I almost always watch fishing channels for their fishing content. I realized that I watch yours for the scenery. Love the areas that you're able to find and share. Thanks.

Paradise is the operative word. I could fish a gorgeous creek like that even with no trout (well, maybe just one 😉). Thanks Tristan!

Having worked far too much in my life for some time too, I understand - as we warriors age, quality starts to trumph quantity at some point... And that is where the quality of life really starts... for me while fishing 😊

The way that rod bends, I expect bigger fish! Fun times.

I fish in an area where all creeks have big waterfalls, when I explore a creek and reach a waterfall I always have a task to catch something / have a bite or just see a fish to prove that they can get above and I trout always surprises me.
I never find fish in pools between large waterfalls like in your video, trout prefers to get some distance from the edge.
    P. S. My last video is also about fishing above several waterfalls, it is set to be published on Sunday, I didn't catch many fish and I speak in Russian, but it's a very beautiful sub-tropical creek.

Perfect little rod for Adirondack brookies.

Tristan, the old saying certainly applies here: “Location, location, location! I’m in Tennessee, and transplanted browns and rainbows have muscled Brookies into the upper headwaters of their diminished territories. Only natural barriers like waterfalls allow the brook trout to maintain their toe hold. Brook trout have existed in the Appalachians since the ice age, so whenever I catch one it is truly special because they are the native fish here.
    Loved the vid!

If you ever decide to do a book on tenkara fishing, I would suggest you have a perfect cover shot at 4:24. Thanks for sharing this great little backcountry adventure - very enjoyable indeed!

What do you do for fishing licenses in the various states where you fish? I live in central AZ just south of Flagstaff. I may never fish outside of AZ but I’m curious. Love both of your channels and admire your film making skills.

I'm new to Tenkara fishing. I hiked up to an alpine lake and didn't land one fish. I will say I used traditional flies instead of the kebari flies that came with my rod. I tried dry flies, and nymphs. To me the kebari must be heavier so they sink lower, maybe that was my problem ? Should you not use traditional flies on a tenkara rod ?
