  • I COMPLETED MY FIRST 50 MILE ULTRA. To say the least... It was crazy, challenging, and super fun.
    I stared out into the early morning darkness. Thoughts of doubt, fear, and excitement were swirling in my mind. Heart numb from the cold and body feeling jittery from nerves. I was there, finally stepping into the arena... I felt alive!
    Hope you enjoy my 50 Mile ultra story. Just a little running motivation if it helps. Looking forward to this new ultra running world and can't wait for the next one.

      I've done a couple 24 hour runs. 5k loops, a new 5k every hour. run as many as you wish, sit out when you need the rest. They were fun.

    I did the Dave Goggins 4x4x48 Challenge Nov 6-8 & added miles to equal out 2 marathons at 52 miles to raise funds for WWP. For sure was a massive mental challenge, esp on 4 hours of total sleep. I began to argue w/ myself around midnight to about 5am both nights. Worst part is that the challenge is a go stop go stop, & my calf muscles froze up at rest. I agree with you on the learning part, it sucked but I learned a lot! My last 5 miles I worse a 20lb vest & all I wanted to do was quit...once I finished I was bit by the run bug. It did so well w/ the community participating that I'm repeating it Oct 2021 & making it a 4x4x72 challenge to raise funds for WWP.

    • @RobPirieCedarOtaCoffee
      @RobPirieCedarOtaCoffee  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s so cool! I remember when they were doing that and a ton of people were participating. I think that would almost be harder because if I would of took a break 5 miles before finishing I don’t think I could of physically started back. When I got home that night I literally had to crawl up the stairs because I could not lift my legs anymore. 72!? That would be crazy!! Super cool you are doing it for a good cause to. I would like to get more involved in that. I did a good bit while I was serving for WWP but I have fell off the wagon in that area. Thanks so much for watching!
