"only an irsihman would leave a girl with a shot like this" ...lol
Tv had a lot of time on its hands in the old days.
Alison was a great ambassador for ladies snooker, and in those days it could not have been easy.
That was great. Shows the camaraderie among the players. Such an absolutely beautiful lady, and her skill was as great as her beauty.
Rare vintage footage, thanks, i'd forgotten that they even held such an event, was this from 85 ? Allison's so lovely, shame for the snooker fans she moved to the states. Can't blame her, no money in women's snooker in the UK and she's ruled the US pool circuit for years, but she is missed over here.
When the announcer said the cockney classic I was half expecting Alison Fisher and Dennis Taylor versus Chas and Dave 😂😂😂
Good gripes, I waited five minutes for her to do that?
what a classy beautiful woman, awesome player as well...glad she made the trip across the pond
I remember The Cockney Snooker Classic, great fun. Allison Fisher was a great player and very attractive.
@eblanaken firstly, Allison was given a start...secondly, if you'd taken the time to read the description of the clip, this wasn't part of the tornament - it was an exhibition frame.
Dennis was very helpful and the crowd had obviously fun.
She's gorgeous and such an amazing player
If you read the description: It's an exhibition frame.
Innocent days. Great fun!
why didn't she just come off one of the side cushions?
+Gee Man
Thats what I was thinking. A simple shot off one of the side cushions and roll it up to yellow so not to leave a pot. Quite an easy shot I would think for a top player.
Yeah that`s 1 option.. I think i`d have hit it full ball and try get the yellow away from the cueball
David Johnson.. Hey genius... that woman who can't "reverse a fucking car for god's sake" went on to become one of the greatest female pool players of all time. And that's not counting her Snooker accomplishments.
That's pure evil by Dennis, planting that shot. :)
"only an irishman would leave a girl with a shot like that "...lol....great line by the commentator.
Allison was and still is a real beauty
@sierraoscar1990 you're right...Peter Ebdon...i'll upload a bit from his match soon
Great video's by the way
Classic Snooker DVD's lol Wouldn't think i'd just wrote a book *Echose of Shildon's past-The first railway town) on sale on Ebay and Gumtree, thanks
Yes. Haven't you seen Ronnie make one-handed shots? I have.
@partridgecaravan more Allison Fisher to come soon !
1993 Steve Davis ans Stephen Hendry. Raising. Dennis was a showmaker with his glasses.
who won the frame?
what a spirit.
You got it
Are you looking forward to the 2011 world champs everyone. Who do you think will win.
@CDeanWatcher ah yes...good spot CDeanWatcher...thanks
How do you define a gentleman?
Iv'e been watching a document about Highclere Castle - known by series Downtown Abbey.
One of the last english upper class properties in UK.
@partridgecaravan new Allison Fisher just posted !!
thunbs up for Dennis Taylor for helping.
she was a cutie back then. she grew into a very classy women
really how?
@delboy723 I'm not sure what year delboy but it would have been 85 or prior to April 86 as Dennis was still W/Champ then....i'll post more Cockney Classic soon
Is it legal in snooker?
I need to learn how to play snooker because that didnt make any sense to me. lol
If that wasn't a push shot, I don't know what is.
It was a foul, but a double hit, not a push. A push is when the cue tip, cue ball and object ball are all in contact at the same time.
@sierraoscar1990 if you subscribe to my channel i will reveal a longer clip of this World Champion soon...but here's a clue: He's only won the World Championship once and remember that you had be from London to enter the Cockney Classic.
So, a one-time World Champ who originally came from London...who is it?
I'm not going to lie, I thought that was going to be rifled into the bottom right pocket.
The pockets are fuckin huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugggggggggggggggggggggggggeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
+chem buster
I remember Dennis Taylor once saying the pockets on competition tables are smaller than the usual club tables, so maybe this table wasn't one they would use in the world championship for eg. After all it was an exhibition match for fun so that could be the reason :)
Double cue?
She’s nice, so was Dennis
i want his glasses :}
@Davewise1965 some more Cockney Classic coming soon Davewise
Correct.
An impossible shot cannot be played. That would make it a possible shot.
Why didnt she try the 1 cushion escape?
and if you miss?
How beautiful she iz....u stolen my heart...
@00woolley ha ha..i actually think it's a 'double-hit', but i know what you mean !!
Thames! Got a bit emotional.
@Tehbrainlessone looooool yea that made me lough ... and i think that was during the time where northern ireland had toubles going on
I which my kitchen table were that big !
