The only thing I wished they would have added was a few pictures of Luca and Giulia returning the following summer, and the boys being happily reunited.
I wish that Pixar did stuff like Dreamworks and included a mini-movie on the Blu-Ray with an additional post-film adventure. That would have been pretty cool to see.
The shot of the Disney castle right at the end of the credits opens with the train coming out of the tunnel in the opposite direction, which I read as just that.
The scene where the two old ladies take off the umbrella and show who they are, wearing the same clothes, walking and doing human things. Almost blending in seamlessly through the crowd, then the look of letting go of decades of secrets to be who they really are. The scene showing that yes, there are people who are different from you. Gay people living in society for years, pretending to be someone they’re not just to fit in. Showing us that we are human like anyone else, and that it could be anyone, even your own neighbors. This humanizing scene really touched me.

In the end credits we see them with Luca’s grandmother and Alberto and a human kid (seen several times in the film - I’d _love_ to know more about him) all eating gelato cones, and all smiling, even the Aragostas. Being free to come out as who they are changed their whole demeanor, not just their physical appearance. They became happy, and were almost certainly much more pleasant to interact with.

The movie was pretty simple to me. I'm not a fan of the animation or the story, but I love the message they're trying to spread out that its okay to be different, and ofc people will always judge you but you shouldn't hide who you are for others approvals. It's one of the realest disney movies we've had in a while and I think it deserves an award for that
I haven't seen the movie but i love the art and how it shows culture, friendship, coming out in different ways, and so much more. I may make a oc based on this movie because i love the concept
What got me at the end scene right before Alberto hugged Luca was the way his nostrils kinda flared (like how they do before you start crying bc you breathe out ig) and his eyes went wide and watery. That attention to detail was heartbreaking 🥲
I am a sucker for any movie best friends.. especially that one friend who teaches you that you can do anything.. And I LOVE how it's never set in stone if any romance evolves between the trio. It's totally up to the viewer if Luca gets into a relationship with Alberto or guilette, or neither. I personally ship Luca and guilette, but that's just me. I could honestly see it either way.
Yeah, the movie is very well crafted to leave most things up to the viewer's interpretation. Strictly speaking, the director said the three children are pre-puberty and they wanted to avoid any romantic connections, but I think it's possible if you want to, to think that in the future they might or might not, they could all just be platonic friends too.
As a queer person, this movie gave me such amazing vibes. And I don't mean because of shipping characters or anything like that (though there were a very large amount of tropes that seem to be taken from "queer coming of age" type of films, I feel like there's no way that was purely an accident), it was the messages of acceptance and perseverance in the face of prejudice that got me. I haven't enjoyed a Pixar film this much in years.
I really love these character designs because they’re so similar to the ones in La Luna also by Enrico Casarosa and it’s one of my fav shorts about embracing individuality.
Just to clear of one of the missing goat fish, Enrico is not the one at the end of the post credits scene but Giuseppe. The kind of fish who swims away mostly, confirmed by a tweet from Enrico Casarosa himself.
I think of luca as a movie that has the ability to always brighten up your day, no matter how you feel. When i first watched luca i had to rewatch it at least five times. Then later on me and my best friend watched it another three times. And i think it's safe to say that luca is my new comfort movie. I can never get enough of it! But i personally think that luca's story is kind of a refrence to someone finding their true colours and learning love themselves for who they are. And i personally think there is a possibility that the relationship between luca and alberto could mean something romantic, but they themselves didn't notice that yet. Again this is just my opinion, so no hate pls
This movie really good I’m glad Alberto Didn’t let Luca give away his dream to be in school even tho it was sad to say goodbye I’m ready for a part 2 now✋🏽❤️
I think it brings much more excitement in the movie by adding deep meaningful meanings and clues, it makes Disney really stand out, and it had never changed!
In the credits there are also two doodles, a hermit crab and a scorpionfish, facing each other from two sides of the screen. This is funny since Luca's surname translates to hermit crab and Alberto's to scorpionfish.
I can't believe I'm watching this while I've yet to see the movie... I mean, the fault's on me, but I just can't help but be drawn to the content of the video...
