It just feels like our “evil” team isn’t that evil like I feel no threat from them. So when they were close to releasing Aarovos I would’ve been surprised if they’d actually been able to do it. Because nobody feels competent in this show anymore it feels like we waddle in circles or go down a slow moving stream for the whole season
Definitely! One of the biggest problems I had was that there was not threat. Things were always solved way too quickly, or the threat was just said that it theoretically exists. It makes everything lose so much gravity.
Claudia should have gutted that dragon and used it's bones to turn herself into a kaiju. And yeah none of the Bad Guys come across as that Bad. Viren straight up quit being a bad guy, Claudia just wants to dad to live, Terry is a Dweeb, and everyone says that Aaravos is this massive threat but we don't know how accurate Zubeia is and we don't know if his ultimate goals are even evil
@@UltraVioletKnight like they better do some heaving lifting for Aarovos like when he is released the world itself needs to change more dark more death. If not then I’ll have lost all faith
I personally really enjoyed watching this season, in my opinion it was really a big step up from season 4 which was just madly disappointing, I did feel like some things went unexplored or got less prioritised than the main stuff, like the Dragon Queen literally getting bitten by one of the corrupted creatures, only to end up I guess getting healed by that weird "Mushroom Mage"? That was a bit strange to me, I did like the way she "communicated" with the dead Dragon King, I think that was well done, I feel like they managed to pull off the multiple storylines better than they did in season 4, I like Claudia's arc, I think her and the wood blood elf are a nice couple, but I don't care much for them, I am happy that they didn't make a single joke about his farts in this season though, VERY happy actually, some things were predictable, but I didn't mind it that much, overall I really liked this season, I was watching it all in one session, and I enjoyed it
No further jokes is indeed a massive step up, but yea I just don't like Terry as a character... the Dragon Queen was so laughably bad though, I feel like they forgot about her too😄
@@nicolas._.2294I would say the mushroom is in the process of healing her. We don't know how far that corruption has progressed into the dragon Queen. It could take days or even months for her to get back on her feet
one thing I really dislike about the season is the Pacing, the start is confusing. the whole trip seems so weird, bc the evil team just ride a boat the whole time, while the others are going from one place to anotherand then are still on time. Also the ending seems so abrupt, cause we got no information about the aftermath of the last battle. it seems that those 9 episodes werent enough
Definitely! And the thing is, even with the official map, I had no idea where anyone was at any point, making it even harder to follow or even really care. The urgency was also lost with how slow everyone was
I kind of have a pet peeve against the scene where ezran held a speech for the dragons while Zubeia (the queen of the dragons btw) stood behind him without saying a word, like shouldn't she hold this speech? She was the one who informed us about the danger of Aaravos and it was in her interest also that he won't get released...
😂I haven't really thought about that, but yea it is odd... it's quite funny to me how if you pay attention, almost every background character is just staring off smiling as well, it's kinda weird
This scene seems to be only there for the trailer. It doesn't affect story. Janais storyline isn't affected. Claudias dragon scene gets worse, because letting the dragon escape means that it should alarm other dragons. Our heroes don't ride any of these dragons and chose a pirate ship instead. This scene exists nly for the trailers.
I think one fundamental flaw of the dragon prince is that they like to add stuff, but don't know when to cut stuff. I mean do we need 5 human kingdoms? All 6 primal sources and their elves? Why do we need pirates and dragon poachers. I don't think we need more episodes. In the first 3 seasons we had an interesting conflict between elves and humans. Even the side stories were good. In season 4 onward it seems that each character needs a certain amount of screentime.
I actually agree, while I do think that the idea of having all these different types of elves can definitely make it better, you have to make it make sense within the world they are in. You have to establish them as ...characters or groups that matter. Right now it feels so much like they just want to have new types of characters be things we haven't seen yet... which doesn't work on its own. Like a very obvious example is ...why does Scumport exist... literally there is no reason established other than, they needed a shady place for shady people. That doesn't work.
I dont have a problem for more for context and world building. Its just apparent they aren't willing/able to add the necessary episodes to properly remedy all of that. Which frankly I'd rather get more episodes then not. Since I'm frankly not a big fan of these mini seasons. I'd rathe have 3 solid seasons of something then the supposed 6-7 mini spurts that more or less feels like a shot and its gone vibe. There is not much to chew on unless you watch the entire show in bulk. At least for the newer stuff.
Yeah like the whole problem of stealing little buddies and making it dramatic I thought it was something important considering where the story is right now, like looking for Aaravo's prisionand all, but it was just... Cute mini baits
The biggest problem with the Dragon Prince is the 9 Episode structure. I feel like it would benefit the show greatly if each season had 12 episodes to flesh things out.
I find Sol Regem much more interesting in Season 5. He told Karim, "I lost all hope before I lost my eyes." This indicated Sol Regem knew he was not a good ruler and his blinding solidified his self-loathing. In addition, the idea Sol Regem would've allowed Callum to pass into Xadia if he did not use Dark Magic is unique considering the broken Archdragon of the Sun hates humans. Finally, Sol Regem no longer guards the border but instead lives in a cave in darkness and isolation during the two-year time-skip, likely learning that the dragons and the elves accepted humans following the Battle of the Storm Spire. I believe Sol Regem's story would end with Sol Regem advising Karim not to follow his mistakes (considering Sol Regem was an embodiment of the Sunfire Elves' culture and tradition), cleansing Lux Aurea, and being killed by Aaravos following the Startouch Elf's release.
I really like this. I definitely think they have such a great opportunity to make Sol Regem such an interesting Character. Him being the one to have been the Dragon King when humans first used Dark Magic already makes him interesting, but I think they could build on his character so well!
@@TheGlowingHay Also, Aaravos said Infantis Sanguine is an ancient spell. I believe Kim'dael discovered Infantis Sanguine and taught it to Aaravos, possibly her true master, comrade, or friend. Zubeia did say every major crisis in Xadia is caused by Aaravos. I think this is the case because Luna Tenebris disappeared under a Blood Moon and Kim'dael tried to assassinate Sunfire Queen Aditi before Aaravos finished the job himself.
It was cool to see Sol Regem again. He came across as more sympathetic than he ever was in the previous seasons. Still as grumpy as ever but all of his, pun intended, fire has gone out. He just can't be bothered to care anymore, perhaps knowing that Zubeia is personal friends with multiple humans and Xadia as a whole has accepted them. Karim was vastly improved in this season too. Overall, I actually think Season 4 is better than Season 5 - controversial take, I know, but Season 4 had more standout scenes and the episode named after an Archdragon allowed us to actually get to KNOW that Archdragon instead of just having it show up in the last 2 minutes - but the latter certainly did improve in some areas and Karim was one of them. In Season 4, it's kind of "who the fuck is this jabroney?" whenever he's onscreen. In Season 5, I actually felt bad for him when he was forced to leave behind his mothers ring, partially because it was clear that the guard only ordered him to do so out of sadistic spite. He literally dropped he ring on the ground as Karim walked away, having absolutely no intention of giving it to Janai.
I am thinking immortal Laurelion, a possible Startouch Elf, was very close with Aaravos and her death solidified Aaravos’s hatred for Elves and Dragons. Elarion might be named after Laurelion. She may be the statue we see at the Sea of the Castout.
I like the little treasures I encountered in this season, even if overall it wasn't as good as other seasons have been. #1:Canonically, Viren and Aaravos made a baby together. #2: Aaravos's smoothness melting away the second Viren initially walked away , getting real mad... ticked off not-so-charming-now Aaravos is very entertaining to watch. #3:Aaravos informing Viren he has a third child, and saying that their baby was so cute;blew my mind Red Guy-style. #4:Aaravos on that shell in the credit art. Not sure what it's referencing, but I like the drawing. #5:Callum taking a bath, also credit art. #6:Ezran totally oblivious as he spoke of sitting on his throne, and the immense pressure of his kingly duty.
