I'm just cutting the pattern now and got some great tips from this. Thanks for the video 👍
Hi Hayley, your jumpsuit looks fantastic. I have had this pattern since it was released, now you have a sew along I’m going t get it out and follow along. I started a shirt for hubby so as soon as I am finished with that I will make the Seachange. Thanks so much. Val ❤️🇨🇦🇬🇧
Oh yay, so happy I've inspired you to sew it up!
The jumpsuit looks fab Hayley. I loved the tips Charlotte gave when I did one of her jeans classes.
Thank you Sheelagh
Love this jumpsuit I’ve just purchased the pattern and cannot wait to make one. Thank you for your hints and tips I definitely don’t think I will put the pockets in and I’m going to lengthen the facings because even when I snip into the curves and understitch I still find facings want to misbehave lol xx
Haley,
Regarding seam allowances … this is my understanding … early on, seam allowances (SAs) were not included in patterns, this allowed the sewist to chose whatever SA desired. (There are a handful of European pattern companies that still release without SAs.)
Home use patterns caught on and the American market started getting 5/8” SA marked patterns (I have never found out why 5/8” was the chosen number).
Multi-size patterns came along and we lost the marked SAs.
And as independent sewing pattern companies evolved, we now have SA variety in home sewing patterns.
Incidentally, Commercial patterns have a variety of SAs … 1/4” for many necklines, 1/2” for most side seams, etc.
Personally, I find 5/8” SAs rather fiddly: hard to turn curves comfortably, and so very much to clip. I cut down many of my SAs, and would prefer no SAs like the original patterns!

Hi Kira, that's really interesting thank you o much for sharing that with me!
I do enjoy watching your creative process and your sewing. 😘 Your jumpsuit looks lovely, Hayley! 💗
Thank you so much Lynn
Thanks for the sew along. I had this pattern since release but didn't have the courage to try and make it, being on the curvier side I thought there'd be loads of alterations . The way you folded the fabric really helped too. I couldn't work out how to place the pattern.
Hayley your jumpsuit looks fabulous on you and such beautiful fabric…take care xx
Thank you Sally!
Loved this and you have inspired me to have a go at this. You look gorgeous in it.
Yay I'm so pleased!
Can you take the pockets out as there is plenty of ease. What a nightmare to undo the hook at the back, definitely couldn’t live with that. Really enjoyed watching you sew and chat. Thank you 😊
I probably could take the pockets out... I probably won't ever get around to it though!! Hehe!
Ive just been looking at this pattern. Im 5'10 can you give me an idea of how much fabric ill need please?
Im hesitant as a new sewer but yours looks fabulous and the fact it also gives the option for tall is fantastic. Many Thanks and Happy Christmas 🎄
Sorry I missed your message!! The pattern instructions will tell you how much fabric you need for your body measurements.
@@SewHayleyJane Thank you. I bought the pattern and fabric x
