A few years ago I bought a 1986 nissan junior diesel truck..I have learned a lot from your videos and finally managed to put it back on the streets ... thanks Jonathan for the perseverance you transmit.
Jonathan, no matter what anyone says about the definition of a"rat rod". What you are doing is awesome, I love the fact that you are saving some History!! The cars of yesteryear deserve to live again. Well done. I very much enjoy your videos and I have subscribed to your son's page as well. Your a good man sir, keep up the good work.
I'd rather see them crushed than bitched up as rat rods. They are nothing like their former glory as rat rods. This car should definitely be restored to what it was when new. We had one of these back when I was in the seventh grade.
@@richardcline1337 your sentiment is appreciated. We have 26 cars built before 1950. In our pasture, All cars that are feasible to do so are restored to original. BUT, not all cars fit the feasibility test. Those are evaluated (triaged). Thus, some of ours are "Derelict", to preserve the gentle patina which can be stunning. Some are serious Rat Rodded to preserve a slice of history that could not be financially feasible or even possible to restore. We find that many children are drawn to the Rat Rods at the shows. To my brother & I, drawing the children into this hobby is the most important aspect of our "car works". The Rat Rods offer an opportunity for little kids to explore around without fear of inflicting an earth shattering scratch! There is room in this hobby for various ideas. We have one child that was enticed by one of our Rat Rods who is now in mechanic school with the target of primarily rebuilding straight 8s. Education of auto history is rewarding!
For an affordable cruzer , it's definitely there. Especially with two . Hats off to you for recycling , keeping the old stuff going , definitely rat rod !!!!!
Man Jonathan is amazing the gold mines you find I know a lot of people we call it junk but I don't see a junk to me that's better than anyone is spending the day at the mall
HA, YOU GOT ME! I saw 1941 Chev Rescue Number 2 and I immediately thought "Wait... did I miss a video?" I went so far as to go back and look through your vids right past your other 1941 Chev video. THEN I had an inkling what you meant! Your second 1941 Chevrolet! Hahahahaha Fooled me but good!
I don't know if it's just me , but Jonathan it sure looks like you're just movin' along pretty quick lol, must be just the camera ! Thumbs up on another great video . I think if you're looking for something different in next built , this Chevy be just fine !! As long as you got a title !!
I love all these 30's, 40's and 50's cars, but I also love some of those 60's luxo-barges, maybe an ambulance, station wagons, orphan cars and rare oddities. so if you show any, I'd love to see them !
We have several of the '30s & '40s. The '38 & '48 Packard & '51 Buick Hearses have really grabbed us & won't let go. A '53 Pontiac Hearse is now begging us to adopt it.
I have seen a LOT of videos of old cars, a lot. In all the thousands of old cars I've seen in person or in videos, this car is in the most amazing condition underneath for a car that has sat as long as this one has... well, from anywhere that isn't a desert! By the shape of the window chrome it sure seems like that car was cherished for a long time before it got parked. May have even been in a barn/garage for a while. I wouldn't be surprised if this car got parked in the 50's/60's and only got put outside fairly recently it's in such good condition under there.
Those floors are so solid yep I would take parts from the other "41 and work on that one for a build to either put together and get running to sell or a Rat Rod build either way you can't go wrong with a solid foundation like that.
Im from canada they use salt here. Would love to find the cars you do. What you call parts cars we would fix. Thanx for saving this old tin. Great vids!
This one looks like it got most of it's parts, other then the engine! I think the old red Ford and the old Chevy in the back ground might also be a good prospects!
I was thinking you ought too pick up that old 68-72 round body chevrolet in the backround that would make a nice build or a daily driver if not all rusted out if anything the 350 in it if it has one would be good for parts anyway nice video
Looks like a good candidate for restoration , i love to see old cars come back to life and regain their dignity they once had .I hate to see them all chopped up and made into hot rods .
Hi Jonathon, how and why are there so many old cars around where you are ? do folks just keep them?in Australia, we don't do that too many laws against it.
Jonathan, please be careful at those wreck sites on the highways. A policeman was just struck and killed in our area directly traffic at an accident scene. Drivers are so distracted. God Bless, brother.
Y'know I have heard it said that the C in C-10 meant Custom, but the way I heard it the C designation was simply for 2 wheel drive trucks, while the K designation was for 4X4 trucks... Later they changed the designation to R and V I think, sometimes in the late 80's.
I could spend hours in a yard like that just looking around the cars and imagining how much I'd like to drive something as nasty looking as some of those around here, but sadly we don't get any of those here in Ireland. US cars are mostly really expensive
I know it's been a long time ago and I doubt you'll respond buy it looks like there was a dimple in the floor on the second car where they added the heater in the 1st car. Did you see that ?? Or learn more about it ?
Jonathan the cable clamps on the home built wrecker are on wrong unless you have fixed them. A cable clamp has a U bolt and a saddle the cable has a live end and a dead end never saddle a dead horse.
They have been right since day 1. Not sure if you seen them at the wrong camera angle or not, but I learned to never saddle a dead horse 30 years ago. U bolt always goes on dead end
I went back and looked because you are the second to say that. The cable your seen was one that I got off a friend, I forgot all about it, but I have changed it since. I honestly don't think I noticed it when I put it on, he bought them new, but took them right off because the hooks was to big and he didn't like running clamps. I was confused because I forgot and I even went out and looked and it is right, so after searching the videos, I now see what you are talking about.
Im new to this kind of thing but my soon to be husband loves this stuff an hes a great man an had a hard go at it lately i dont really know but id like to find him a cheap truck could someone give pointers on how i can make this happen he really needs one for work and we have very lil money to get him one he can work on them but everything ive found is to much work or cost to much please help if you can