Hahaha it did have its moments for sure! As I said in the video, the re-leaving therapy caught me so off guard and I thought it was so funny for some reason. Like just the pun...
In season 5, it really felt like the Callum, Ezran, Rayla etc group were no longer the protagonists. Much more emphasis was put on the villains. (Both Claudia's group and the fire elf prince's). I just found the heroes to be much less compelling and relatable than the villains. I actually liked Terry this season unlike last season. Still, I think both season 4 & 5 are considerably worse than the first 3 seasons. I hope The Dragon Prince will get better but at this point, I don't think that's very likely.
I agree! I think they try to make us care about too many people, that we end up caring about ...noone, and I think they take it for granted that we love our main heroes and care about them, that they don't feel like they have to put any effort into it anymore
My pet peeve for this season was how quickly Rayla was disarmed in pretty much every fight. She seemed rather incompetent and not like a trained assassin elf. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't she really good at fighting in season 1?
Who was the guy on the coin that Rayla picked up? Was he Viren’s mentor? Why was that a thing? Why did Callum’s parent-freeing spell for Rayla just get forgotten about? Why did Aaravos not think to include “The First Elves” in his concealment spell? It’s another name for Startouch Elves! Why did they mention “all manner of corrupted creatures” when apparently Lux Aurea is full of nothing but corrupted Banthers? Seriously, no other corrupted creatures show up. Why did they mention needing to find the Nova Sword then go to Aaravos’ prison without it? Why was Zym there at all? He did nothing all season. Why did Miyana not help Kareem earlier? Why was the Blood Moon elf involved? She didn’t get the Sunstone, but Kareem got it anyway… so what was the point? Why was Zubeia bitten and corrupted, only to get healed so quickly? What was the point?! This season was the epitome of “treading water” (pun intended). My biggest hatred was Killigran. What an utter waste of time. First he wants to get Bait to capture a Leviathan, but then he reveals he has something more valuable, which turns out to just be 3 more glowtoads (I know they’re babies but still). THEN he wants Callum to tell him the Dark Magic so he can kill the Arch Dragon of the Sea, but THEN Callum punches him in the face, so when Callum tells him what he needs, he just says “ nah I don’t need that anymore, I’m just gonna feed your friend to the Leviathen instead”. What. The. Hell? PICK. A. PLOTLINE! People really think this is better than season 4? The biggest sin was that the 2nd season of “The Mystery of Aaravos” ark gave us NO new information on Aaravos! Still evil, still trapped. That’s it. I think Zubeia giving his entire back story in a condensed exposition dump in season 4 was the biggest error this show has made so far. I’m not one to aimlessly criticise, so here’s my alternative. I would have had Callum (not Janai) be the one having horrific dreams about Aaravos. These dreams could have SHOWN us what happened with the dragons, the “human girl” and Queen Aditi in EPIC flashback sequences like the Sol Regem one in book 3. This could give us LOADS more of Aaravos without him needing to appear in the main story. The big reveal could be that Callum’s close proximity to the “key of Aaravos” cube is actually imbuing him with some of Aaravos’ magic. THIS is why he’s able to understand several Arcanum’s so easily. Aaravos can control all primal sources and Callum has managed to tap into it via the magic cube he’s had in his possession the ENTIRE TIME! Clean. Precise. Exciting. RELEVANT! Seriously though guys. Callum literally has “The Key of Aaravos” and has had it since early in book 1. He found out it’s name in book 2 and STILL isn’t really mentioning this to anyone! To fix Killigran, here’s my thought. The first few episodes surround the cursed coins and how they could free Rayla’s parents. Killigran literally flips a coin as part of his character. They could have made it a CURSED coin! Maybe his former first mate is trapped inside it because he didn’t want to help him kill Domina. Maybe Killigran knows someone who did the coin spell for him, so he could then help them to free Rayla’s parents. Saves time AND gives him purpose! Maybe don’t have the archdragon Domina give all the information to Ezran at the beginning of the season. Instead have them need to find her for her information throughout this season, while Killigran wants to kill her as well. Conflict! Scrap the leviathan thing completely. Make Killigran’s one goal to kill Domina for revenge, all the while knowing they need him alive to get the secret of the cursed coins as well. Seriously, this show was so tight and focused in the first 3 seasons. What happened? It’s like the writers didn’t even expect to get 7 seasons
This is so well written! Tha k you so much for this! I agree that it's always better to give ideas on what to have done instead, rather than just saying "it wasn't good", but for me ...I was going to make videos on it xd I think you really precisely pointed put many writing holes and that is something I am getting into with the next videos as well!
Thanks for the kind words. I look forward to your videos! In prior videos you pointed out some stuff in book 4 I hadn’t thought about at the time. I just felt so baffled by this season’s meandering around that I had to offer my own thoughts. Peace and love. 👍
Also the flashback showed the “human girl” holding the cube so THAT could be how she beat Aaravos in the past. She mastered multiple primal sources from the cube as well. It ties things up really neatly.
My Theory on The Dragon Prince Season 6: Stars Team Zym will take Aaravos' Prison Pearl to Sunfire Queen Janai for protection. At the same time, Aaravos tells Claudia Viren is dead and use his death to solidify her vengeance against Team Zym and their allies. With Claudia firmly at his side, he will instruct her to meet Kim'dael, Aaravos' loyal assassin. Aaravos had her assassinate Luna Tenebris and later sent her to kill Aditi until her imprisonment via the neck collar Aditi tricked her into wearing. Because of the incident, Aaravos personally killed Aditi by swallowing her soul. Meanwhile, Karim and his followers heal Sol Regem and start an invasion to usurp Janai. However, Aaravos escapes his prison with Claudia and Kim'dael's help leading to an eventual duel between Aaravos and Sol Regem. Aaravos wins and plans to head to the Starscraper to retrieve the Nova Blade and the Corona of the Heavens' crown: two artifacts he needs to invade and destroy the Startouch Elves. At the Sea of the Outcast, there were statues of a possible Startouch Elf Queen giving a depressed Aaravos her hand. Her relationship with Aaravos is unclear: sister? lover? friend? It is unclear, but we might see her in Season 6: Stars of the Dragon Prince. Regarding Sir Sparklepuff, I think Aaravos genuinely wants to save Viren as he looked very shocked when Viren refused to sacrifice Sir Sparklepuff for his life. This may indicate that Aaravos is grateful to anyone who helps him even though they are his chess pawns.
There’s some good point that could be used for season 6, but how is Claudia meant to interact with Aaraous? I think their only means of communication was through the worm/bug Aaraous had and now it’s gone. I don’t think it was the same way as with Viren, as in, I don’t think Claudia could/can see him, unless I’m mistaking. And how is Claudia meant to free Aaraous? Callum has the key, so Aaraous would need Callum to unlock his prison. Also it’s implied that Callum will be a big part of his plan, so I think something else need to happen for Aaraous to escape. And I’m not to sure about the fight between Sol Regam and Aaraous, since I think Aaraous would have no problem killing a dragon. Evan a dragon like Sol. So the fight would be to easy. I know I already commented on this post on a different video, just thought i’d post my thoughts here to.
