    Never minimize the effect a good song can have on the lives of those who hear. You've made a difference. Gratitude....

    If you were ever asked ‘what did you do to make the world a better place?’ just play them this. I bet you can map out your life in the songs you’ve written. All the best Kris to you and yours and as always Thank You.

    Bought a Lau CD 3 or 4 years ago. We were playing it in my boat while anchored at the Sandhills in Moreton Bay ( Queensland, Australia). A dugong began to swim around the boat for about 30 minutes, a phenomenon I have not seen before. We concluded that it was a Lau fan. Only became aware of the solo work of Kris over the last few months and am completely addicted. Thank you Kari’s from Manly, Queensland.

    Was lovely to see you and Lau play in Derby last year, unexpected twist on venue change. I hope the drinks and takeout found you all in the end. Hope to see you all in Liverpool sometime, I’ll try to get tickets before they sell out again. Thanks for chirping up my mood, all the best Kris!

    I'm finding that listening to music is what's helping to keep me sane through lockdown. I've re-discovered the joy of listening through headphones, which I plug in whenever a news programme comes on! Amazing the subtle musical nuances you pick up which you would otherwise miss - and it stops me trying to sing harmony all the time (at least when there's someone else in the room!). So I just wanted to say thank you Kris, for being one of those I love to listen to. I hope you and your family are surviving as well as you can at this strange time and look forward to seeing you in concert once more when things return to something nearer normal.

    Kris - I know that you were a session musician in your younger days - presumably produced and recorded in a lot of different ways with a lot of different kit. But I notice that you tend to record your guitar with a 'dry' or fairly dry tone. You use no effects as far as I can tell, which obviously places a.premium on the quality of the performance. Whether or not that's an accurate assumption do you have a particular rationale or philosophy about the sound that you wish to create and transmit via the interweb? It would be very interesting to see one of these Isolation Days videos just about your approach to instruments, equipment and recording.

    • @KrisDreverGuitar
      @KrisDreverGuitar  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a great question. My reasoning for having this sound on these videos is just because it's what you'd hear in the room. I get bothered when I see folks playing acoustic guitar in their living room but there's a hall reverb on it, I find it detracts from my belief in the performance. That's not to say I don't have some other vibes lined up for this channel but it really is just as simple as that. I want it to sound how it looks. I have been asked by a couple of people for 'piece to camera' videos and the questions are good so I will do it fairly shortly. Thanks for getting in touch! KX

      @@KrisDreverGuitar Kris - Therein lies the difference between a pretty self-confident pro with years of performance experience and a (keen) amateur like myself. Sorry to say I AM the guy playing with hall reverb in my music room to cover up my dodgy fingering and mistakes... Which is why you can command a national/international audience via the interweb and I'm playing to a few mates down at the pub (or more accurately now swopping emailed audio files with said mates). I look forward very much to viewing your 'piece to camera' video. Hope that the lockdown treating you and your family as well as possible in the circumstances and that you're managing to write some more of those stellar songs. Stay safe.
