Ngannou ate that shot quite well, as evidenced by the fact he reset and landed a perfect check hook that put Miocic to sleep. Stipe thought he hurt him because he was hurt, concussed and desperate. Unfortunately Stipe has a bad habit of dropping his hands when going for the kill, which enabled Francis to knock him out. Instead of making excuses as to why Stipe 'didn't look himself' why not instead focus on why Francis looked so good? His technical improvements, patience and threat of power made Stipe hesitant to engage. Francis used feints to confuse Stipe, allowing him to land clean shots and whenever Stipe tried to make entries Francis countered him.
Man ofc that francis improved drastically but stpe look of balance all the fight but kudos to francis he looked great good on him just i think he hurt because ngannou wobbled i could see it
I personally think Jones with the massive reach advantage would pick him apart from a distance. A stylistic mismatch for Stipe in my view. But I'd tune for that nontheless!
That would be a awesome fight ..but honestly jones deserves a damn title shot for the heavyweight title if he does fight in heavyweight..he was the youngest ufc champ ever. And came and dominated every light heavyweight and back in the day light heavyweight division was the most stacked division with monsters in that division. Jones never lost. That bs 1 loss on his record is nonsense..he's human just like everyone and has personal problems too like everyone..but that aside idc what he does outside the octagon. .he's still undefeated inside. And I could never bet against him cause I never seen him lose
Nobody will ever beat Stipe's record of most HW title wins. That's something to be extremely proud of. I don't even think Francis will be able to defend his title once.
My thing is this. Stipe wasn’t even competitive in the rematch… his game plan went 100% perfectly in the first fight and it still took all he had to get that 5 round decision. Stipe ate like 12 bombs that could have easily put him out. In the rematch Francis was so much more composed and completely neutralized Stipe. Even took Stipe’s back and hammered him . I just don’t see a trilogy fight immediately when It was so evident that Francis has evolved past the point where Stipe can replicate the first fight.
I rewatched the first fight with Francis and tbh it should have been stopped in rd 4. Francis literally didn't land anything that round. Obviously he wasn't too badly hurt but he was too tired to intelligently defend himself.
Stipe, if you want the trilogy quit the talking and show the company you deserve it, fight. If you get two wins against solid contenders you will get a shot again.
No champion has ever deserved a rematch more than Stipe. Most dominant champ in that weight class, won previously against the opponent he lost the belt too, the only reason they won’t do it cause of “business optics”
@Nigalas Cage The guy deserves more. Its not like the UFC pushed Stipe to be their posterboy. And its not like he is getting another shot against the champ

@@madgavin7568 that’s actually a very intelligent response. I guess to me I feel like Stipe is still a better fighter than Francis overall and coming into their 2nd fight as light as he did he gave himself even more of a strength disadvantage. I’d take him in the trilogy fight because I think he’d make the correct adjustments, physically and gameplan wise.
@@954buggy If Stipe were still in his prime I could foresee him doing what you believe he could, but the man's 39 years old and taken quite a bit of damage. He's not in his prime anymore, whilst Francis is in his prime and only looked better and better. But even if Stipe were still in his prime, its a very difficult fight for him. The feeling I got from their rematch was not what can Stipe do to comeback from this like he could with DC or JDS, but rather the end of an era. Plenty of firsts in Stipe's career happened; it was the first time he lost his composure, looked outclassed, looked fearful (after the stuffed takedown) and lost a rematch. When history favours the fighter who is strong in those qualities (composure, skill, confidence and rematches) in Stipe, for it to not happen its a good signal that the torch has been passed. Ngannou is a physical specimen. He will always have the advantage over Stipe in strength, power, explosiveness and despite being bigger, speed. At Heavyweight, those things play a huge factor. The technical improvements to his game only make this more an uneven matchup, at least on paper. Stipe could bulk up and adjust the game-plan, but I just can't see it working.
Stipe's a good dude, but I hate the trend of recirculating FORMER champions on top of divisions. Stipe is 2-2 in his last 4 fights. He shouldn't be in a position to just fight for titles until he gets one :D BACK OF THE LINE, STIPE!
I don't think so bro. He knows what he did wrong to get caught. He has a high fight IQ and has demonstrated an ability to correct mistakes. They're 1-1 so the trilogy has to happen. Additionally, Francis was on the verge of gassing out in their last fight. Had it made it past the 2nd round, I think Stipe would have won again. Francis might be big and powerful, but his physique relies on catching people early. We saw how well that went in the first fight with Stipe.
The "I deserve" tactic only works for so long. The more he sits the more the division passes him by. Hell stipe hasn't even fought anybody in the current top 15 of the division. He is holding up the division. The same thing he accused other fighters if doing on his come up. He could fight an new prospect( like JDS did with him) like Tom or Chris and be right back at a title shot with 1 win.
As much as I hate to admit it, when Max Holloway was talking about 'elevator divas'; he was referring to Stipe Miocic among many other fighters. Stipe is the greatest UFC Heavyweight of all time, but you can't rely on your accolades forever to get title shots or rematches. He cashed in his rematch clause against DC and deservedly so, but today he has to earn it back again. All it'll take is a single win anyway, and he should fight someone not named Cormier or Ngannou for a change. He's fought just Francis and DC in his last 5 fights in a row!