Warning: LONG COMMENT but not boring. At the end I have my revised version of season 5 which I THINK is just a fixed version of season 5. It was very confusing in the beginning. The first couple episodes of season 5 were vague and felt like a nothing burger. I wish that Domina Profundis had gotten more screentime than literally just TWO MINUTES as it would have helped to make the conflict between her and Fennegrin more believable. While the great bookery is cool, it has a bunch of build up which amounts to nothing. Corvus and Amaya intend to sacrifice themselves when it really dosent feel like they would be at the point of wanting to sacrifice themselves. Amaya just randomly speaking was really goofy and the fact that they both get away easily disengaged me from the intensity of the situation. Zubeia as well just kind of shows up for the plot convenience but I can excuse that as she actually ends up being bitten. It is a bit unsatisfying with how we don't find out what truly happened to her as we see some mushroom mage who kinda just shows up and throws some green light at her. But we never see the effect of that light and it's hard to tell if the mushroom mage is even real as the way he's drawn with the combination of Zubeias previous hallucinations makes him seem not real. The next few episodes are nice. I enjoyed Karim and Pharos trying to get the help of Sol Regem. Kim'dael was alsi cool. Although I didnt read the comics and at first wanted to know more about who she was. Her character dosent need much explaining and part of her character is the mystery of who she is. I wasn't bothered by Villads showing up again. It seemed like a logical progression of his character for him to visit scumport. Fennegrin is also REALLY COOL and I love how in Fennegrin's Deck (or whatever the episode was called I forgot) I'm glad the writers didn't shy away from him physically torturing Callum and Rayla. It makes him feel like an actual threat unlike *cough cough* Claudia. Again however, the way he's just simply thrown overboard and dies that way is disengaging to the story. Anyway the last episode is PHENOMENAL. I like how the title of the episode means "blood of child" in Latin that was a nice touch. Claudia feels like a real threat for once and Virens confrontation with Aaravos feels legitimate. ONE thing I'm confused about though is that if the spell needed to make Virens resurrection permanent is a dark magic spell. Why would they need Aaravos to do the spell instead of just doing it themselves. They could have just said the spell needed star magic and that's it but oh well. The ending is also heart-wrenching seeing Claudia with one leg and Viren's death. All those vague images from the beginning of the season finally make sense after Viren's short but powerful monolouge. It really makes you recall previous events which cements those events in your head. Miyana bringing Karim the sun seed is also cool and foreshadows the return of Sol Regem. Infantis Sanguine was really just the perfect episode to be honest. And yeah this season was pretty good. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best. I say season 5 deserves a 7.5. Im not one to just complain though so here is my revised season 5 plan. Revised Season 5: First of all were giving Domina Profundis more screentime as she is going to be important later on. She could feel a sense of urgency about the Aaravis issue and travel with Zubeia, Soren, Corvus, and Ezran back to the storm spire to discuss plans on what to do in the event that Aaravos escapes. We also are gonna cut out a lot of unnecessary scenes like the stargazing scene from the first 3 episodes to condense them into two episodes. That missing third episode will be SOLELY about Claudia, Terry, and Viren. We will move the majority of the scenes of Viren's dreamspace here. What space is left in the episode will be Claudia telling Terry what she told Ezran in Season 2. How her mother left and now Soren as well. All she has left in this world is Viren. This way we get to recall previous events and see Terry try and comfort Claudia. From now on Terry takes Claudia's mission far more seriously. The Great Bookery just needs a minor change. Amaya dosent try to sacrifice herself and hops on Zubeia. Zubeia Flys them away from Lux Aurea where it seems like the tension is gone. Until they get attacked by something else, corrupted carrion gulls. We can say them being corrupted made them fly out of their usual lands and Zubeia ends up being infected by one of the carrion gulls. I really only added them in so we could see other corrupted life other than banthers, but we are still on track. The gang heads back to the storm spire where Domina tells them of the Novablade and how it can kill a startouch elf. They meet Archmage Aikyu and go to Scumport. They find Villads and Nyx and get chased by Fennegrin. This sequence of events stays the same except for the end. As they are about to be captured by Fennegrin, Ezran tells Zym to go find help. Zym flies away and we get to see Fennegrin's ruthlessness as he casts an ocean spell to try and take down Zym but luckily Zym escapes. Episode 8 also receives a minor change ti the end. After Sorens speech to Elmer causes him to revolt against Fennegrin, and the rest of the crew joins in. Fennegrin manages to overpower all his crew and as he is about to kill Elmer. A huge wave rocks the boat and knocks him off. Zym is back and shocks the teams chains to free them. In fear Fennegrin tries to drive the boat away when a long tail slithers around him and grabs him. It's Domina Profundis again, and she recognizes Fennegrin. She re-iterates her previous warning and how Fennegrin defied her. Fennegrin pleads for mercy and surprisingly Domina let's him go. To really show how irredeemable Fennegrin is though, he realizes this is his chance to kill Domina. He uses Magic on her and she retaliate before easily overpowering him. She says how she knew this would happen and how she was just making sure she was right before killing him. We see Domina roar and Fennegrin scream before the camera cuts away and shows a large wave. Fennegrin is dead and Domina than tells them that they don't have much time and they must move quick. Episode 8 however ends with a short scene that shows Zubeia fully corrupted and a close up on her eye. Episode 9 begins with Corrupted Zubeia flying around zapping random things. Her corruption causes her to be irrational and in a dark place mentally. While she had learned to grieve Avizandums death instead of getting revenge on the human kingdoms. Her corruption pushes her to the edge and she begins flying to Katolis to exact revenge on the humans that took her Avizandum away. The rest of episode 9 happens and the gang now his Aaravos, and Karim has the sun seed. Tensions are as high as ever in Xadia, and well have to see what Season 6 has in store... Ps: thank you for reading all of this. I really appreciate someone taking the time to hear what I have to say.
I really like a lot of the changes you suggested! The fact you took the time to actually give things you think would have worked better is also really great in general! I would have loved to see Domina Profundis be more in this Season and that generally threats would be more present rather than just ...theoretical. My next video will go more into why I don't think the Pirate Storyline worked, and while I understand my takes might be harsh, it's nice to see I'm not the only one with some of my thoughts m
Hey! This season was a bit better than season 4 but I was disappointed that the plot barely moved forward! Like I wanted more aarovos and more info on his motives etc. Also was disappointed they didn't show more of the "water" elves. I was super excited to go to the ocean see their culture only for it to be replaced by the pirate arc. However this season was still a bit better than the last.
It was definitely more fun than the last one but the fact the actual storyline can be summarised in a few sentences, makes it not only uneventful, but skippable, which is something you should try to avoid at all costs
You’re so right. I was also hoping to learn more about aaravos since the previous season was called “mystery of aaravos” and then have him barely in it. At least they could’ve showed him more like like his astral projection or him possessing Callum again. And yeah, totally annoyed the book was called ocean and we only saw 1 tidebound elf. We also barely saw any earthblood culture, and you’d think since the Xadian borders are open, humans would explore more? They should show off Xadia way more than they did. Also since Startouch creatures are so rare, we probably won’t get anything cool out of that so they should explore the others reason just as much as the sunfire arc
I think season 6 will get better since its name will be Stars. Because when you look at the credit scene, there's a picture of the Key of Aaravos which shows three sources, Earth, Ocean, and Stars. It was in book one and I think it represented book names in phase 2. And to end it, I think in the next season, Aaravos will return to the world.
I will say it was better than season 4 (which i don't think was very good), but not by that much. There were a lot of things that happened that just... didn't have to. Like the whole thing with Zubeia. They would have known she had been injured (cause they would have seen it), and they knew what that would do, and it seems like the way they presented it no one knew except Soren, which kind of confused me. There was also the whole confrontation with the pirate guy. There was no reason to steal the toads, and it seems like Ezran didn't even tell them what they were stealing before they actually took it, which strikes me as odd. My biggest issue was the attitudes of the group. There's all this catastrophizing about the world ending and stuff (and it's not too extreme to say that's what would happen if Aaravos was released), but they all seem really relaxed and not in a rush at all. It sort of feels like up to the very last episode the main conflict is put to the side in favour of one-off pirate villains. Even though it was the same length as every other season, it felt way shorter (and this applies to season 4 as well) because not a lot really happened, and what did happen was very unexplained; like what you mentioned with the "Rayla Problem" as well as stuff like that whole sequence with Domina Profundis at the very beginning. In summary, 6/10, 7 if I'm being generous. Season 2 is still the best.
