My uncle Richard bought a 42 back in the 1980s from my grandparents neighbors in Missoula MT. He drove my Mother and her Sister around to the car wash and then over to the Moose Lodge. They wound up 3 sheets to the wind driving that truck all over town. He brought the truck back to Ca. and worked on it for 3 years. It was absolutely beautiful red over black and chromed to the hills.. He said it took him three years because the chrome strips on the grill took 3 years to locate them all.. My mother is gone now but I still recall the smile and laugh she had when they all talked about that day driving the old Dodge around town. Thanks for the throwback it made me smile!
I love that you're getting these old timers out of the woods and back on the road. I used to look at the "finished" cars and show cars, but love the rats best now. I drive 3 of them. Thanks for your videos!
Life is good when you can find stuff like this . You call it rough you need to come up north to see rough ...just kidding great find I believe your part magician you keep pulling great stuff out of your hat or in your case woods .
man that truck would make a great ratrod !and the Patina on it too ! I think that would be fun maybe that other perkins would be a great engine in that or that 361BB ???
That would help ! I love the louvered lines on the back of the rear fenders it really gives it class where GM and Ford never gave any look at style points ! It looks a lot like 63impalas dodge truck !
Seems hard to find Dodges and IHC trucks anymore. Worth saving it.Nice job! PS I put a second pulley in front of winch to keep cable centered on drum when pulling at angle.
That's a nice find, but I wonder how much of the body and frame are salvageable, and how difficult it will be to find replacement body and frame components/fasteners? I'd imagine that you'd need entirely new axles, suspension as well. But that would give you an opportunity to replace the original suspension and axles with much newer stuff from a donor vehicle or parts catalog, to turn it into a great handling street machine.
The 1940 Dodge 1963impala2dr has and i remember that front end he had in front of his shop. But you sure do know how to work that wrecker to get stuff out of the roughest places
I have a '41 with a 318 swapped into it. This one has to be made before '47. 1947's have vent windows. Which I believe is the only difference. I need a front leaf for my front axle. Can't locate one anywhere at the moment. I'm in NC if you have any leads...
North Carolina is a haven for old vehicles would love that dodge truck would be real cool with a modern frame and about a 500 horse 440 you sure have a honey hole good for you it’s a good thing for snatch blocks do you not have a regular wrecker even one with a wheel lift only on a one ton them fenders are nice that truck is really pretty good shape it’s not as rough the doors up can make some skins for that it’s a beautiful style I love that old truck the good is the fenders on the back the box looks pretty good along with running boards not that bad I’ve seen you do miracles with worse nice find
we has a 41 and a 47 one was for parts and we used the other one, not sure which was which, we actually also has an old Plymouth pickup, that was the only one I ever saw way back then, it was not runnable. . you might ought to get one of those little cordless chainsaws if you are going to be getting many out of the bursh.
Jonathon, 1963chevyimpala2dr here on you tube has a front clip looks the same but not for sure what year it is also not sure if he plans to keep it or if he would let it go. worth asking ya never know. take care friend.
Yes sir my kind of stuff wish more people wanted ta save this old iron this stuff had class not just a bunch of aluminum thanks for the video take care :)
Don't you just love those old military snatch blocks? So much easier and quicker to use than the screw type. Plus they're so overbiult. Makes them weigh a ton.
That top heavy look to the cab is always been my favorite truck. I saw a 41 Chevy, same as the GMC pretty much, here on Craigslist for 700.00 then they took it off and it came back at 1100. It was not in bad shape, Chevy with title. If I had the money and a place to put it, well you know the rest.
Lots of cool old car and truck videos Jonathan. Thanks for posting them. I'm trying to figure out where you are located. I haven't watched nearly all of them, so if you said I missed it.
mine is a "wide" nose off a two ton truck.. the center grill is the same but the fenders are WAY bigger than pickup fenders. (like the big fenders on the back my rat
I was at a show where someone had a '45. Apparently the trucks went into production before passenger cars, and they were allotted to governments and special needs purchases. Sadly, it had been rodded.
Who owns all the property you're rescuing all these rides from? Are they just abandoned? Are you paying for these or just taking them? Really enjoy your channel.
I wish I could find someone to school me on that! I wouldn't know a good one if it hit me up side the head. I think sometimes the editing software reduces quality. It takes 3 hours to upload a 24 minute video, I am just afraid that if the quality is better it will take even longer..