I love that movie because it reminds me of that childhood innocence and fun you had as a child. I am now thinking more often about those times since I just finished school xD
There are a lot of ways that people can come out of hiding and be themselves. When I was a child I wore glasses and people would call me "4 Eyes" I ended up "losing" every pair of glasses that my parents bought for me. I was 1 of 4 children and only my dad worked so money was tight. I felt like I had to do this to be accepted and to make friends. My parents wanted to help my self esteem so they sent me to modeling school. It did help my self esteem but it wasn't who I really was. I loved science and gardening. Luca means a lot to me. I want my children to feel like being brave and standing up to their bullies by making light of whatever the bully tries to do just like in this movie when the boys stand up and don't hit back but just stand together. Even though we see they are very scared, they play fun. I was sad to see Alberto get punched. I wished that they would have just been able to make the bully feel silly and walk away.
like when that Vespa guy says "No one wants you here in this town, we hate you and disgusted by you monsters" even before knowing that they are sea monsters. Or when his mother says," It is like I don't even know you" after he went to surface, and sending him to that see through uncle, does it not scream conversion therapy to you. Also when his Granny says that," Some people will never accept you but ya just gotta find the good ones" like do you not see this? It is not about romance but again they are sea monsters so...... anything is possible. Death of the author, remember?
I don't know what happened... I just finished watching this movie and tears couldn't stop flowing from my eyes! Such an amazing, wonderful story! I watched it untill now 5 times! And, I never get bored! I enjoy it like I watch it for the first time! I think there is some kind of magic spread on this movie so people would love it once they watch it! OMG I'm 😭
As an immigrant living in the US, this film hit me hard on so many levels! There will be people forever who do not accept you (aka racists) but you got to find the group who are happy to have you..💙
Although this movie has lots of themes that can be attributed to feeling like an outsider, there is no relationship between any of the characters. The director and storyboard writer said this when discussing if Call Me By Your Name gave any inspiration, “I love Luca’s movies and he’s such a talent but it truly goes without saying that we really willfully went for a pre-pubescent story,” Casarosa laughs. “This is all about platonic friendships.”
Yes that's true, there isn't any romantic relationship between Luca, Alberto or Giulia. Nevertheless, the underlying themes are still in the movie for the audience to interpret for themselves.

It's totally up to the viewer if Luca gets into a relationship with Alberto or guilette, or neither. I personally ship Luca and guilette, but that's just me. I could honestly see it either way.
Nah nah. Personally disagree, Luca and Alberto had way more chemistry then Luca and Guillette. He just seemed interested in what she knew
I didn't see anything go on between Luca and Giulia, but there was definitely some chemistry between Luca and Alberto
🖤
I just saw them all as very close friends. I love that there wasn’t any romance
It was just an adorable little movie ❤
I really love these character designs because they’re so similar to the ones in La Luna also by Enrico Casarosa and it’s one of my fav shorts about embracing individuality.
This double meaning in the movie is 🙌🏽🙌🏽🔥🔥
Just to clear of one of the missing goat fish, Enrico is not the one at the end of the post credits scene but Giuseppe. The kind of fish who swims away mostly, confirmed by a tweet from Enrico Casarosa himself.
You're a bloody genius, simple as that!!!
That's very sweet of you to say! Happy you enjoyed it. 😊
Have you guys notice how Luca and Alberto’s hair looks like a rose at the back :0
I love How Julia’s dad like adopted Alberto. That’s so cute
This movie really good I’m glad Alberto Didn’t let Luca give away his dream to be in school even tho it was sad to say goodbye I’m ready for a part 2 now✋🏽❤️
I didn't even know that i love "Luca" so much, the best movie ever. For me of course. I wish i had friendship like they are.
Same!! I’ve seen so many spoilers for this movie because I’ve been actively looking for them that I basically already know the movie haha
I love that movie because it reminds me of that childhood innocence and fun you had as a child. I am now thinking more often about those times since I just finished school xD
Omg as soon as Luca and Alberto met I was like
“They gay and I ship 😩🖐💅”
I ship em only for alberto's smirk when they meet
I ship them too!
Yeeyyy I'm not alonee
@RandomTree No- we just think they are cute together
@RandomTree we didn’t say they can’t be friends we just think they act kinda gay dude-
There are a lot of ways that people can come out of hiding and be themselves.
I’m so sorry you went through that! I hope you feel better about yourself now🥺
I am glad they went with the ending they did.
I love the movie SOOO much!❤️Very heartwarming!