Definitely! I really agree with you, and honestly, Season 2 was probably my favourite overall as well. I think the first part of S3 (Ep1-3) is probably my favourite section, but overall S2 is definitely a contender
I liked how The Dragon Prince's first three seasons made the Moonshadow Elves, Skywing Elves, Sunfire Elves, and Aaravos (Startouch Elf) mysterious and ethereal. But the Earthblood Elves and the Tidebound Elves just look like normal human beings with elvish makeup. I expected to see the designs of the Earthblood Elves and the Tidebound Elves portrayed in Callum's Spellbooks. They should've introduced a Tidebound Elf Atlantis-like city instead of Scumport and had the ocean antagonist be a ruthless Cthulhu Ocean Dragon. Season 4 and Season 5 just prove how some of the Dragons and the Elves are entitled hypocrites who call humans evil when many dark events occurred because of the actions of both Elves and Dragons: War of Blood and Ash, Human-Elvish Pirates killing the Empress of the Deep, and Finnegran's attempt to assassinate Domina Profundis. The problem with the Mystery of Aaravos is that it will be hard to watch Season 4 and Season 5 again because they did not provide a satisfying setup to reveal Aaravos' full backstory.
Probably Aarovos full back story will be explored next season book 6 Star along with the Sol dragon over throning the dragon queen and kicking all human characters out of Xadia and the sunfire elf queens brother capture and tried to end Amaya infront of her and Aarovos escaping next season and possibly Aarvos controls Viren in order to kill Soren or their on child they made together
@@leonarddugas6055 I think it will be great to see Aaravos freed in Lux Aurea and dueling Sol Regem in a Startouch Elf vs Archdragon of the Sun battle. We know they once fought before when Aaravos saved the humans of Elarion (ancestors of the Human Kingdoms) from Sol Regem's wrath following Ziard's sacrifice.
I definitely would have loved to actually care about the elves and their world, but for some reason the show really struggles with that. Like I just remember when we first saw Raylas Village, and then the heavy hitting fact that they were ghosted. Completely new concepts with new characters at new locations, but we cared because it was something close to us! I feel like the writers forgot that we aren't in their head where the entire world of Xadia lives. We only have what they give us..
@@leonarddugas6055 Honestly, I don't think we need anymore backstory for Aaravos. I'm content to have him remain a Satanic figure with a mysterious past. You're not supposed to sympathise with Satan and we got enough information about Aaravos from Zubeia in the previous season.
In my opinion season 5 was great . The only thing i didnt like was the boat trip . The pirate arc was great and i think that the animation was much better this season .
I actually really enjoyed this season. Yes, it had problems, but I felt it advances things better than last season. I do think that this season had a lot of things going on at once and could have benefited by having another episode or making the run time just a little longer. But overall it was entraining and I didn't feel bored so that is a win. Looking forward to what they'll do next, that ending though was just depressing. (Also, I like Claudiuia's boyfriend. I feel like he acts to show how far Claudiuia has gone. But I think they are going to break up.)
I think they will break up too. I really want to like him, but his decisions are so frustrating and the way claudia treats him makes him feel not like a real character
You are right about the ending. I was so sure that they would finally free Aaravos. That way they would have had one season to show what he is really capable of, and then the last one to make the final battle
Hay Everyone! Welcome back, or welcome for the first time! Thank you so much for watching, I hope you enjoyed, any feedback to the video itself is more than welcome since I want to improve! How did you like the Season though? Were you let down like me, or did you have a blast? Enjoy!
i just really wish we got to see more of Aaravos. like he’s the main villain and he was barely in this season. second season of “mystery of Aaravos” yet we literally have gotten no new information about him.
Definitely! I really feel like they had too many things packed into the Season, that Aaravos took a backseat in the Season leading up to ...like his biggest Season..
My problem with this season as with season 4 is that the big new threats get washed with ease. Karim for example had potential in season 4 only to get washed by his sister, then season 5 showed some interesting ideas with bringing back sol regem and the blood huntress. So, he plans this only to get washed by Amaya and basically called a complete goofball and moron by his sister because he somehow didnt think his sister would know about the blood moon huntress. There is no real fear of the new antagonist since they are quickly resolved, karim did nothing accomplished nothing and got his goal handed to him at the very end Another thing on the antagonists is Finnegrin, I actually rocked with Finnegrin he was looking like a threat out here cut throat character ocean magic giving us some of the best scenes of the season. Then this man got ruined by bad writing for them to defeat him by telling the crew exactly what it doesnt work with his abilities then soren "talk no jutsu" this mans lacky and he got tossed and eaten 5 seconds later. W O W what a waste
I think the seasons could be longer/have less plot lines. All that aside, I think Season 5 is genuinely good and much better than Season 4. I think the problem might be a structural one for this "saga". I also think Viren is phenomenal and I loved the Rayllum and Janaya moments.
I definitely agree that this season was much better! Especially our heroes! I think it strayed away from the formula they used to use, where every 3 episodes, there was one connecting plot. This time everything just happens when it happens, and it makes the season feel paced so weirdly
This whole season (plus season 4) felt like one giant filler and side quests xd everybody's just existing, I was bored like hell. I don't feel anything when characters are expieriencing something dramatic. It's amazing how much I don't care and I know the show wants me to. I really dislike Rayla, like seriously, what happened, why is she sooo bad. A lot of drama surrounding especially her seems contrived, like why did she have to lie to Callum? like what for? also, Ezran... I get it that they want him to be like Aang and not want to kill anyone, but, not considering kiling Aaravos as a first choice is very irresponsible and stupid. Soren still feels kinda useless to me, like i feel he could be so much more and he's just there, providing emotional support that I personally find a bit annoying. a bit of a different issue as well, I have no sense of geography in this world, like we see Karim walking on dessert and suddenly he's like in some forest and yead, it is just infuriating that Aaravos almost doesn't get screentime. Also I'm still wondering what' up with the Mystery of Aaravos subtitle - I guess it is a mystery cause he remains mysterious forever xd
I agree with you on all points. I literally have a map of Xadia hanging beside me, and while watching I tried to follow where people were, and it was impossible. I feel like it's reverse world building at this point...
Killing aravos could fail because the poem could be a half truth or a lie or aravos could be prepare for the way of killing him and escape them if they let him out to kill him
I think the problem is that this was an arc that felt unnecessary because we already did it. Her actions make sense for a character that hasn't already gone through that arc, but now it just feels recycled and used to force conflict which then feels pointless.
This is exactly how I feel, it feels like we waste sm time doing nothing. All this could’ve been condensed to a season if they tried harder and got rid of the 90 c plots they have going on
I felt the same (????) after watching. It's quite odd to see the show be so poorly paced/have strange priorities? since it which was previously paced so tightly, every scene contributing new info about the characters, world, and/or progressing the plot. Season 5 was very much all over the place and I felt a LOT of whiplash, sometimes important stuff like emotional moments felt unearned or just. Not quite right? I think it was more of an execution issue than the overall plot not being as good if that makes sense? I don't understand why the 'steal the glowtoads' arc happened either... why that ended up being the placement and reason for Callum's second use of Dark Magic is also beyond me, the whiplash between the "Marketable Baby Glowtoads" episode and the "Let's Torture Callum" episode left me in tatters, and not in the way I think was intended. 😬 I found Viren's story really compelling too though! The whole concept of him realizing what he has done and how his actions are modeleing the same downfalls for Claudia, damn, that's a really awesome way to take him. He's realizing too late what he was like from an outsider perspective and is losing the chance to save his daughter (and we finally get some insight into what he felt about things like more or less abandoning Soren) his actions have left horrible scars on the world and he's realizing all of that much too late, maybe too late to save Claudia if things go the way I think they will. That story aspect was my favorite this season, even if I was still getting whiplash at times with that as well.
