Residents again are faced with flooding in the St Andrew, Community of New Haven, this is due to what they describe as poor maintenance of the drainage system.

New Haven was declared a disaster zone over 20 years ago, people were advised to relocate but refused. There is no fixing of that area.
Shut up you need money too relocate go and help them,were you live how many man you take too relocate

No these foolish people capture land on the river banks and put up shaks. They throw their own garbage in the gully and clogged it up. . Look at the mountains at tp. That tells you not to live below the mountains. Our ancestors never lived below the mountains. The live on the mountains. These people creat their own misery then blame government. They were told not to live on river banks and stop capturing land.

While I agree that some people are nasty. I will also hasten to add that not all the garage is from the area. Up town people throw their garbage in the gully also. When rain falls every thing runs down.

All of Jamaica got hit with the hurricane so why is he just going to some area. The poor people need money in the community to buy food. There are more elderly people out there who do not have shelter right now who need to have shelter and food. The government (YOU) is not moving fast enough. The JDS need to be dropping water and food over the island. Why is curfew on the people when the people are the one cleaning up the island? NOT the Government. Where is the JDS the need to be out giving out food and water and cleaning up the island.

Because them go build in a duhaney river bed. It’s a river them build into so drain cleaning can’t help them. They need to relocate or accept the waters.
Sir, new heaven is in the middle of the Duhaney a river. I don’t understand these people, it’s a river bed and that river come all the way from up a queen hill down abberville to duhaney park. Know uno area, even the back of some homes on abberville and Erin have break away because that is a gully path. You think no amount of drain cleaning can help when a river bead the community is literally built in? Uno try come out there before the river takes back its lands.

It's a river bed, silly. Do you expect a river bed to be beautiful. They choose to caputre that area and pitch a shack. One man said he lived there 30 years. That's lack of ambition The government told them that they cannot live on the river bansk. They don't listen. They cause this on them selves.

Problem is, there's onle two parties, so people have no choice than to vote for one or other, or not vote at all. Some choice.

It's easy to say these people should relocate, but do they have the funds to do that? Maybe they do if they can afford to keep replacing everything they own when it rains. But they should consider leaving for the health of the kids
The people want the government to care about them and help them out, but the reality is they do not. It's feeling like they never will. Not unless you bring some kind of tourism attraction to the table.
The government should do something to help the residents. Do not wait for election to promise and then do nothing. Help the residents.