I was waiting for someone to talk about what the heck he said and now I know.
Amazing video as always 👌
Thank you so much! 😀
I’ve been seeing a lot of these please tell me I’m not the only who thinks this movie is about friendship not Romance
I thought it was friendship too. Watching it I was not thinking about romance. Their love as brothers was very fulfilling :).
it still has a lot of subtext that can make it implicit tho
like when that Vespa guy says "No one wants you here in this town, we hate you and disgusted by you monsters" even before knowing that they are sea monsters.
Or when his mother says," It is like I don't even know you" after he went to surface, and sending him to that see through uncle, does it not scream conversion therapy to you.
Also when his Granny says that," Some people will never accept you but ya just gotta find the good ones"
like do you not see this?
It is not about romance but again they are sea monsters so...... anything is possible. Death of the author, remember?
@@colon5246 I can see how it could give off that energy but idk in my opinion it wasn’t LGBTQ+
I am with you and there's many others too.
Finished it now and watching this 😍
I don't know what happened...
OMG I'm 😭
PIXAR'S BACK, BABY!!
this movie was absolutely amazing. I'm in love😍
As an immigrant living in the US, this film hit me hard on so many levels! There will be people forever who do not accept you (aka racists) but you got to find the group who are happy to have you..💙
absolutely in love with this movie
@@FlicksAndTheCity Absolutely! That's why head canon is a thing. I was just commenting something I found interesting when researching the film.
@@FlicksAndTheCity no relantionship but Alberto telling Luca that he got him out of the island is a reference about Alberto leaving the closet, so he is actually gay e_e
I think its just a platonic friendship, like they’re rlly good homies
@@dilanmattr355 same shit over and over, they wont confirm it cause LAST TIME THEY CONFIRM THEY HAD AN LGTB CHARACTER. 1 MILLION MOMS REUNITED TO HATE THAT. SO THEY WONT CONFIRM IT AGAIN. Gosh, its to easy to complain but never to look for info. Pathetic.
This is my kid's favorite movie. She watches it daily, sometimes multiple times, and I don't really mind, lol. Great movie. Ironically, my oldest child's favorite movie when she was young was Finding Nemo.
The dedication can also be a metaphor about coming out: “This film is dedicated to Alberto Surace, Patty Ann Buchholz Willrett (1974 - 2020), and all the friends who pulled us out of the water and helped us find our way”. 😻
Also mrs marsigliese (the woman who organized the Portorosso cup) is probably a reference to pixars character designer Deanna Marsigliese! :)
this part is like amogus when the other imposter gets found out that they are a imposter and the other imposter has to join the crewmates not to die XD 2:33
“There are 2 imposters among us”
“Vote red out, he is the imposter”
“Blue. You are also the other imposter, right? TELL THEM!’”
“I have nothing to do with Red.” “I was not involved at all.”
Luca and Alberto are the 2 impostors
Luca(Cyan):-Accusess Blue(Alberto)
Alberto:I am an impostor!
Luca:AHHH! Blue is the impostor
Red and The 3 Bullies and Luca voted for Alberto
"Alberto was an impostor"
1 Impostor remain
I watch this every morning to brighten my day since it came out
Imma say this. The sea monsters look like Axolotl?
this movie really did everything right... im not someone who praises movies that easily but woah i honestly do not have any complains especially with the extra scenes in the end credits
At the end is like a soldier departing for war
5:54 Guilia's face looks like the drunk emoji loll
This movie is my favorite movie of all time because of all the LGBTQ+ representation
I just want to say thank you for putting captions on this video!!!
6:49 wait I thought he only has one arm 👁👄👁
👁️👄👁️
Maybe prostetic or the one is vacant or pixars LOGIC
Funny. Right in the middle of the video there was a Disney + ad for Luca 👌
About the fish with Uncle Ugo is really Enrico, I thought of that too! I love all of your theories here :D
I love this movie, when I was young I felt like an outsider. I found my tribe while I was in high school. I use to hide who I was and where I came from. Until adulthood I accepted who i was and
The movie is about not to judge a book by it's cover.
just watched it for the first time and the ending made me cry so badly
I literally thought the metaphor was Italians are cool
massimo visiting luca's family literally made me cry
is no one gonna talk about how decepe the fish that kept drifting off has the messed up fin just like nemo idk if that was on pourplose but i think its a cool nod
