Cheick Kongo is ranked 3rd in the Bellator rankings. That tells you all you need to know about their HW division. There would be no fights for Ngannou in Bellator, except Rumble and Bader.

For most for fighters I think you're correct, but for a heavyweight, especially one as marketable as Francis, I think one statement win over Gane will make him a big enough draw to where he can gain leverage over Dana and the organization--like Connor had for example. Just my opinion. Im definitely biased toward Francis.

Despite mourning Stipe's loss, I feel Francis may have inherited a cursed belt. The way things are going, the disrespect shown to Stipe will pale in comparison to theft of whatever future Ngannou may enjoy. At least Stipe has the legacy of the UFC heavyweight GOAT, Francis may never get that shot at all.

Why do I feel like a lot of the recent HW champs, with the exception of DC, have eventually had something negative to say about the UFC? Werdum, Stipe and Francis, and I don't remember of Junior or Cain had anything to say, but that's still 3/5 in the past like 10 years

I’m pretty sure with Randy Couture being indirectly involved behind the scenes advising Francis on his contract doesn’t make the process easy. We all know Dana White hates Randy’s gut. It’s unfortunate for fight fans but I think having Randy around as your advisor is a very good thing ultimately.
Ok as the interview goes on I agree with the fact that when it’s time to renew the contract that is when you ask what you think you deserve and negotiate with them. I agree that he has to fight for what he think is fair and think on his side because the company that is hiring you is looking after themselves.

Ngannou in Boxing would be a huge draw. Even if he goes there’s nothing UFC can do about it. They couldn’t stop McGregor from doing it. People will pay a lot of money to see Ngannou box. Especially against the likes of Wilder, Fury and Joshua. Boxing is what Ngannou always wanted to do, MMA just put food on the table.

Stipe was a great champ and the greatest heavyweight ever. But Francis just has more star power and the UFC failed to capitalize on it with a Jon Jones fight which could've been the biggest UFC PPV ever in my opinion. Maybe if Francis beats Gane they consider Jon Jones even with his current troubles but you can't keep a star like Francis in the shadows like this. It's just wrong
