    Hi sir. first of all, thanks a million for this pretty informative video. Some teachers talk about two concepts to be employed in a listening lesson such as top-down and bottom-up strategies as the learner's understanding is fundamentally based on them. could you please say something about how can we implicitly integrate them? and in which stage it would be rational and suitable? MANY THANKS AGAIN.

      @RACHIDSLIOUAT  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're welcome!
      Try to be creative, dear Louiza!!
      Look .. if you focus in your listening lesson on vocabulary, ask students to use them in their own sentences (written or oral), students can also be put in groups to discuss .. a writing activity can also be used. So it all about the topic, the level of students and your creativity.
      Good luck, dear ❤️💐

    I teeach en listening to one of my students like that:first listen carefully then repeat,write new vocab and phrase on the board and some times we preactice speaking according to listening,this method is true,what is your opinion?
    I teach tactics book(basic)by the way.

    • @RACHIDSLIOUAT

      Very good. Integrating listening in other skills or language components is a great way to make your lesson successful. I did not get exactly how you proceed, but generally it's to integrate listening in your teaching. 👏🏻👏🏻💐🤍❤️

  • @sallywhite2531

    Thank U for your precious efforts.But, What's the purpose behind only listening without doing anything?!Here they would be off task!

    • @RACHIDSLIOUAT
      @RACHIDSLIOUAT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How did know they would be off task!!? No!! I don't think so.
      Do we always listen and do something?! We normally listen to comprehend. So, having students listen (the first time) without doing anything is a way to aquaint them with the dialogue/text/.. they are listening to. Also, to make them focus on understanding and get prepared for the related tasks.

    I watched from Iran many thanks Mr Rashid. But one question, my students even after several playing of audio although they know about the content, they don’t know how to respond them and they keep silent . They don’t know how to collect the datas and put them as an answer. How can I deal with this issue?

    • @RACHIDSLIOUAT
      @RACHIDSLIOUAT  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My great pleasure, dear Maryam. ❤️🤍💐
      Well, in your case, there must be a problem!! And this problem, it's you.. only you.. who can figure it out. It can be related to students motivation, students interest, students level (the content you bring is beyond their level) .. or probably related to the frequency of listening activities in your classroom.
      So, you should know the source of problem first in order to solve it.
      I advise you to bring easy content.
      Conent that interests students.
      Increase the frequency of listening activities in your classroom.
      Motivate students by rewarding them.
      All the best dear ❤️🤍💐

    hi again teacher. please tell in one statement or two how i can integrate listening in another skill as u said in stead of dealing with it independantly. jazak Allah

    • @RACHIDSLIOUAT
      @RACHIDSLIOUAT  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For example, I teach present simple. In presenting, I may have ss listen to a dialogue, for example, and complete sentences on the board. Based on those stcs you build up your lesson. You can also use it for concept checking, etc. Integrating listening is really beneficial.

      You can integrate at the production part. ❤️🙏 You are teaching listening. When you reach the practice stage, you can ask them to write a summary of what they listened or ask them to write their opinions.

    • @ImaneAouragh-f5r
      @ImaneAouragh-f5r ปีที่แล้ว

      You can also integrate it in teaching reading through videos. In the pre-reading stage use a video with its tasks (pre-watching/ while-watching/post-watching). They watch/listen and discuss. And hey you should pause the video every now and then to ask a question or two so as to engage your students and create some suspense ( your Ss will be like oh no plz teacher let us keep watching we can discuss once the video is finished)
      You can do the same with writing as well.
      Listening should always be somewhere in your lesson.
      Si Rachid, you’re an inspiring teacher.
