    Here is a few techniques to counter one of the most common street fight moves. Based on statistics and human anatomy, we can predetermine with good certainty what punch is going to be thrown. And these techniques that I'm teaching work great in a self defense situation. The only exclusions, or techniques to be wary of are if your opponent throws an uppercut or a knee strike.

      That's what ring matches are for. Street fighting is insanely dangerous, no matter how hard you have trained. In a street fight, the guy you are fighting might well have a friend with a gun. You can clean his clock and still wind up dead. Do NOT street fight if you have any way to avoid it.

    Something I've found is when someone is tryna alpha up on you and they're taller, and they're getting up in your space; one of the best moves is just a quick headbutt to the tip of his nose. It will deliver force directly to his brain and stun if not knock him out, be careful however because it can kill with enough force. A light smack will have the enemy on the floor.

      @alexthegreat1233 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      About the fact that it's open yes but you could probably modify it so that's it's not like ippo is currently doing. And second they didn't say he was punch drunk they just said he was broken. Maybe he just lost his confidence or something since he's been out of the ring for so long. At least that's what I hope because he still has so much to do.

    • @MtnBadger
      @MtnBadger 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@manartdesign340 That's the mistake most people make. Just because you're big, doesn't mean you have power. If your technique sucks, you have problems and you can lose. But I'd you have size *and* technique on your side, that's an advantage. But you have to learn new (and sometimes very old) defensive techniques to be able to get past the little rubber people who have all the speed and technique, they'll chop you down if you're not caresful.

    A little risky. Street fight sucker punch tends to be a hooking kind of shot, often originating at waist height and up. You're not ducking into that line of fire without getting hit. It's safer to crash to the opposite side of the punch and look for the boxing pocket. Reality is usually that you don't have time anyway.

  • @guilhem3739
    @guilhem3739 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you are not use to fight, there is no way that you would have the reflex to duck and counter attack after a right hook. The better strategy is to try to protect yourself (hands are high, elbow remain along the ribs, lower your chin, and try to expose the less surface as possible by moving forward your minor foot and by bending a bit your knees) and absorb the energy. If you managed to ward off the punch you have several options depending on the situation: 1) run (the one you should choose), 2) counter attack (if you know how to and where you should aim to finish the fight). If you can't do one of the previous option 3) keep the position for a possible other punch and back to options 1) or 2). Try to finish the fight (by flying away or by getting rid of your opponent) as quickly as possible. Again the best option is ALWAYS to try to run away in case of an attack. You don't know who is in front of you and what he is up to (pull out a weapon for example ...).

    Hey Shane, I'm a novice at all of this. I've been doing some light sparring (very little contact, 10% power tops), but what I'm having trouble with is opening up someone's guard to get a good line to their head. I've been relying on almost exclusively body shots at the moment, because it seems easier to fake to the head and go to the body, but I feel like if I had to do this in the streets, and I wanted to end it quick, I would have to go to the head at some point. Can you do a video about how to make opportunities for head shots, especially in tight spaces? This might seem weird, but most of my sparring has been in extremely tight spaces, so moving around is hard. Thanks!

    I like your videos mate but with this one it is specifically made for someone fighting a novice. Anyone who knows what there doing is going to start with a jab to create an opening or maybe a lead hook. Also I wouldn't recommend ducking or rolling under a shot in a street fight because if by chance the guy has had any training he could follow it through with a quick knee. Boxing is great and I love the sport as I've had a few amateur fights myself but it is intended for a controlled environment with rules and a ref and it isn't intended for a street fight so head movement probably isn't the best defense. Like I said I really like your videos so I'm not hating or anything just putting my opinion out there as I've had a fair bit of training in different styles of martial arts and boxing. Keep the vids coming bro and stay well

    personally i think knowing to grapple is really good for a street fight, everyone always talks abt throwing hands but nobody talks abt how if u did even a little bit of wrestling in high school its wicked easy to duck a punch and immediately slam them on the ground

      if youre getting jumped, and you can't run try immobilizing one of them (I would go for a really strong kick to the knee) at least then it'll be a one on one between you and the other guy

    • @NaruTheBlackSwan
      @NaruTheBlackSwan 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you're getting jumped, kick one of them as hard as you can in the nuts and run away.
      Alternatively, if you expect them to be unarmed, flash a knife and that'll scare them off.

    There's an even better defense against the haymaker: Shoot in and jam the punch with your hands or forearms, ideally at the shoulder and the bicep. Finish off the assailant however necessary.

    You should also mention: develop a great jab. A jab can be truly punishing and it's safe to throw and doesn't burn alot of energy.

    Once you got side, the guy will try and turn to face you most of the time. Just turn with him and get the momentum going, and from there it'll be super easy to do the sweep you demonstrated. It's one of the first Judo moves I learned.

    punches to lower spine or a knee is the worst shit i have done to people in a fight they practically cant stand under temporary paralysis. but this could aslo kill or permanently damage someone as i had done it twice to two different guys and felt bad as they had to see doctors for sciatica. one of the guys brothers threatened to kill me as it caused his bro severe pain and doctor appointments.

    The most common punch in a fight is the "sucker punch"..comes from the hip. Its fast and invisible..the best way to defend against it is to keep your distance.