My first ride was a 39 Dodge half ton flatbed! Brings back memories, love your efforts!
In the beginning looks like a nice 57 chevy worth saving too love the cars you save and bring back to life
The 4 strakes on the rear fenders are worth the price of admission. Cool ride!
I love the way you pull stuff out of the bushes...you know your snatch block inside out!!!!
Beautiful score Jon!!!!!
I believe I would carry a chain saw to cut away some of the saplings that are in your way on a lot of the rescues you make.
Pretty rough!!! Ya my thoughts exactly, but I have confidence in you. Still watching.
Life is good when you can find stuff like this . You call it rough you need to come up north to see rough ...just kidding great find I believe your part magician you keep pulling great stuff out of your hat or in your case woods .
I know I'd be carrying a chain saw and a gas powered weedeater with me on all these kind of car rescues. It'd make life a whole lot easier!
man that truck would make a great ratrod !and the Patina on it too ! I think that would be fun maybe that other perkins would be a great engine in that or that 361BB ???
Lets hope the BB is good!

Great save! My first vehicle was a 39 Dodge 1/2 ton.
Learned a bit about snatch block placement. Thanks. Great truck hope you find parts neede
Nice job and great truck. That snatch block is worth it's weight in gold.
Snatch block.
Depends on what it's made of!!
Yeah I guess you're right. When I towed the snatch block helped me out many a time. TFS
Yeah that's what said.

Man! I have been looking for one of those for years too!

Neat, it reminds me of 1963impala2dr's Rat rod build.
Looks like a whole lot of work to get it together, but will be pretty cool if you can invest your time into it!
Jonathon, 1963chevyimpala2dr here on you tube has a front clip looks the same but not for sure what year it is also not sure if he plans to keep it or if he would let it go. worth asking ya never know. take care friend.
Way cool truck! lots of work but all doable!
Did this have a positive ground electrical system?
Yes sir my kind of stuff wish more people wanted ta save this old iron this stuff had class not just a bunch of aluminum thanks for the video take care :)

Make time is right. You got enough projects to last two lifetimes! You sure get to do some cool stuff though.
that truck has a great look,
I have always liked that body style.

You are a master at grabbing cars and trucks out of the worst places. Thanks for sharing.....wonder what they're doing with the chevy cars there?
They were his sisters cars and she passed. He has plans to build one, he has plenty of parts. Only time will tell.
Awesome at least they're getting saved too ...hopefully

What, No First Start in this video??? Darn and so much potential. She'll run dammit.
I'm your huckleberry....thats a cool truck
That new big block you got would probably look pretty good in that truck..... Just saying 😀
I agree

Nice video , Thumbs up.
It's a beautiful thing...a man and his rollback. I would be havin' fun too if I had one of those! How about a first start in 50 years? ✌😂😂
Any plans to get the rest of the cars/trucks there?
He has a lot of 67 to 72 trucks and the two 56 chevys were his sisters, and he said he has plans to fix them.
woot love me some old trucks
WHERE ARE THE OTHER CARS IN THIS VIDEO? ...ARE THEY FOR SALE?
Sure is handy havin a bone yard when it comes to buildin projects.
It looks good 👍
Awesome!
what's the plan for a new drive train?
Hey, Jonathan I have a vision for your truck. Go out and get a '56 Cadillac cut it in half. Then replace the truck bed with the ass-end of the car.
You been watching to much You tube!! HaHa
Naw, it's simply a small world. :o)
Got the makings of a purdy girl there... but, I don't think she'll light off with the first bump of the key.
slicker then owl snot !
1963 impala 2 dr has the front end in front of his shop ,,, maybe a swap is in order?
mine is a "wide" nose off a two ton truck.. the center grill is the same but the fenders are WAY bigger than pickup fenders. (like the big fenders on the back my rat
Hope you keep this one..

These are all bought or traded for from different people.
1939 to 1947 Dodge WC... I have a 46... the WC stands for weapons carrier...

We will see if we can get it fired up.
Jonathan would like like to speak with you about parts, thanks!

yep cool truck
I just hate to see these old vehicles just sitting and rotting away. And have been rotting for many years. So sad.
cool......keep it up
love to see that rat rod...
nice one out of the trees nice MOPAR
Thanks. I picked up a two ton with a great cab and a nice set of 1/2 ton fenders. I appreciate you taking the time to watch.
I am fixing a Dodge 56 panel van rat rod .

Hey Jonathan ... can ya beat this...I got my girl friend watching now....say you're a pretty smart one...LOL
I know where one of these sits or sat near Rustburg Va nice looking truck but dout for sale family owned
Same cabs on the wm300
Prolly be good for some parts.
Modern advertising music drives me nuts...
Maybe I watch too many of these clips but America seems like a vast open air junkyard.
Your slowing down Jonathan, you need more projects to work on.
what about a title? THAT THE BIGGEST THING if not have to use it for parts
if you get a better camera, You will have a lot of subs in no time!!!!!!!!! :)

I need a rat rod body or cab lol I want to do a jeep rod
Classic frog eyed Dodge

Not much left of her
I ended up buying a 2 ton without a bed, so I will be using the bed on it to build a pickup, so it actually worked out great!!
On a farm
