of their repertoire of skill and no longer a risky shot. I remember watching this match on ESPN at the time. It was a good match!
Allison is first and foremost a snooker player.smaller pockets,and table virtually twice the size. Her stroke and stance are as close to perfection as possible. The experts thought it would be years before she would be able to play to pro level 9 ball. WC the first year. I would not bet against her if u put any of the old time players against her on a snooker table.
It's a very short controlled stroke.. and she has a slight pause before the follow through.. I trained with her for 2 weeks in Canada at pool school in 2001.. nice lady

Yes I would say she was pretty good, for about 7 yrs she was the world's #1 woman's 9 ball player in the world. She dominated women's 9 ball play.
