I had a B33 as a teenager 40 years ago, and I clearly remember this starting procedure. I also remember the joy I got from letting friends have a go, deliberately without telling them how!!! Over the handle bars, kick backs, locked solid, all sorts of fun. Then I'd get on, a seemingly gentle flow through kick and off it would go. Mean bugger I was! :)
Wow , what a nice toy AMIGO !!! sounds fantastic this engine, Thanks for shearing this great video from this beauty, we have the same bike here in Medellin Colombia, AND OUR GOAL IT'S TO RESTOR IT AND PUT IT BACK ON THE ROAD AGAING !!!!!!
Beautiful restoration, well done. Not completely correct for the year, but who cares, the bike is stunning. I have an '52 M33 I enjoy riding regularly and want to restore it next year. This is a standard to aspire to. Thank you for the vid.
Hey I know that bike, I'm the one who built/restored it! All the SS nuts and bolts I made in a Hardinge lathe, the generator is an Alton, valve guides are silicon-bronze, valves are stainless I modified from a Pontiac, stellite valve seats. The fork tubes I made using 4130, heat treated then hard chromed and OD ground to a 6RMS. All bushings are made from either AlNiBr or phosphor-bronze. Owner, please contact me and I'll tell you more.
PS: the bike has a Tony Hayward belt drive / clutch. He doesn't make that style of clutch anymore but I have a new belt and plates for this bike. I think I even have the original 276 carb from this bike, I bought it in 1990 in East Sussex England and toured all of the UK (it had a Watsonian sidecar at the time) before shipping it back here to restore it. Owner contact me and I'll send you the clutch parts.
My 51´has the original MagDyno,i always start mine first kick with priming the carb,no choke ever.Mind you My camshafts are Hi-Tune and a 9,:1 Compression ratio.
Beautifully restored. I have a ZM33 1952, I've just got it back from the mechanic and registered today in QLD Australia. Mine still has a magneto with the advance to be adjusted to the engine RPM. My mechanic said the magneto has been bastarded but the bike runs fine, today I've ridden it for about 20km to get it back to my place. I am struggling to get it started and the clutch doesn't work well so it's difficult to get to neutral. Scotty I am interested to get more details on how to improve the bike, like putting an electronic magneto and clutch. How can I contact you?