Wow , nice collection of old stuff , I like it !!!
man wish it was closer! love to have one! Always dreamed root 66 fun ride in an old hot rod! thanks Jonthen old cars have soul's!
OMG..that yard had some serious rolling chassis.... great resto material
Love your videos and the salvage of historical cars. Great work mate.
Another great video ! Thanks Jonathan 👍🏻
amazing how good the bottom is...great find
NICE! I thought you were going to open the trunk, and the engine would be in there!! LOL
Love to see you saved another one. that one looks like a good builder for sure. Expecsialy with you having the other one.
Ya, thoughts of heaven were crossing my mind when you panned the area the car was in.
I like it a lot Jonathan. I just like 4 doors. Maybe one day I'll decide I can take on a project like that. Sure would learn a lot.
Pepsi should sponsor you're channel. Works for me also. I like the 41 it is really solid. Take care
Nice find , someone took good care of that car for a very long time very nice car .
man I love your videos I hope you build one of these beauts up soon
Man that is one solid floor! Definitely a good piece to start with 👍
HA, YOU GOT ME!
If this was the next rat rod build, that would be AWESOME
I don't know if it's just me , but Jonathan it sure looks like you're just movin' along pretty quick lol, must be just the camera ! Thumbs up on another great video . I think if you're looking for something different in next built , this Chevy be just fine !! As long as you got a title !!
Cars were built so much more sturdy. Heavy gauge sheetmetal. Nice find
I love all these 30's, 40's and 50's cars, but I also love some of those 60's luxo-barges, maybe an ambulance, station wagons, orphan cars and rare oddities. so if you show any, I'd love to see them !

