Since Stella Di Campalto is getting more and more expensive, do you think that Gorelli is going to follow the same path? Have you tried Gorelli's rosso and Brunello?
I'm loading up on bottles from the Loire Valley this year. All about that 2022 and mainly looking to buy to drink now. I don't cellar things. Life is too short and I'm not a wine investor. Anything I purchase is being consumed within 12 months of purchase time.
If I were to try to drink everything I've bought within 12 months of purchase, I'd be in big trouble. I've currently got around 275 bottles, most of them unique sitting in a dark, cool spot inside my house.
Such a wonderful job you are doing with the channel! Lovely that Stella was magical for you this year. I’ve loved her wines for 10 years. She’s nearly the only producer whose Rossos can be exhilarating!
Thanks, Agnese. I have been drinking Pouilly Fuisse and northern Rhones for years: they are, or have been, great value. The '14 Pouilly Fuisse and '13 and '15 Cote Roties, Crozes Hermitage and Cornas are drinking beautifully right now. I discovered grower Champagne a few years ago and they provide about 90% of my Champagne buying nowadays: Brochet and Camuset are particularly good examples. Another good value, imho, is Cru Classé Beaujolais.
Rioja whites are absolutely awesome. If its difficult for somebody to buy Viña Tondonia blanco, go for its lower range white which is called Gravonia, its also really good, but its becoming difficult to find also
One of my most memorable wines from last year was a 2016 rosso di montalcino from il marronetto. What a wine! Can only recommend adding some of their rosso or some of their brunello to your cellar. The rosso is 22 months in oak and outperforms some of the big brand brunellos easily.
Thank you for your video & information. Living in Australia, we love our Shiraz (Syrah) but it’s always good to hear new suggestions. Cheers from Melbourne 🍷!
I always have liked this grape, but I think only lately I have discovered the magic behind it. It is definitely something I want to explore way more this year! 🙏🏻 Cheers! 🥂🍾
Cellar focused for use in 5-10 years. Champagne (growers); Txakoli; and chasing some excellent representatives of varietals: Bardolino (Corvina and Rondinella), Teran, Trnjak, Agiorgitiko.
Happy New Year from Rome, Agnese. You look very elegant. I'll be looking into some 100% Sangiovese Nobiles from Montepulciano. I have a feeling they will soon go the way of the Brunellos and it will become harder to find reasonable prices. Cheers!
Great choises! As I'm going to Aussie very soon I would love to have a Penfolds in my cellar and also I'm planning to go to Champagne so I would love to have some great things this year!
Huge fan of Saint-Joseph. Reds and whites…. Great value for quality. And, champagne is champagne, I’ll always have a bottle or two in the fridge….. sounds like you’ll have plenty to drink this year 😎😎.
Great year, Agnese! I think I'll be moving my expenses toward tastings this year, and saving for Diploma. If there's one thing I enjoy more than wine, it's learning about wine Quite a lesson on white Rioja. I had just taken my WSET3 exam in Haro, so I could then relax and actually explore the place. I went to this wine shop in the main square asking for white Rioja, and they looked at me like this 😬. It's just THAT difficult to get your hands on white Rioja nowadays. Well, I'll have to scratch my pocket for it.😂
Very smart! It is always best to invest in Your self, and education certainly is up in the top spot! 🙌🙌🙌 That is true about the white Rioja, it was also difficult for me to find it in the region itself! 😓
Well done ! indeed, vintage champagnes prices have gone up into the stratosphere, I only buy the NV cuvee's for immediate consumption. I recall spending ~$50/bottle back in the day for 1982/90/96 Dom Perignon's which are still drinking beautifully TODAY and I thought that was crazy prices ! What do I know ?
50$ for a Dom? That sounds wow 🤩 , and yes, these Champagnes are drinking very nicely now! 🙌 yes, unfortunately I do think that they will continue rising, but hopefully I am wrong. 😔
@@NoSediment The other region where prices have gone mad is Burgundy... I feel guilty opening any of my Grand Cru burgundies by GRoumier, Dujac, Vogue and others... SIGH.....
The algorithm somehow sent me your way and I find the wine hobby and your talk about champagne's price increases fascinating. However I have to admit I only have a bottle of Aldi 18,99€ rosé champagne and a couple of Wolfinger Cremant d'Alsace (which I bought on sale for 8,99€ a bottle) in my "cellar" (it's a couple of racks in my kitchen). Different worlds colliding. LOL
Don’t have a lot of experience with Pouilly Fume. Had the Fume Blanc at Mondavi decades ago, which did not like. This wine, Domaine du Bouchot Pouilly Fume MCMLV 2021, sounds interesting. Have not tried though.
I'm personally buying: 2008 ( maybe 2012) Champagnes, Armagnac, Canadian Whiskies, Some of Cotes du Rhones, 2018 CHile,( waiting for 2022), 2019 Argentina, 2013 Niagara Icewine, and last but not least Tokaji Aszus ( prices have already gone up and I am NOT happy with it haha). If I see Bordeaux Reds that I like, yeah might grab a bottle or two since the price of Burgundy has shot up that it makes Bordeaux looks like a bargain.
Cooler climate Syrah is my favorite, and so I was excited when VinePair awarded their best wine of 2023 to a Syrah from a winemaker who farms just 12 acres opposite Hermitage: Domaine Romaneaux-Destezet Hervé Souhaut Syrah 2022. I was able to find a few bottles in a shop near me. Opened one (loved it) and will be on the lookout for more in 2024. Affordable and fun.
I will be buying whatever 2020 Chablis from Domaines Gilbert Picq and Louis Michel I can find and hopefully afford! Also some 2022’s which are just entering the market here, from them and other makers. As well as some Pouilly Fuisse from Roc de Boutires which isn’t heavy handed on the oak. Also Chenin Blanc, from Vouvray, Anjou and Saumur. And finally some red: Cru Beaujolais, especially Morgon and some Saumur Champigny by Roches Neuves. I will try and track down some Rioja Blanco, thanks to your tip, but not much is imported into Australia.
I love that video lists like this continue to leave off German Rieslings. Keeps them affordable. Not so great for the producers, in fairness. Still,…. I also love that your dog features in your videos. :)
Let me know in the comments which wines you are planning to buy in 2024 for your wine fridge, cellar, or collection! 🍷
I just bought a bottle of Chateau Musar 2017, and I wish you could say something about Lebanese wine.
Since Stella Di Campalto is getting more and more expensive, do you think that Gorelli is going to follow the same path? Have you tried Gorelli's rosso and Brunello?
My goal is to add more riesling this year.
What about Portuguese wine?douro valley wine?

