    I have listened to Amy for over thirty years. People have ALWAYS judged this woman. She has had such an enormous impact on the I world in such a significant way....but there have been those insecure people that have found enjoyment in tearing her apart.....so sad. Because she's always given so much joy and compassion to those who have needed love and just a hug, through her music. To sit on a couch into all hours of the night and listen to her, drinking tea.....my dream....truly.

    I have some dear friends going through some of what Amy and Vice did, and it's amazing how similar some of the negative comments are. One of them lived in misery and carrying a great burden for well over 30 years, but that wasn't enough for some people. You'd think that Christians, of all people, would be the last, not the first to judge. Heaven knows I sure wouldn't want all of my private life up for review. I don't think most people would come out too well. I think your advice is spot on.

    I agree 100% Some of those nights were long nights... and her music made hard tears fall a little softer. I am so glad she is recording again.

    You're right, Jesus was against abusive behaviour and people judging people who had to deal with abusive behaviour.

    I have been reading the comments, and I can only wonder why it is that some of the most judgemental people are found within the church. Last I heard, only one person lived a life that was perfect in God's eyes, and yet, how quick were others to judge Him? Maybe we should all step back and spend more time reflecting on our own mistakes and let God take care of everyone else. Just a thought.

      Amazing Grace isn't a concept that the judgemental self-righteous can grasp. They practice a relgion without Christ without a Savior.

    @tkonme01 I used the same description, " her music has been a soundtrack to my life" and when I finally got to meet her after being a fan for over 30 years I told her almost the same words, her music "Chronicaled my life " and I have told my children her music will "Sing me home" someday as she has been my all time fav artist and she sings.wrties about the VULNERABLE side of believing yet the FAITH IS SUSTAIND and JESUS Is upheld--she's amazing!

    It's so funny to me how Christians are fine with pop,country,and r&b artists defining themselves as Christians but BLAST Amy because she has produced spiritual and secular music.Why are people so judgmental? Do people really think that someone who sings both spiritual and secual music isn't Christian? That's just weird to me.Why don't those people just leave the judging to God and find a new hobby in which to devote their time? You know like loving your neighbor and doing unto others type stuff.

      To me what gives Amy a pass for going and doing something in the secular world of involvement in music? It is there because what she gave in this video. She were never someone with aspirations of being in the music industry and as nor were her goals led towards that as being a reality. She were just a simple person trying to find her walk in Christ there. She were a struggling person with her life in relationship to God, she were not this person who we have here as today getting involved in the Christian music: as you know the types that basically leave any idea of reality all behind them; all they want to do is become a music star or what, and when they cannot get into the secular music world by than all of sudden they try the back door route and try to get in by the backdoor through a Christian label. That is the reason you have so many devils in the Christian music these days like never before. People like Lauren Daigle who is nothing like Amy. Amy is on a whole other level of human being: a person and Christian first and music artist oh what second.
      Lovely, woman.

      She left her first husband for Gill without any biblical grounds, this is much worse than secular music. Scripture classifies this as adultery plain and simple. Christians these days make excuses, however, but Yahweh does not! I’m sure someone will comment on this with excuses. Fooling yourself does not change the facts or biblical truths.

    Thank you for saying what I would have said! Some people just don't realize that there were indeed "allowances" made for divorce, such as adultery and abuse. God certainly does not intend to keep someone in an abusive marriage, for it breaks the primary commandment given to us by His Son, that we love one another as He loves us." Amen?

    @mismestera
    yes you can...you don't have christian sportsmen, or christian politicians, or christian hairdressers etc. being a christian is not her job, being a christian is about her lifestyle and just because she sings secular music or divorced doesn't detract from her being a normal human being who, like anyone has flaws. think of how many church leaders divorce and get right back to their pulpits.We need to take a step back from judging people on their mistakes and appreciating their gifts.

    It is not your concern what conversations she has with HER God about her life. You are not in her shoes nor will you ever be.. her music speaks for itself. Judge not cupcake- worry about your own life, you will be busy just doing that.