In Rust we Trust! Nice save!
Love your channel hope to meet u some day
That 41 is like the car in 12 o clock high the movie and the series I have wanted one of those for years.
the Windows being rolled up and sealed kept the floor in awesome shape
Wish that you had time to make something of these 41s, would make great viewing!
I have seen a LOT of videos of old cars, a lot. I dig your videos buddy. Maybe some day ill get down that way to find my next project. This one would be a good one to get ahold of!
That is a nice car for it's age and seems quite complete. The lot you got it from seemed packed with old rides.
Those floors are so solid yep I would take parts from the other "41 and work on that one for a build to either put together and get running to sell or a Rat Rod build either way you can't go wrong with a solid foundation like that.
Seeing the beginning, I never thought I would write this, but the car is in much better shape than meets the eye.
Now this gem will make a project!
Looks in pretty fair shape...My '38 was the same dark blue originally too.
wow! that is fast! schooled! i wish we lived closer. it would be interesting.
The windows being intact and up sure did save those floors.....
I had forgotten about ash trays on the back of the front seats. As kids we always put our chewing wrappers in them.
You should work a deal on the entire lot of them. Person has quite a collection.
Amazing find worthy of restoring
Ha! Works for me too! Good one Jonathan!
Im from canada they use salt here. Would love to find the cars you do. What you call parts cars we would fix. Thanx for saving this old tin. Great vids!
That a very good car to restore, EBay car for sure
Nice old Chevy.
When you go through the vehicles you buy for the first time has anything ever jump out at you or tried to bite you?
Looks to me you're one of the luckiest guys in North America...
He sure has some contacts!
Is that guy looking for a new bestiest buddy? he has the cool cars for sure.
Can’t believe the clean frame
Nice old car, good save.
I agree!
Ya, looks like it could be restored wow great save.
wondering why you don't use your "T-bar " in conjunction with roll back...or at least tow a car carrier, when you go on multiple car pick ups?
Do you come across 41 chevys often? What is the price and where are you located
Well dang! Maybe I had a premonition? lol! That car is definitely in good shape. Did the engine ever free up on the other '41?
Someone was smart enough to put the parts inside.
This one looks like it got most of it's parts, other then the engine! I think the old red Ford and the old Chevy in the back ground might also be a good prospects!
Nice solid old car. How do you keep finding this stuff. I need to start hanging around with you. Lol
I was thinking you ought too pick up that old 68-72 round body chevrolet in the backround that would make a nice build or a daily driver if not all rusted out if anything the 350 in it if it has one would be good for parts anyway nice video
Anything you want can be a rat rod....There are no rules! Great old car, Thanks
Jonathon what ya take for that Va. plate?
Looks like a good candidate for restoration , i love to see old cars come back to life and regain their dignity they once had .I hate to see them all chopped up and made into hot rods .
Hi Jonathon, how and why are there so many old cars around where you are ? do folks just keep them?in Australia, we don't do that too many laws against it.
One man's trash is Another's treasure!
I'm hoping one of these cars may be for sale .
Jonathan, please be careful at those wreck sites on the highways. A policeman was just struck and killed in our area directly traffic at an accident scene. Drivers are so distracted. God Bless, brother.
Those pre war cars are really getting hard to come by what was it 42 to 44 chevy did not make cars because of the war or was it 41?
I'd like to see it original, but a big chevy 454 would be nice.
That '41 & the other 1 would make a fairly good build for 1 good car for sure. I hope someone will try to build them. = )
I would like to have that Monte Carlo sitting there
Is that the one you robbed the dash out of for the roadster?
Good paint job would help to...John
Nice find
Those who can't do what you do complain the loudest. Just ignore them.
Ever run across any Chevy Fleetlines?
I want that license plate. lol
Y'know I have heard it said that the C in C-10 meant Custom, but the way I heard it the C designation was simply for 2 wheel drive trucks, while the K designation was for 4X4 trucks... Later they changed the designation to R and V I think, sometimes in the late 80's.

I love to have it up here in Canada
Johnathan is the tow Master
Do you sell any of these cars. I'm in canada
Would you sell this vehicle by any chance?

Thanks its a pet peeve of mine because I have seen what can happen. I really enjoy your videos,
Did you leave a fender behind?
Nope, got both!
If I was back home in NC I would grab it and put it on the road
Plop that on a long bed Dakota frame. Bam! Next one day rat rod build.
I like your videos better than roadkill you should have a show
Sweet!
hw much did u pay?
WORKS FOR ME

A 270 GMC would fit nice in there
There sure are a lot of Mercurys ........
that would look nice if it was fixed up like original but that would take a lot of money.
Yeah,
A tow video. I was kinda missing them. LOL
Larry W.
I could have sworn that that was a corpse in the trunk!