Yup I agree. It's sad to see since they seemed to nail so much of that the first 3 Seasons. It's slowly getting better though, so I hope S6 will take us right back to that!
@@TheGlowingHayabsolutely! I'm still looking forward to whatever comes next. :) kinda wanna rewatch now and see if my thoughts have changed at all since initial viewing.
Honestly, same, I watched S4 again recently, but like I know that one was whack so I expected it to be ...I haven't gotten back to S5 recently because I'm worried I'll like it less
I'm so happy to say that I'm excited about this show again. I couldn't even finish season 4 because I thought the show wasn't the same anymore. But this season was a pleasant surprise. The plot aside, it had really nice animation and environments. However, I have to agree with your criticism. It felt like there were too many plot points and too little time. I wouldn't mind if there had been more focus on the ocean and exploration. Zubeia getting hurt felt more serious than it needed to be; we didn't see any corruption happen. I also didn't think the Blood Moon Huntress deserved the hype, but Finnegran was actually a good antagonist because we got to see him in power. Claudia, though, she got defeated pretty easily. Surprisingly enough, it's actually nice to see Viren's redemption now. However, it really makes me sad that Aaravos is just in the background when he used to be so important. Also, you're not the only one who doesn't like Terry. It's just weird that someone like him would be with Claudia. On the other hand, I'm happy to say that I liked Soren this season, and I also appreciated the moment between Reyla and Amaya.
I'm really glad that this Season brought you back! I think this season was really well animated as well, I especially like the expressions! It definitely struggles with quite a few things still, I just hope they figure it all out before the next Season. I'm also really happy about Viren's Story Arc!
I gotcha! Thank you so much for the kind words! I just would love to build a community, and ...idk, I'm still just a person, and I don't want it to feel like I'm some voice talking my points down to viewers 😄
5:20 dude, you lost me there "You enter scumport. The first thing you see is a guy in a little ragged shopping booth selling things made with parts of a very rare sea beast. IT'S TOTALLY NOT A SCAM DUDE I SWEAR" The very next merchant they show us is selling essencial oils. The message is pretty clear
Well I see your point, and I'm assuming you mean that it isn't actually leviathan meat, but you can see it hanging above him, so I feel like it still sends confusing messages, and I think he is supposed to be selling actual Leviathan Meat. But I understand what you mean.
This was a definite step up from S4 but still got it's issues. Karim and the whole Sunfire elves storyline drags a lot and is very uninteresting. Our main villains were in like 4 episodes tops and they spent one of them shaking their arse?? The pirate story arc was saved by Callum learning the ocean arcanum otherwise I wa quick to write it off as filler. Luckily the ending and Virens entire arc this season saved it massively
Definitely agree! Generally Claudia and Terry have really just fallen off, luckily Viren takes the spotlight there though. I think the Blood moon huntress is such a cool edition, but it's done so weirdly, where just out of nowhere this overpowered being is there now
@@TheGlowingHay definitely agree. Blood moon huntress is such a cool idea but her integration felt like a desperate last minute edition to make the Sunfire storyline more interesting. It's just yet another McGuffin quest. Too many objects of power and too many disconnected storylines
I agree with all the points you make here! I personally, enjoyed Season 5 but I have my gripes with it. One of my biggest issues with Season 4 was that the characters didn't feel like themselves. Season 5 was a step in the right direction in terms of characterization but it still feels a little off. I'm hoping next season that the characters feel like themselves again to me.
Honestly, I am really glad you enjoyed the season. The content is made to be enjoyed and just because it wasnt for me, I am so glad you could enjoy it!. This was definitely generally a step in the right direction, but it just didn't quite get there yet which is sad because the first Seasons were really great!
@@TheGlowingHay Exactly! I'm glad that even though you didn't enjoy this season you respect others that do! Your feelings are articulated in a very respectful and non harassing way. :D
Here's a huge issue with Season 5. It's called The Dragon Prince, yet the only thing Zym did throughout the entire season was stop himself, Callum, Ezran and Rayla from being digested. Outside of that, he just tagged along whilst having absolutely nothing to contribute to the story. It's like the writers forgot the title of the whole show. Remember when Zym disobeyed his mother because he wanted to help in Season 4? Or when he outright attacked Rex Igneous for insulting his late father? Despite not being able to speak, Zym was full of personality but now he's little more than a pet. Hell, Stella had more impact on the narrative than Zym did because she was the reason Rayla managed to mutilate Claudia and stop her from reaching Aaravos' prison.
To be honest, I enjoyed this season. I'm not a die-hard TDP fan, I've really only seen the show and not a ton outside it besides what's on the official website. I really liked the Blood Moon Huntress and to be honest, I had no idea that there was more information in the side material until I watched this video, but I still really liked her. I also felt fine with the Rayla thing back last season. For me, it gets me further into the story and makes me want to search out those things that give these ideas more lore. I like a certain bit of mystery when watching things. I don't know if other people who've gone in blind see it that way, but I at least haven't had a problem with it (except with Terry, I agree he's kinda weird and forced but he's one of my only character complaints and even then I don't notice it as much when I'm watching just in retrospect). I also don't know if this is just a me thing, but I'm fine with how little of Aaravos we get. Of course, I would always want and will be open to more content of him, but I also feel like there is a reason he's being held back. For an in-universe reason, it's because he's only really able to interact with Viren, and although we got that amazing dream sequence with his (Viren's) backstory, that also meant that we didn't have as much time for Aaravos. There's only so much Aaravos can do on his own and I can't really think of a way for him to organically appear in the story right now outside of with Viren (but again, he already had a huge plotline and is kinda dying right now so he's not concerned with much else outside of Claudia). And even if he did, what would he do? I don't think he'd tell Viren more than he already has about his past, and again there's not much Viren can really do right now for them to feel worth the extra plotline. We only get little bits and pieces, but for me it's enough to keep his story entertaining. My guess is now that the team has the prison, we'll be getting a lot more Aaravos content (specifically between him and Callum). For me, a majority of these last two seasons have been setting up for Aaravos' big return and the inner conflict inside Callum. It's heavily hinted this season that he again performed dark magic, and we can see that those choices are really causing him a lot of pain through his interrogation with the Captain. I can easily see Aaravos trying to use this to his advantage and slowly try to sway Callum to his side through this inner turmoil. And even if it doesn't work, we have seen Aaravos be able to possess Callum, so that could also possibly return and the team might have to temporarily fight Callum while Aaravos is possessing him (which would honestly be super cool to watch). So I guess, in conclusion, these past two seasons are mostly setup, and while I agree that a lot can be improved, I also trust and hope that a lot of these loose ends will end up being tied up in the future. Until then, I've greatly enjoyed this season and will look forward to the future. My apologies if my reasoning is a bit confusing.
