Had my first moto- an old B31 in the 1960s I bought for $30 here near Montreal. IT was misfiring like crazy, so.my buddy- Norm TOWED me back with a rope from behind his seat of his Matchless G80, tow rope attached to the front fork post. Get this my first long ride on my FIRST motorcycle was being towed about 30 miles! Once safely back in Dad's garage, Norm helped me fix it - the Amal carburetor slide- was in BACKWARDS ! Reminds me, we GOTTA get the B33 back on the road. It was put away, complete about 1995, and we caught the guys in the act of rolling it away, about 6 blocks from the broken into storage trailer.
Yes certainly, on some parts I started with a file, then rough emery down through fine, then wet and dry paper, then when I got the right shape, finally on a buffing wheel, hours and hours of fun!
My word that looks stunning,,, thats got to be ,,,, Do they call it concourse condition ,,,, that would turn a few heads going over the "Cat and Fidel" and such a slow tick over,,,,, thats a real credit to you ,,,,,
Hi Alan, thanks for your nice comments, for some reason I have two youtube id's the other one is 'ellaguru' when I changed to my real name, it left the other one and created this new one, so I re uploaded it to this id. Hope that makes sense! The other I'd had loads of views, don't know why this hasn't, not too fussed really, cheers, Dave
Hello, I'm restoring the same model, could you tell me the colour of the tank, and how do you get it petrol resistant. If i can get mine half as nice as yours i'd be very happy.

***** Hi again Alan, yes it's 'public' On my other id .....(I had to change it when google bought out youtube and I could'nt log in and had to change to a google account).... it has the same title and has like I said, 20 odd thousand views, I've given more of a description on that one. I did try to combine the two accounts, but I just gave up! it's as clear as mud isn't it? cheers, Dave

Wow! That's gorgeous and I'm so envious.
I had one as my second bike in 1957 .A 53 plunger.

Really chuffed my videos have been of interest and great you have a mate to through ideas around with and hopefully keep each other motivated and to come up with an enjoyable worthwhile layout ,,,, where you too can break a few rules,,,, just remember if you have the skills to restore the lovely BSA above then you have common sense ,,, and logical thinking and I think its totally immaterial if some one has never done any modeling before,,, because 90% of it is just common sense ,,, you know when to use a 3 1/2 inch ten and when to use a panel tin ,,,,, don't get draw into believing all of what's said in videos ,,,, take the gist and best bits then do it the way you want to,,, and add something of yourself along the way,,,
Paint your boards black dark grey ,,, if anything shows through no big deal,,, (Tony zimmer modeling Sheffield Vic ) has next to no ballast down,,, black boards ,,, but hes got a fantastic layout,,,, Get some track down asap,, fit a few points bend some flexy track ,,, and do it just as a trial,,, use double side glue dots/tape to hold in in place,,,, just to get a feel,,,,get a loco running ,,,, back and forth ,,, , so you get a better picture of what you would both like to create,,, mock sections up ,,, use the Any rail free track designer program to get a real idea what might fit in ,,, then you can really start to formulate firm plans ,,, in the hope of some updates I have subscribed ,,,, But I see something about you having another I,D ,,, anyway winter nights coming ,,, get your heads together ,,, throw the rule book away ,,, and enjoy creating something ,,, Best regards Alan
