Well done. I would like to see a comparison of a 2021 Toyota 4Runner Limited vs 2021 Lexus GX460 Premium. Is the Lexus worth the extra money? Curious most about ride comparison between the two. Premium GX, not a GX Luxury package. Thanks!
My good man they are basically the same but if you want more good looking and not more old school look, take GX and it is more spacious. 4tunner is same too but for a smaller family
What is Lane departure Alert in Lexus Safety System+? Does it simply make noise, like when you are not wearing a seat belt? When the vehicle start to move away from the center of a lane? Or does it give you some feed back thru the steering wheel? Or does it automatically center your vehicle in a lane?
The Land Rover, Lincoln, Infiniti and Cadillac competitors purchased on the same day will be on their third or fourth disillusioned owner when the buyer of this GX is contentedly getting their 100,000 mile tune up done. Having said that, I don't know why the modern 'infotainment' is only available outside this market. Finally, the 4Runner is a close cousin but the Prado is the non-identical twin brother.
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it! Only folks that are all about the shining knobs and glitchy gadgets don’t get (or care) about reliability and being in the service department often.😂
If you are looking for technologies and a smooth ride, look else where. Don’t say “I will get the GV80/X5/GLE instead of this”. Those are completely different SUVs. If you are looking to drive around in something luxurious and go offroading on the weekends with a truly tried and trued reliable powertrain, then this is your ride. You can easily put a lift on this and go rock crawling. One of the few SUV’s that come with a center diff lock from the factory.
That 4.6l is a tank, it's been tested since 2006, it's dinosaur technology but its reliable, no turbo to break or supercharger to repair...if you want MPG get a Prius...no one get a big SUV body on frame and expect good MPG
Land Cruiser Prado 70 series from the 80s is still on sale in countries like Australia. If you want the mainstream SUV, go buy crappy Kia Telluride. Getting tired of this constant complaining about the design. Like seriously, get lost!
It has off road capability. If you don't need it then its not luxurious. You know what I mean. The chasis is not unibody so not that smooth. The height to width ratio is odd. The rear captain seats doesn't seem to have much comfort.
Hi I am a professional driver & I just got my GX 2021 but unfortunately I don’t enjoy my acceleration at all. It’s hesitation a lot. If my seat driver seat position very close to steering wheel then it’s better but little distance it’s really harsh.please can you explain me what should I do?
I picked up a 2016, last year with 60k miles, one owner, from Miami. Flew down, drove back up to New England(everything up here has 10 year shelf life unless the original owner was anal about rust prevention). I would recommend it again, since I grabbed it for 30k(saving 30k+).
I would rather get a limited 4runner in nightshade. its a smaller engine with a outdated 5speed but the fuel cost will be 25-30% less then the GX because it doesnt require premium fuel. I also think the toyota looks better. just a personal opinion
I wanted the nightshade too. But went with the GX460. The 4Runner felt really underpowered and headroom is terrible compared to the GX. Where I am 87 gas is $2.99 and 91 is $3.30. So the difference is 10% and besides people who buy these cars don’t worry about gas. I get 23 mpg with cruise control @ 65 mph. I got 2020 GX premium with sport design package for $51147 almost same as nightshade.
My local dealership gave a 3k discount on the 4Runner limited nightshade and over here the cost of premium is 25% higher. Overall vehicle price and the fuel cost makes the 4Runner the winner
You mentioned you like the power the gx. It does 0-60 in 7.4 seconds using a v8 with premium gas whereas the 4Runner does 7.7 using a v6. The speed difference is so minimal you will not see much difference in the real world.
@@Tom-zu1ss they are both great trucks. I drove both and I’m not really concern with 0-60. It’s more of the torque I’m looking for 278lbs vs, 329lbs. Is a huge difference. But really the lack of headroom and the dead pedal feel of the 4Runner really killed it for me. Looks wise I like the 4Runner.
Also I will gladly pay the premium for the buttery smoothness and sweet sound of the V8. Plus after Toyota/Lexus axes all the V8’s in the lineup it will be more rare and sought after.
toyota builds this on a mini land cruiser platform, off roaders know it all. toyota should have taken advantage to extend the lexus market to overlanders, even the land rover relaunches a completely redesigned defender. i hope that toyota will update the engine to a v6 turbo to improve the fuel econ, a better transmission, more storage, more rugged overland look and capabilities. When compared the interior design with the land rover defender, it's a night and day difference, but the gx460 is a lot more reliable and will last a lot longer. But for city cruising, the rx350 is fine.
@@DobermanGang-th1uu I see your point on that one. 4runners never go on sale unfortunately. I am probably in the minority but I prefer the chrome trim to the nightshade. Just way overpriced for black trim and wheels
