    Built like a tank, very reliable, as is the case with most Toyota products, and now with the updates to the 2022 GX, the tech is finally reasonable too!

    The cargo cover can be stored behind the third row. It can be partially collapsed and held in place using the two straps (far left and far right) on the floor behind the aft cargo hooks. It’s not the best design but it works and means the cargo cover doesn’t need to be stored in the garage when the third row is up.

    That's why I have one. New is not always better. I have always owned Lexus whether it be cars or suv. Last Lexus I sold was a 2002 ls430 and sold it for 6000 with 300k on it. It had original everything. Rt now I own a es300h and a 2021 gx 460. Best vehicles outdated in amenities but great overall.

    Great and informative video, I do appreciate Lexus thought process on throttling the tech updates but people need to understand that this vehicle is based on the Toyota Prado which also lack high technology in regards to infotainment. These are off-road vehicles, I can tell you that I have driven Toyota Prado in Iraq and Afghanistan during my deployments and it did survive the harsh environment that we had to drive through day in and out. This was the most dependable SUV we had in our lineup and it’s far more superior and capable than other SUVs from Ford, GM, and even LR except maybe the old Defender.

    We bought a 21 with 0 miles last december for 0 APR. The dealership called last month offering list price to buy it back because they cannot get any on the lots due to semiconductor shortages. I said no way good luck though. We are going to keep this thing forever. People complain about the outdated interior media center but if you have owned a reliable vehicle for over 10 years, you know that the interior starts falling apart long before the engine/transmission. With the GX you have 10 years of identically produced interior components and a toyota landcruiser prado pedigree built into the chassis.

    She said at the beginning that this is a "full-size" luxury SUV, then later referred to it as a mid-size. It is considered by everyone (including Lexus) to be a mid-size luxury SUV. The Escalade (nearly 2 feet longer and a foot wider) is an example of a full-size luxury SUV.

    KISS method! Cars are getting way to technical. I think the wave of the future will be leasing cars. Owning cars with all the new gadgets will have you taking out a second on your home. I work at a dealership and see how much replacement parts are for cars that are out of warranty and it’s crazy! It’s not going to get better. Cars like the GX now will be worth their weight in gold later.

      You hit it right on the head. This is designed this way. I could see it coming for years. More shit goes wrong with cars that the mechanics have no idea how to fix and that is on purpose. The more you bring it back the more money the stealership makes. If this thing gets into a front end collision goodbye. It will cost more to fix the $6000 headlights the $2000 bumper the paint the grill blah blah blah before you know it I bet a small font end hit on this would easily top 15k without sneezing. And now more and more vehicles get you on putting multiple lights on the bumper for no use other than to LOOK COOL and then you find out how cool it is when you smash it up.

    It is a record sales year for 2nd gen GX. More 2021 GX's were sold than any other year of 2nd gen GX. The 2nd gen GX was released in 2010. The only year more GX's were sold by this point in the year was 2005 the first year of production of the 1st gen GX. The year isn't over and the 2021 may still break the overall record sales year.

    • @paulm6481
      @paulm6481 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Lime Life Luxury mindset is different. Yes a Corolla is many times more reliable than a X5 (really than any BMW). A Lexus is also more reliable than a BMW. But, a luxury buyer (not talking second hand buyer talking first owner) doesn't care about reliability. These vehicles are leased. Few buy luxury vehicles. After 3 or 4 years they are available to repurchase. The first owner wants to feel fabrics and material and controls that exude latest and greatest and best feel. That is where Lexus fails. Ask yourself why can't Lexus GX 460 sell more than X5 or GLE? Answer is in above. X5 sells twice the number of GX460s a year (roughly) and the Mercedes GLE also outsells GX460 by at least 50%. That should tell you something about mindset of luxury car buyers.

      Yes Siree Bob!! I also have a 2000 LS 400. It's got a little over 200K miles, but it is in mint condition. I would not trade it for ANYTHING IN THE WORLD. I've got another "daily driver", but my LS 400 is going to my grave with me!!!

      Yea but this has great values and they still sell really well here in the US. They buy this for off road capability and reliability longevity. You can even modify it as well