I am really glad you enjoyed the Season! I'm surprised that you actually see it as a positive that there are unexplained things, but it's interesting to hear. I personally tried doing that more with this Season, and it only made it more confusing. I'm glad to see not everyone sees it that way, and I love this universe, so if it gets you to explore it more, then great! These seasons have definitely been setup, which is fine in of itself, but that can't be the whole identity of a Season... it can be the main purpose, but I still want to watch content and not just filler to build up things. I think this Season was definitely stronger than the last and can't wait to see how they thread together all of our character developments
i hoped last season was setting a tone and a goal for the rest of the series to have a proper foundation... this season, again feels like that but this time I am very much less willing to forgive it for that. i dont know what happened post season 3 on the writing staff here but something seems weird. both these seasons feel aimless without structure, things just... happen... yes, callum's interest in the ocean arcanum is setup but it's not even close to a character arc, it's mentioned twice and then he just... does it? the idea of letting go of things you can't control couldve easily been a theme in this season, claudia is not able to let go and needs to control everything, while callum learns to let go, first trying and failing but when it really matters, that's when it clicks and he does his magic. really, it's not that hard to come up with, and i can't for the life of me imagine what happened in the writers room to end up with what we got instead. I will give them credit for one thing, the way the adventure goes, is super realistic, because in the real world stuff DOES just happen, info does come up and then go nowhere but you know why stories dont usually do that? because it's confusing and chaotic and makes for a incoherent story. to me, what it seems like is that this team has a story they want to tell which does not fit into the format they're given, and rather than trying to adpat what they want to tell, they're cramming it all in. between season 1,2 and 3 there was a pretty clear dividing event and goal, season 1 end when zym is born, season 2 ends when they get to xadia, season 3 ends with the climax of the whole story up to that point. But what is the dividing line between season 4 and 5? at the end of season 4 is seemed Viren's use of dark magic might be the closest thing we got, the race to aaravos? This season really wants you to believe it's about that race to the prison, but it's not. it's made clear right away that even if claudia finds it, she's gonna be lacking other required info, which takes away any tension rigth from the start of the season and while team good guys keep mentioning this race, it really isn't the subject of their story, they are just going all over the place having whacky adventures which just so happen to bring them into the direction of the prison. then there is the sword, the diamonds, callum using dark magic again... all setup to be paid of in season 6/7 surely. and setting up thigns for later seasons is fine and makes things feel very well conencted... AFTER you make sure that this season has a damn story... which it doesn't in a few years time, watching all this back, it'll likely feel like 2 big season that's horrible paced because logically, this should be where the heroes hit their lowest point but due to it being cut up into seperate seasons, they have to win at the end of the season. Highly disappointed with the direction the series is going. i will still be watching season 6 if/when it is released but at this point it's out of habit and because I love the little scenes we get of aaravos and rayla/callum are adorable but that's about it at this point.
I completely agree with you, I am working on videos analysing the different plot lines and why they don't work, the first one coming out tomorrow! I completely agree with your analysis though, and yes, it feels like they had an endgame in mind, and now struggle to create the story to get to that point...
Umm you never read the books or the stories on the website have you?. If yku did you would understand. Actually just the short stories online. Your criticisms are very lazy, because if you wanted to know you could of.
I understand your point, but I hope you can see that if you have to go out of your way to consume other content to make it a little better, doesn't make the actual content better. I am taking the Season at face value, I have read most things there are to read, and I love the overall story and world, I think it's great! Sadly that doesn't make the actual content we were given within Season any better...
The highs were very high and every story thread was solid imo. I thought the blood huntress wasn't that complex, smth went down with the old royalty and her and shes bound to them and the brother used her to get back to power, not sure it needed to be any more deep.
I'm really glad you liked the season! I guess it's fair that the story of The Bloodmoon Huntress could stay at that, I think that the creators wanted to create something really special with the character though, and bringing some ...pact? Out of nowhere just seems a little uninspired
😄OK, with that one I genuinely feel like the writers were on some things and then realised they completely forgot about a character and someone opened with "but imagine like a crazy mushroom elf..." and no one stopped them
As someone part of the Deaf community, I love Amaya, but why this season is no one else signing to her?! Yes, Gren can interpret, but the myth needs to die that deaf people can rely on reading lips! Even with context, hearing and non-hearing people trained to read lips can only understand about 30% of what is said! So why are all the characters not consciously including her into conversations?! Like, LOOKING at her! And signing for themselves to speak with her?! I want to scream at Callum, “YOU KNOW ASL! WHY AREN’T YOU TALKING WITH YOUR AUNT?! INCLUDE HER!” “JANAI! YOU ARE HER LOVE! SIGN WHEN YOU SPEAK TO HER SO SHE CAN UNDERSTAND YOU!” TDLR: please oh please, make the characters that love Amaya like family treat her like family. Be inclusive of her. She doesn’t have to accommodate to a hearing world. The world, her own family and friends must accommodate to her. As my Deaf grandma would say, “A Deaf person can do anything, but hear.” It’s just a bit obvious that the writers are hearing and haven’t spent enough time thinking for how a Deaf character lives in the world.
That is really true! I didn't catch that when I watched, but thinking about it, you're completely right! I think they did it so so well in S1-3, where it felt so natural for characters to just sign while they talked, or only signed and I felt like the show made such a good point of making it realistic in that, but not something that feels forced... it's a completely normal thing, and they managed to portray that, not diminishing her character or her interactions because of it. At least that's how I perceived it, but I also might not be the best one to say that
Hi, thank you for the review so early. I've not watched it yet, but I'm looking for a review that has no spoiler, well, good luck, I guess, but do you recommend watching it? Is it better than season 4 at least? I thought your spoiler free review of season 4 was really good.
Hey! I was thinking if I should make a spoiler free review, but didn't know if it interested people. I guess you are, so I'll get to it! Do I recommend it? ...If you like TDP, yes. It continues the story, and while what actually happens could be summarised very quickly, it's still worth watching. Apart from that, it was a let down to me sadly, and just felt very slow and random. I feel like you have to be so invested and read everything to do with TDP to be able to enjoy it at least somewhat more. I hope that helps, but I think I'll work on a quick spoiler free review.
@@TheGlowingHay I really appreciate your reply! If you want to make a spoiler free video, I’d definitely watch it. Based on what you and some of your other viewers have said, I wouldn’t be watching season 5. I used to be a big fan of TDP, but after season 4, no, I’m proceeding with caution now.
Yea that's totally fair. I'm hoping they blow our minds with the next season but yea... I really want to be able to recommend it to others as well, but the content itself isn't great. I love the world and overall characters though
I think this has been my least favourite season so far. S4 wasn’t great, but I may have let a lot of things slide because I missed the show so much after such a long hiatus. Unfortunately, for me S5 just wasn’t good. I think, as you pointed out, the pacing was just strange. The first 2 or 3 episodes felt like mostly filler and many events could have been easily summarised. It felt like they started telling the story too early and those first few episodes were not insightful, plot-wise or character-wise. My biggest problem with the whole season though was the tonal whiplash. There were far too many silly, childish jokes in between some pretty dark or action-packed moments. You’d have times when one character would make a dumb jokes and then the next moment we’ll be thrown into one of Viren’s terrifying visions. It just felt out of place. And the season concluded in such a strange, abrupt way. Like, can anyone please explain who the hell the mushroom man is?
I really am considering saying it was worse than Season 4 as well. The more time I have spent taking a closer look at it, it becomes so apparent how poorly it was written. Tonal whiplash is definitely a keyword, the next video will come out tomorrow, where I analyse one storyline of the Season! ...also, you cannot convince me the Mushroom Mage was not created when the Writers had a bit of...extra juice😉
I thought this was even worse than S4, and the decision to artificially extend the life of the series by having one season per element (or whatever) is backfiring because the writers haven't made the world complex enough to be able to generate that much material. So much of this felt like filler, exemplified for me by that short but utterly pointless scene of Calum and Rayla riding away from the hotel. It added nothing. On another level, the whole pirate subplot added nothing either (they could have given Calum a hundred other ways to learn ocean magic). Plus several of the characters have become caricatures of themselves. These are all signs that the writers don't know where to go beyond the basic "collect elements" structure. Or if they do, they're holding too much back for later.
I am reaching the same conclusion the more I look at the Season... I think the world could easily be complex enough, it just feels like they forgot how to tell a story because of how focused they are to introduce so many elements. It was always planned as 7 Seasons, so i think they had an endgame in mind, just now they have to get there, and not as much effort was put into the buildup seasons... I made a video on my thoughts to the Pirate Storyline as well! Maybe you share some of my points!
