@@channelskip in a way, though it's more like they used samples of the Princess song. The "mashups" tend more to be using the musical portion of one song with the vocals of another. In the case of "A Trick of the Night", they used music unique to the song in addition to the vocals, along with samples from the Princess song.
@@channelskip way back in the 80s I did a sort of mashup before the term was even being used. I took the beat from "I Beg Your Pardon" by Kon Kan, and the acapella version of "Tell It To My Heart" by Taylor Dayne. Back then there was no digital mixing within reach of the average person, so it was all done with turntables, a Radio Shack disco mixer, and a cassette deck.
I (boy) had a crush with a boy from heaven that have send! He took my hand and asked me for dance. He kissed me on the dancefloor in this straight club to this song. No one cares. We were the only gay guys there. I'll never forget this. Love this song
This should have been a massive hit. Brilliant song
The majority of this mix was sampled from a previous hit from 1985 by singer Princess - Say I'm Your Number One. Hence the name of the mix....
@@wutta-do5zysearch for Adele Set fire to the rain Paul Anderson remix, it sounds like this too and works really well
"Stuff like that" would so much benefit from a mix like this!!!!!
Yes! This is so good. 😍

I just love the music of Bananarama 💖😍 💖 😍 💖😍 💖😍 💖😍 💖😍 💖😍 💖😍 💖
wonderful remix
Trick of the night the best music Bananarama showwwwwwwwww
The harmonies are so much better on this one.
I'd say this is more of a "mash up" using samples of the original track Say I'm your number 1 by Princess.
A mashup coming from the source itself. :)
I love Bananarama and MrPoopFace
Fantastic ❤
Phil Harding's book brought me here....
This remix sounds like Princess song: "Say I'm The Number One" (1985). Remixed by Stock/Aitken/Waterman!
Yes, hence the name of the mix. This was in fact the first mix of this song I ever heard, and it remains my favourite version.
@@technomikelyons Just read about this in Phil Harding's book. So, isn't this basically what's now called a mashup?

@@technomikelyons Thanks for clarifying. I once attempted a similar thing with Madonna's "Everybody" and "Music."
