Jokes aside I'm actually super interested in seeing where they take the altered timeline, since they've committed to preserving the broad-strokes storyline of the original in an interview. Fingers crossed we eventually get the chance to unlock Biggs, Wedge, Jessie, and Zack as optional party members.
Also, Cloud x Jessie and Aerith x Tifa are the OTPs, KB's got it right.

You know, theoretically they could put Biggs, Wedge, Jessie and Zack together as a seperate party doing something while the main cast follows Sephiroth's trail. Kinda like how you went back and forth from Squall and the gang to Leon and his in FF8. We may even see an alternative Yuffie. Because originally the writers of FF7 wanted her to be in her mid 20's, a member of the Turks, and to be the one sent to hunt down Cloud and the others after they left Midgard, destined only to join them. If we dabble in shifting timelines, it's at least conceivably possible.