@@TheGlowingHay On reflection, yes, I think the world has the potential, but they're not using it. E.g. I don't understand why they have the Sun Elf plotline out on its own when they should have connected it up with something else, ideally something Aaravos is doing. They made him this arch-manipulator in S2/3 but here he's stuck just waiting for other people to act. If he's meant to be the big bad they could have given him some way to act behind the scenes. It's a real shame they use their best character so little.
I do agree on some things with you like I feel that it had quick pacing and that some episodes should of been one but one thing I remembered is that it took them such a long time to make season 4 and to hear that season 5 was coming early made me happy because I feel that they wanted to make sure we wouldn't have to wait so long again so that's the reason behind the quick pacing now on to the next thing besides the last episode we saw Aaravos haunting Queen Jenai's dreams over and over was a good story plot because in the last dream she had this season we found out that Aaravos swallowed her great grandmother just that made me one sick and two wonder how and why so with that being said we have a cliff hanger for season 6 on why and how it happened and how it will affect Queen Jenai now the next thing while yes Terry was a character no one was expecting he actually helped a lot this season my reasoning is without Terry Claudia would be exerting herself to much and she would be under so much more stress and mental pain so I think Terry is a good character that people can relate to and feel calm around so I believe we will see a lot more of him in season 6 because at the end of season 5 we see Claudia lost her leg and when we saw Terry's face he was in shock but I've seen enough tv to know that he will avenge Claudia in some way while I believe he is a passivist he may actually fight someone and I believe it will be Rayla because she chopped off Claudia's leg aka tentacle in the water so yeah now the next thing also sorry this is so long anyway the next thing I love how much Jenai's and Amaya's relationship has grown seriously I have been shipping them since I first saw them meet so I love their story from being enemies to lovers to soon to be wife's so yeah I ship them but anyway I really feel that their relationship this season has gotten so much stronger and for crying out loud Amaya actually talked for real not mouthing actual words well word she said go in the library fight seen which made my heart break and almost made me cry seeing Callum's Ezran's and everyone else's face when she said it just wow but I'm so happy she survived thank goodness for librarians wanting to keep their books safe now Jenai she was just so darn awesome in this season and also very sweet I'm not saying the dreams again but I will say what I love what happens after she wakes up she and amaya sleeping together made my heart burst because it's so cute and when Amaya comforts jenai after the dream just makes me cry happy tears and I laughed a bit when they were planning out their wedding it was so funny how Jenai just wanted Amaya to pick everything and then when Callum Rayla and Gren enter the tent 😂 Callum thought something bad was happening then Amaya looks at Gren his reaction made me laugh so much then when Rayla saw the flowers she immediately thought someone was getting married just how did she figure that out that quickly but yeah seeing Callum and Rayla's reaction when they told them was so sweet but now back to Jenai seeing her fight scene with the blood moon huntress was so awesome just dang we got to see her fight again which I missed seeing but then when Amaya came back from the library to see what happened made me almost have a head attack from sadness seriously when Amaya was told that Jenai was kidnapped her reaction was so intense they really wanted to pull on our hear strings there but after being told that Jenai was still alive but only if she gives her brother the sun seed she immediately went to the meet up spot ready to kill Jenai's brother for what he did seriously when you mess with a woman's soon to be wife you will feel the pain but I was so relieved when they were reunited made me happy cry so in total they made Jenai and Amaya's relationship grow so much so that is definitely a positive now because my comment is really long I won't explain what I think about when the crew was facing the bad pirate dude what ever his name is I'm just happy he died but yeah that's all I wanted to say thanks and have a great day or night byeeee
Thank you so much! That was a lot of effort you put into that, ans I respect that! I really agree with you, and I liked Amaya and Janai a lot more this Season! They actually felt like characters, and idk... they're cool!
Yeah I was worried I was going to delete it while I was making it so I copied it a lot just to be safe but I'm glad you liked it and sorry about me going on and on about Jenai x Amaya I just really like it it was my second favorite girl x girl ship of all time my first being luz x amity from the owl house but nevermind glad you liked it and I can't wait to watch your full analysis video about this season and I hope this helps you out with it anyway have a great day or night byeeee
Honestly I would give this season a four out of five. I could definitely see the potential in the story and I do like how they treated some characters. Yet there were still big problems with the series. 4 things I like: 1. Far less fart jokes 2. Callum learning and using more magic. 3. The story being more goal-driven. 4. Dark magic seeming to have more dire consequences. Spoiler alert Claudia losing a leg substantially raised the stakes for me. 5. Viren's story was the highlight of the story. Things I didnt like: 1. Terry is quite literally there because Claudia needs a sidekick. He honestly feels more like he's Pinky to Claudia's Brain. 2. Instead of focusing on the sun elves and Amaya and Jaina's relationship. Let's focus more on these dragons. Like Sol Regemm and Domius Pontus(forgive my spelling) should be way more concerned about what humans tried to do. I mean they tried to kill the dragon Prince. Shouldn't that make them a bit more angry? I mean shouldnt expect all of them to agree with Zubeia 3. Callum really didnt have to struggle to learn the Arcanum. I love the fact that he almost died learning the sky. Yet he just solved the riddle and learns the ocean. It was incredibly underwhelming. 4. Too many difficult problems had very simple Solutions. 5. How is it that Ezran can be away from the kingdom for so long? I mean it's like they forgot about all the other kingdoms that lost hundreds if not thousands of soldiers and their attack against Xadia. Maybe I'm not up-to-date on everything but shouldn't most of those kingdoms be ready to go to war with each other for losing such valuable military force or be trying to raise another army to attack Xadia? All in all I think it's a good show. However, I heard somewhere that the show only has seven seasons to tell its story. The main problem is you can really feel that it only has seven seasons to tell a massive story
I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I really like the feedback you bring up, and I agree! Especially with Terry ...and yea, many things feel too easy Great to hear your thoughts though!
There were more enjoyable parts than in season 4, stil so much stuff felt totally random... its like the writers blindfolded themselfs and then threw darts on a storyboard on what to do next. Dunno why they just cant fkn focus the story and not distract with completely irrelevant sidestories/characters. So many shows fall into this trap, thinking worldbuilding is something that has to happen all the time... but it just feels random and forced if the main-cast isnt involved. Also, it would have made things so much more impactful, if they didnt show the bad guys on the boat 69 times, they just had to show the dreamsequences and only later when they meet the "heros" we will see them too. Its called building up excitement, not knowing what the bad guys are up to... how close they are to their goal... like actually making the story interesing... and not tune back in on them in every episode like a bad soap, but it seems these writers arent capable of that. 😮💨
100% so much of it felt so pointless and forced. No threat felt real even though it should be at its highest since we are at the point of almost releasing Aaravos!
I quite liked season 5. Season 4 was mostly just setup. It was watchable and fine, but there was very little point, plot, or story structure. Season 5 had those things, even if it was not as good as the first three seasons. They certainly could have taken much more out of it, and I worry that they might end up wasting the amount of seasons they have.
I really enjoyed this season man I loved it but I would just say I hope they put a bit more story to Arravos cause man I need to know why he's doing this
I'm so glad you enjoyed the Season! Yes I want to know too! I feel like there is still so much that we don't know, and now that we know he "Swallowed" Aditi, I feel like that will open a whole new thing
Ok, that is fair, but at the same time I just don't want to act like just because it was "better" means that it was "good". It was more enjoyable to watch, and had its moments, but sadly fell flat a lot of the time :(
I'm really glad you liked it! I really hope that they actually make him start using magic as if it's an extension to his body, kinda like they started doing in S4, that would be so cool!