Man ofc that francis improved drastically but stpe look of balance all the fight but kudos to francis he looked great good on him just i think he hurt because ngannou wobbled i could see it
@@madgavin7568 Not sure how many times this has to be repeated but Francis is the one who said Stipe hurt him.
Stipe Muchacho!
My dude stipe!
Stipe Vs Jon Jones
That would be an excellent fight
@Bones Cap
Nobody will ever beat Stipe's record of most HW title wins. That's something to be extremely proud of. I don't even think Francis will be able to defend his title once.
What about Ciryl Gane? Whoever wins that fight between him and Ngannou in January will likely reign over the division for a long time.
Big cage next time. In my opinion it's unfair for many fighters to fight in that Apex nowadays.
Him vs jon would be cool
I think stipe could have a pretty good run at lhw
Stipe: Arrerrrr ehidbskieubekkowkwmjsjjen
He makes a good point there
That's a nice pfp
Anyone can have a bad fight... if their is ever a legit case for a trilogy, this is it.
I always think my english is improving then I listen to stipe
🤣
Damn it guys, time stamps! Time stamps!
Stipe, if you want the trilogy quit the talking and show the company you deserve it, fight. If you get two wins against solid contenders you will get a shot again.
A trilogy will great. I'll be for Francis but still a huge huge respect for stipe
No champion has ever deserved a rematch more than Stipe. Most dominant champ in that weight class, won previously against the opponent he lost the belt too, the only reason they won’t do it cause of “business optics”
With the fireman stache
I don't get the jokes about how clear Stipe speaks. I understand more of what he says compared to Joe Biden.
Stipe needs subtitles LOL
He needs subtitles, sign language and audio description combined
Lol
Ariel you’re gonna have to put subtitles my guy, at some points it sounded like stipe was speaking Klingon.
13:18 just loop it and enjoy
🤣
21:02 was hilarious
Stipe HW GOAT
He can play Omni man
So underrated in the company
@Nigalas Cage The guy deserves more. Its not like the UFC pushed Stipe to be their posterboy. And its not like he is getting another shot against the champ
Ngannou vs Gane
Stipe vs Jones
Winner faces eachother.
Go win some more fights stipe
2-2 in last four
Need to win another like Francis did
upvote/like right away bc stipe the best
Stipe the real life “Superman”
The guy who once took Francis soul and rethink his career 😊
Stipe vs Jones makes sense.
What's Stipe Podcast??
Gotta love Stipe, but let's be honest, he is almost 40 years old. I wonder what could have been if he stopped firefighting and only focused on his mma career for the past 10 years. Would he still be champion today?
Stipe as a commentator, lol I’ll need a translator 😂😂😂
Love me some stipe
What I understood was. “Well yeah… yeah you know…. And uh yeah you know “
I advise everyobe to watch the full fight Stipe Miocic vs Francis Ngannou at UFC 220. And see how good of a fighter Stipe is.
You mean just laying on him not finishing him
Him and Joaquin Phoenix' could pass for brothers.
I don’t see him getting that belt back but I respect his bravery.
He’s the best heavyweight of all time. Don’t let the hype get to you 😉
Believe in Stiopic, he's crazy. He's got that crazy immigrant blood in him.
@@954buggy If that were the case Fedor would have never lost, but he did even though he was the best Heavyweight of all time. Face it, eras in the sport come and go.
Give him JJ in 2022
He definitely deserves a trilogy fight.
Ah, yes. Stiopic
Stipe giving some love out to the UFC legend Eddie Wineland.
1:10 Lmfao. That was funny but it's like serious coming from him
This guy fights like a rusty old robot from the wizard of Oz
I love Stipe, but I don’t want him to fight Francis again man. I think it’ll be the same outcome 😢
Stipe really looks like a fire fighter
Give stipe what he wants, it's what he deserves and it makes sense
@@madgavin7568 Max "0-2 against Volk, best win Aldo who lost already and 37 year old Frankie while struggling to beat 2 year off Yair" Holloway?
That guy?
@@user-sx6rm9uu7q atleast max is staying active. 2 close loses to Volk isn't something to be mad at. Volk is a great fighter. Yair is good too. You skipped over Max's wins over Katter and Ortega tho lol.
What the hell are you talking about? How is Stipe holding anything up? He just fought the top guy this year and got knocked out. What the hell are you on?
@@user-sx6rm9uu7q Irrelevant. He's stayed active and he's correct about the so-called 'elevator divas', as Stipe is one of them.
cool il chek out stipe podcast
the 5th one was wonderboy for the trivia
I love the guy but he should really fight someone else first if he wants to get those fights. He's a real case of out of sight out of mind. Jones Ngannou Gane have no interest in fighting a guy who just got koed. He needs to comeback and ko someone, then everyone will be calling for him to get a title shot next.
The GOAT right there!👏👏👏 my favourite fighter in the sport. 🙏🏴
