my Dad used to say that the power of forgiveness and Grace just grace God's grace gets us thru the day I used to listen to Amy when I was younger her songs helped me as a writer change a direction for myself instead of writing for myself I wrote for him with him in mind and another famous artist whom recovered a huge loss in me gives glory to god too Whenever I am unsure about my direction I just give glory / my youth was so scrambled and crazy at one point I am glad Amy was there
If I had never heard of Amy Grant before, and watched this interview, I would conclude that this is a genuine, thoughtful, talented, giving person. Although she is known the world over, she seems like someone you could just sit down and talk with and be comfortable with. My wife met her and we have the picture to prove it. She was so nice, my wife said.
U R AN INSPIRATION AMY..ONE OF MY INFLUENCES..I HAVE SUNG UR SONGS FOR YRS :D WOULD LUV TO MET U & SING WITH U SOME DAY..GOD BLESS U..AND TYYYY SOOOO MUCH...
"...sometimes the hardest person to forgive is yourself". Hmmm, not sure about that one, Amy. It sounds like a bit of secular philosophy has clouded your faith. The Christian knows that it is impossible to be totally free from guilt of sin without the washed blood of Jesus over them. To try and do this yourself is pointless and idolatrous. I used to love her song 'Thy Word' when I was a teenager. Shhh, don't tell her, but I had such a crush on her!
***** Yes, but a Christian knows that guilt is a result of the conscience being triggered by sin; and that this sin was taken care of by Christ's finished work on the cross, not by any other means. That's why nobody can forgive themselves.
I have been following Amy Grant since I was 14. Her message she shares of her love of God resonates with me.
