You made me laugh. I use to fish at a park with my dad and he would get mad any time people tried to talk to him. He once asked a guy if he knows how to swim. The guy left him alone.

My husband passed recently, age 60, to young to have gone to be with those who passed before him. He was a truck driver from Georgia, and for 40 years he’d be gone for week at a time, I still like he’ll return soon. Anyway I gave him a copy of your music to play on the road. Til the day he died he was ever so grateful for your music and message, now he’s my “Old Ghost” I suppose. We truly appreciate your songs, thank you.

OMG Travis! I rarely comment on any social networks....I mostly just read others comments and feel like a stalker sometimes doing that. But I had to tell you thank you for this video. I'm going through some "stuff" right now, and this video made me laugh until I cried. So, maybe you're not singing here, or sharing your lyrics, but I wanted you to know that you brought some light into my life tonight, and boy did I need it. I also love to fish, but have not had the pleasure of doing it for a long while. Eventually I'll get back to it, and when I do, I know I'll think of this video every single time someone even looks like they are coming near enough to me to talk. I'll probably end up laughing at them, and not tell them the reason when they ask....just let them think I'm bonkers. Hopefully they'll be afraid of me and run away (fingers crossed). And I'll just keep on fishing and not really care rather I catch or not. I just want the peace. I hope you figure out a way to deter the rascals that bother you.

Hey Travis, I know you probably get messages like this all the time. my dad recently passed. he was 60 years old, he had shown me your music when we went fishing out in the summer, his favorites were first cigarette, and sideways. specifically he mentioned how sideways made him emotional and always reminded him of his father, who passed when I was 13. I never quite understood why it meant so much to him, and I remember him saying to me "you'll understand one day" and in august of 23' my father got diagnosed with aggressive stage four esophageal cancer, I had never seen my father cry, him telling us he had it was the first time in my whole life. and, on October 6th 2023, he was gone. my father was probably the most significant person in my life. and it has been extremely hard. I'm 16 now, and I understand what he meant now. that song has been one of the only things getting me through it, that's a long story but all I wanted to say was thank you. thank you for leaving me with a lifelong connection to my father, and thank you for creating such a beautiful song. thank you Travis.

Isac4036 I really appreciate you sharing your story with me. I’m very sorry to hear about your dad. What a gift you had, and 60 is so young. I’m really sorry. You know the only man that ever broke my heart line is actually because my dad was rarely around and when he was it was short and sweet. It sounds like your dad was a constant in your life. That is incredible. Maybe one day you will be a dad and you can pass on what you learned from him. Life whirlwind fast and we get one time around the block. Make the most of it. Love hard and fierce. Cry hard, laugh hard. Marcus Aurelius. said love with the window of your soul open to the sun, for one day the sun will set, and you with it. 16 is young buddy. You have a lot of living to do. I can tell you how much this message meant to me. God speed young riser-

Hi Travis, when i was 16 i was the shyest introvert you could meet, and i didn't understand how it was that the thing i enjoyed doing most, the thing i lived for, was to climb on stage with my guitar, stand tall in front of a mike stand and sing my heart out. And want people to listen to me. My trouble came when i put my guitar down and went to the bar. If somebody talked to me i wanted to run away.
I'm 76 now and still i'm shy and as you say hide behind my guitar. But over the years I've heard many artists actors musicians who have exactly the same conundrum.
So i don't know if that helps, but just to say you're not alone 🙂.
Your music, your words, your guitar are all beautiful.
Stay positive. We love you 🙂🎸

Amazon alexa played asked if I wanted to hear music I have never heard of before. She played you, and I sat down on the carpet of my tiny kitchen and listened for an hour.
I'm off and on suicidal for lots of reasons. What you do I dont have words for. I am not a poet. Please know, you are a gift to me. A divine one. Thank you🌹

    Hello Sir,
I just found your music through an interview that you did with Andrea Stolpe. Your story is such an inspiration to me. And, you songs have touched my heart.
When I was a little girl, I wanted to be a singer and play music until someone told me I couldn’t. It took me 40 years to finally sing in front of people. I can perform vocally on stage and be fine. I started that at 50. Now, at 56, I’m just starting to song write while learning to play guitar. It’s the most terrifying thing for me to do…sharing my thoughts through writing my own songs and my horrible guitar playing. You have helped give me courage to keep on going even though it probably won’t go anywhere. It’s just something I have to do.
    Thank you

Thank you for sharing. Truth be told, the only way to find joy in it is to do it for you. Write songs that are important to you. Sing for you, perform for you.
1 in a million get heard. 1 in two million make money. If you are doing it for any other reason than to express yourself creatively, it always leads to resentment. I’m sure secretly we all have a part of our brain that wishes and hopes that we can make money and maybe become famous.
I don’t write hoping Kenny Cheney will like my songs. I write songs that I love, and if Kenny likes it is great cus I could use the money. Haha!
I have resigned myself to make music for the sake of music. That has to be enough. Anything that comes from that is a wonderful gift, but I never expect it. When I die, I will be able to look anyone in the eye and say, without reservation, that I wrote songs I loved and I am happy about them. And that is truly the greatest gift.
If nothing ever happens, I’m OK with that. I never got into music from running. I got into music for the love of music. Be true to yourself tell the truth and write about what you know and you will be able to sleep at night with a clesn conscience. Good luck to you. I’m proud of you Keep going. You are an inspiration and I’m proud of you. - T

@@Travismeadowsmusic Oh my…thank you for your response and sharing your wisdom. I’m honored. I love music and it’s always been in me. At this stage in my life, being able to freely express myself gives me so much joy. Seeing what I can say or sing is part of me that I have hidden for so many years it just feels good to be true to myself regardless of what people think. Hearing your story and listening to your music has affirmed that for me. Many blessings to you and thank you for your wise advice and words.

I remember when I spotted you in the movie Wheeler, I was excited as when you came to Riverside Ca. And I met you. The clarity of the words in your songs sold me. Understanding what a singer is singing is important. I bought all the albums you had. I played them for those who might not have like that genre and they were surprised, they really loved you. You are a beautiful person. Thank you

I’m a huge fan and a fellow songwriter and it just so happens that bass fishing in local ponds near me is my other passion. I’m in L. A. so the park lakes are heavily pressured. Still, l can kind of block out the world and get a lot of song ideas when l’m fishing. Love you and your music, Travis.

I have a friend who ignores people if he can't see them (has his back turned), but if they have the audacity to touch his shoulder to speak to him, he uses sign language, and they leave him alone. I don't know if he really means he tries to make them assume he's deaf, or if he gives the middle finger, but either way, it works for him!

As a BK amputee I find fishing in my kayak to be a break from reality. I was such an avid outdoorsman before my accident. Far too often people want to pull up and "commend" me on my dedication and motivation and while I find it flattering, I just want to fish 😂😅. I get you bud! Grow the beard and fish! 🎣