Um, like I said ... one-handed. Simply spear the ball with a "poke stroke". It's an overhand shot, similar to throwing a dart. I do it all the time when I can't a shot normally with either hand. It's not as hard as it sounds, especially if you practice. Cheers.
They say only an irisman would leave a girl a situation like that.
It's nice to see a male snooker player playing against a female one; we don't see that very often. Allison Fisher's hair is very Princess Diana-esque, isn't it?
wtf hit the right cushion to roll up on it.why use the rest?
In this clip watch?v=FPoXBgG2bjI&feature=related you can see her build a very nicely constructed century teaming up with Steve Davis in the World Mixed doubles 1993. She really does know how to use a cue.
she's so beautiful !
playing a 1 cushion escape would have surely left the yellow against the side cushion.. and it would have saved all that time
There was us all expecting her to pot it.
Yea to be honest it should have been a push shot. The cue was on the ball for ages whilst it was still moving, it was a very obvious fail.
However all things considered and the way in which they were all laughing, im not sure how serious the match was etc and it looked as if nobody really cared.
Why didn't she just put it off the left cushion and bounce it to the yellow
It would have been easier to do a 1 cushion escape.
if you get the long tackle out she may enjoy trying the hard brown
It sounds like John Pulman.
Alison was hotter than i thought she looked when she was younger
It was obviously a foul, it was a double hit on the white
come on! 1rst is woman, 2nd try a very defecult hit
3 is an exibition game
4 no so clear double hit( i just need 3 times to see the foul) and final don't change dramatical the line.
If it in master game ok Foul, but here logic no foul. is a fun game no a tournament or cash game
101perspective
The description actually says 'impossible snooker shot' unless it has been changed, I agree with it! From poor Alison's perspective it certainly must have seemed quite impossible!
101perspective
I think this is going to be one of those pointless discussions!
God go with you!
Carl Andrew couldn't agree more....yet another pointless 'TH-cam discussion' going nowhere.
1.Yes it was a double hit
2. Do we care? No we don't....it was just a fucking exhibition where the majority of people who watched it found it mildly amusing, but there are always some pedantic twats to be found hanging around TH-cam who will dissect every nanosecond to the 1000th degree.
Yawn !!!
@@kafros4ever2 first it's a women,u do realise she went on to be one of the greatest snooker and pool women players of all time
@MsGhostrider12 Peter Ebdon :)
Wow she was so pretty in her youth
I wouldn't like to say to the 2 stooges and David. Im in Sheffield on Monday and I'm watching both sessions of the final live. I feel like I an blowing my trumpet a bit here. Ding has certainly done well thus far.
what the hell...she cute as shit back in the day...besides being a billiards queen and one of ALL-TIME best.
Don't the rules say that you have to have atleast one foot on the floor? Both feet on a stool should definately be a foul, imo.
'Implements...'
Off the side cushion
4:54 Only an Irish would leave a girl with shot like that ...
but where's the sport in that?? The video had never made it here if she'd done the obvious.
@kingtut147 U should not bother with lame comments. Dont waste your energy =) .. Nice upload
'Long tackle..'
FOUL ! She hit it then the tip rode along the top of the ball for a sec.
boo, i thought it was going in somehow.
@Davewise1965 If you check my channel there's more Cockney Classic action featuring Peter Ebdon's 1st appearence on TV
It can't be a push shot . To be a push shot it has to be in contact with the cue, cue ball and object ball all at the same time. And a miscue isn't a foul as long as the cue ball reaches the ball played ( in this case being the yellow.)
women....
they take everything seriously! play the cushion you %^&*(&^%%*@#!!!! its an exhibition match!
I agree ... you should have used your time better ... maybe learning some grammar perhaps?
It was close to an impossible shot, but it was far from the only shot on, clearly she ought to have played it as though she were snookered. And she fouled.
@@kingtut147 I don't go to parties, they usually clash with scrabble night.
@@kingtut147 Don't worry, I never play for more than an hour, and end it with a soothing cup of hot chocolate to cam my nerves before retiring well before 9 O'clock.
@kingtut147 Sounds good to me.
@CREGGANMAN1 is that suppose to be a joke or are you just thick beyond belief ?
didn't she foul with that miscue?
it would not be safe.
steven hendry
นับถือ แกคิดได้ไงวะลูกนี้
I haven't. Why didn't Allison then. Maybe she didn't know that then.
Or maybe she did that shot jus to entertain the audience.
lol i thought she was gonna pot it
Dear all the comment leavers. You do know that the point of an 'Exhibition' frame is to have a bit of fun, share a few laughs and generally entertain?
Don't take it so fucking seriously!!!!
lol
Thank you, I swear people can be such assholes...so many of them too. Relax people!