I think that is very wise! I also do not buy wine for investment. I buy wines for myself (investing in future self). ✨🥂 Cheers!

Great addition, I think Cru Beaujolais is very underrated wine! Thank You for adding this to the list! 🙏🏻🍾🍾
Grand cru Beaujolais can be amazing and rival the rest of burgundy for much less...
This is the white wines era! Thanks, Agnes. I love your channel! Hope to see you in Jerez soon!
Actually, I have a short trip in mind in the spring! 🙌🙌🙌
Very amazing selections.
Thank You! 🙏🏻 I have to prepare the one for the 2025 now. 🫡
Rioja whites are absolutely awesome. If its difficult for somebody to buy Viña Tondonia blanco, go for its lower range white which is called Gravonia, its also really good, but its becoming difficult to find also
Great wines, I agree! Yes, I think Gravonia is also strictly sold on allocation now. Just as their rose wine. 🥲 Very unfortunate for us! 🤤

Thanks so much for the video. Have you ever done a collection/cellar video?
Thank You! 🙏🏻 Yes, there are several videos out there by No Sediment on this specific topic. 😊 Hope You find what You are looking for.
@@NoSediment thanks. I mean, showing us your collection/cellar?

Impressive list! I cannot keep Champagne for too long in my wine cellar, unfortunately. 😅 I keep opening the bottles! 🙃
Haha awesome! Stella was also my favourite Italian wine of the year for 2023
That is so great! 🙌 We are on the same page! ✨😅

No!!!!! Don’t say that!
I think it might be the case! 😓
I’m lucky still to be holding a case (6) of Stella,s 2007 Bunello. Her Rosso is very close to some of the best Brunello.
You are very lucky! And I would go even further, her Rosso is definitely better than certain Brunellos! 🫣
Great choises! As I'm going to Aussie very soon I would love to have a Penfolds in my cellar and also I'm planning to go to Champagne so I would love to have some great things this year!

Thank You for Your comment. I think nowadays it is much harder to find 2008 vintage Champagnes, but this vintage did produce great wines!
@NoSediment I can still find some 2008 champagnes in my area. I still needa get Delamotte 2008.
Like that style on you x
Thank You! You are so sweet! 🙏🏻
Thanks for not mentioning my favourite wineregions. Now I have more for myself!

I try. 😂😂
It’s bad for my bank account lol.
How much is the Stella Brunello?
Unfortunately it is not cheap wine, it can be several hundreds! 😫
Valpolicella, Gavi, Barossa Valley Shiraz, and Chilean Carmenère
Great choices! 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Just ordered a case of 13 Dom. Thanks for the report. How about 14 Cristal?
Do be completely honest, I have missed the 2014 vintage somehow. 😓 So I cannot tell! 😑
@NoSediment I have 7 bottles of 14 Cristal. If you are in Southern California, please come try. Just bought a case in December. Hopefully a winner

Ah yes, the Côte Dior. Sits right under the Côte de Chanel.

Unfortunately, I think it is already out. At least amongst wine professionals. But maybe You are right, i should have keep my mouth shut 🤫
£300 per bottle Brunello 😬
And it is not the most expensive one! 😑
You can get much much better Brunellos at that price. 100% not worth the price.
who is this ? 😒
Is there something bothering You?