  • @FLOWBAMA
    @FLOWBAMA 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @mismestera I respectuflly disagree, she has a beautiful unique soulful voice and she can be a Christian and have some "crossover music" Paul the Apostle said, "I become all things to all people that some might be saved" her mainstream music led many to buy her albums and they heard about JESUS and the love of GOD. I have followed her for over 30yers.
    Blessings,

    The person who hasn't seen her repent - Are you listening in on her prayers? Last time I checked, God is the One we all answer to, AND ask forgiveness from. And for the record, Amy stayed with Gary through his coke problem and abuse for a VERY long time, and did not leave the marriage until the Lord released her spiritually to do so. To the one who commented on her secular songs, there's nothing anti-Christian about the content of any of them. How Christian is your judgment? Hmmm...

  • @truthseeker5496
    @truthseeker5496 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I didn’t watch the video interview but I did read some comments. I used to listen to Amy when she first came out and enjoyed her music. I was disappointed when I heard she went secular for more 💰
    I can’t judge her. I do think though anyone in a position of influence has much more responsibility. Like the servants given the talents. Look what happened to Jimmy Swaggart. He was the strongest preacher I’ve ever heard and he did not mince words. It cut people to the marrow and for this people hated him. Many were trilled when he fell... like all humans do. But he hurt many in his fall. More so those who followed him instead of Jesus Christ. We need to understand people are fallible, Christ is not. But for those weaker people, the ones in influential places must be careful that they don’t lead anyone astray.

    Boy, how so many people are so ignorant of scripture. How can someone who's not in church or saved quote scriptures? I been in church now 42 years. My marrage did not last. And only the word of God has kept me. Why? I wanna be kept. People do not understand spiritual things because they're carnal minded. But people who never really been born again, they'll never get the scriptures. If a marrage breaks up, for whatever reason, if both stay in church, THEY STAY SINGLE. You bring a reproach on the church. Radio stations did the right thing, when she jumped ship on her first marriage, they stopped playing her music back in the 90s. You don't reward sin. You rebuke it, not pet it. Like I said, my wife who was born in church, I was not, when she made up in her mind to backslide, my mind was to stay in church. That by God's grace, have done for the past 35-36 years. Am now 59 years old. But Amy Grant was never really save. Not according to scriptures. Yep, I'm Apostolic. You talk to her, she never been baptised in Jesus' name, or ever had the Holy Ghost. Ask her. Just believe in Jesus, give your heart to God and confess. I was like that at one time. I know what I'm talking about. She made a vow to Chapman, and she broke it. Before God and man. Marrage was hard on Abraham and Sarah. Mary and Joseph. Job and his wife. Moses and his wife. Do you see them jumping ship and marrying someone else? Nope. Your suppose to stay single if you can handle it. Or be reconciled back to your spouse. See 1 Corinthians 7th chapter! The word IS the judge. The pastor is suppose to be the keeper of the peace. And he bears not the sword in vain. The sword is the Word. You who are not in church, keep your mouth shut. Your not qualified to quote scriptures. And you who call yourself in church Jesus said Judge NOT according to appearanc, but JUDGE righteous judgement.
    One more thing, when Amy and Vince go to humpn' she is committing adultery against Gary Chapman because he's still alive (And vis-a-versa).
    See what Paul said in Romans chapter 7.
    PPS Jesus was not born in December. Possibly late September early October. Hey maybe if they release a Christmas album then, ah, never mind.

      Gary Chapman is on his 3rd wife and yet you only condemn Amy. How convenient of you. You are like the religious nuts who throw stones at the women who committed adultery while saying nothing about the man. Jump down from your high horse.

    @mismestera I like Amy Grants voice and her songs, espcially- 'Thy Word' and 'El Shaddi'. Reguarding statement about 'true Christian' not being able to 'cross-over to secular music'; If a Christian artist started to sell out their values and produce songs that glorified sinful things then I would agree with you. I don't think she did that with her music. However, I know she divorced her husband, who wasnt cheating, and remarried which is unchristian, and I havent seen her express repentance.