I think they will introduce a new element in the next season because there should be seven seasons and every season is named after an element but there are only 6 elements. And Aravos should break free in the next season
I actually think that next Season will be Stars, and Aaravos will be freed, ending the Season with him "winning" and then S7 will be named something completely different.. I think the next to Seasons will be the equivalent of Infinity War - Endgame, where after the first, the heroes seem to have lost, and now they have to recover somehow
100% Terry will either die, or be mortally wounded - knocking some sense in Claudi. He's just there and being goofy to set his vapid relation with Claudia somesort of weight. But its meh... There is about 15-20% of the scenes or.dialogue. which could be cut, and wouldnt change or impact the story whatsoever. I feel the post-production or even pre-screenwritting/planning is a little loosey goosey.
Absolutely! I hope they make Terry an actual character rather than just Claudia's ...sidekick yea. I wouldn't be surprised if they break up as well, and then she has to choose between her family or what could become her family, and then we see how deep she already is when she pushes him aside for her father, who probably doesn't even want that anymore
Hopefully the reason season 5 was rushed and slightly pointless, while developing almost none of the plots is because they are setting up for a big reveal bring in season six where all the different things come together based off of what happened in season 5
I really hope so too, but it isn't really an excuse to rush these Seasons.. like I want the content I get to watch now to also be good, not just a setup for later content
I love this show and I enjoy the season, but there was no magic, no spells they were really limited, they whole season was between Team Claudia / Team Ezran they keep delaying the plot with non-sense problems, like ezran stealing those little frogs, like why? It feels like a show for kids & also callum claimed to be a great magician but he can’t keep up in the fights, plus there too many problems that they face really dumb like when they were attacked in the library, Zym’s mother just stopped fighting for not reason, she could easily strike all the evil bears with the lightning doesn’t she realized her power and her size? So that it’s not making a lot of sense lately it seems like they just delaying the plot.
I completely agree! I really thought it was weird how after Season 4, where they started having Callum use magic casually, as someone would of they control what he does... Soon a video covering my problems with a part of the story is coming out!
I'd wait for the whole arc to be over and not rush to judgement. Clearly the mystery of Aaravos is a much slower burn than the previous arc and it's building up to something juicy. This season had more going on than the previous and I'm guessing the next one will have even more. Plus they come out close enough together to keep the arc consistent. It's also kind of funny you think they're moving away from the humans vs elves conflinct. Clearly you missed the part where the sun mage is planning on curing the blindness of a human hating dragon and has gathered his own army. What do you think he's going to use it for if not drive humans out of Xadia? That's clearly going to be the final conflinct of the show, probably after Aaravos.
I think it's fair to not judge the whole arc, but this was more focused on this Season specifically. I definitely think and hope that they manage to use these Seasons as build up for something great, but that doesn't leave these Seasons without flaw. I meant that within Season 5, the main conflict wasn't the Elves vs. Human conflict it was last Season. It definitely still comes down to that, but it wasn't the focus. Rather it was retrieving the sun seed to heal Sol Regem. It lets there be a clear goal and something to work towards, rather than a concept as the main source of conflict. I am really excited to see what will happen with Sol Regem next Season!
@@TheGlowingHay There are two more seasons left in this arc. What I wonder is if they're going to resolve the Sol Regem vs Humans story arc alongside the Aaravos one, or if they just build it up to resolve later. My guess is, to some extent, the sunfire elves civil war will end in this story arc.
I loved Rayla and Callum connected with each other again, I loved their relationship and I though this season was great but I will agree on terry of how bad this character is, I’ve been rewatching these episodes to get more understanding on what we will expect from season 6 and I’m excited to see it. Over all this season reminded me a little bit of season 3 of how they did the characters and how we were going into new lands, better stuff in general.
Everything feels like a waste of time. It feels like a large portion of the things our characters do could be shortened down if they weren’t acting goofy almost the whole show. I feel no sense of danger anymore.
Exactly!! I never felt dread or a threat. It all just kinda happened and then stopped happening. My next video actually will go more in depth on why that is for the Pirate Storyline.
@@TheGlowingHay RIGHT I’m gonna be so honest I knew exactly where the pirate story line was going so I skipped the episodes with it because I Jsit can’t be bothered anymore. Why are we constantly doing side quests when the most evil being in their world is currently on his way to being released
Idea, I can describe this season in one sentence: It was targeted to the people who know nothing about the show or plot in general. This season was SO interesting with all of the crazy stuff going on, but if you know the show and know plot you realize all of it is just pointless
This is actually really interesting! I never thought about it that way, but I think there is something to that. I think in general the writing just doesn't really work this season...
I'm not usually a vocal audience member, but I was screaming in shock, alarm, fear, relief from the scene at the Bookery until the end of the season. I thought Amaya was going to get scratched by the banthers. Not die for from it, but get cursed. I like Finnigrin. I hope he secretly survived. Tidepool Tina feigning her own unaliving was a shocker. Viren's deep psychological trauma was awesome and cathartic but I expected his wife to appear in one flashback. Having his mentor's fate explicitly stated is interesting. The General flipping back to Karin's side made no sense to me. I think her little speech could have been, I'm sorry I betrayed you, now that I know your grand plans for Lux Area I have brought you an army.
I watched episodes 1through 5 and thought things were forced and convoluted, especially at the library. Zubeia was kicking ass and then just kind of stopped fighting. I don't think it earned Aamaya speaking. Also, bathers can bite through arch dragon scales?? Zubeia better be careful about only landing on solid or flat ground, or her weight would cause literally any obstruction to pierce right through her. I went back a week later and thought episode 6 was fine and that 7 through 9 were fantastic. I actually really liked Finnegrin, but didn't love Deadwood. He hadn't shown any character to make me want to sympathise with him. I definitely agree that Viren's dream was the best part, though.
Way better than s4, stuff actually happened and a lot of OG characters came back. Not a masterpiece by any means, but more interesting and enjoyable that the previous season.
Definitely better than the previous one, but then again, that wasn't too difficult. I think the previous Season set the bar so low, we forgot what really good writing was like 😄
@@TheGlowingHay Absolutely. One of my favorite aspects of this season was the (usually) darker and more mature tone. It also had good emotional character moments that weren’t undercut by dumb jokes, and there was way more violence and tension.
nice vid. this season it´s better than s4 and i trully enjoy it, but it show´s the problem of only having 9 episodes, there are a lot of plot points and character arcs that don´t get the time they need to be explored, we meet 2 ocean elves between the pirate and the archmage but then again, to this day we only knew 2 sky elves i think, being Ibis and Nix, the one thing i get with the final of the season it´s that, in S6 the "dung" will hit the fan, and it will hit it HARD, Viren noticing Claudia´s current state will trigger something, there´s the traitor sun elf, Aravos will return, i expect a "sad" ending for next season. i´ll love to hear your thoughts on the impact this season for the next one
I think this season didn't run with the normal 3 episodes per storyline, which really hurt how long we get to stay in each plot. I guess more episodes would solve that, but I feel like the episodes themselves need to be more focused. I will definitely go into my thoughts on what we might be getting the next two seasons as well!
I didn't like this season the story is told too fast problems come and go Dialogues between the characters are pathetic, they lack time and emotion on the other hand, there's a lot of blood and death that was previously censored like netflix doesn't know what it wants and has done everything more but in my eyes it doesn't work post scriptum Polish dubbing is also done carelessly In conclusion, either my expectations exceeded what the fifth season presented, or it was done sloppy
Yup, I agree with all of it. I actually should try watching it dubbed, because the fact that even dubbing was done lazily doesn't surprise me, but isn't something I previously thought about. My next video will also go into more of the details of missed writing
I actually love this season and genuinely enjoyed watching it. While I do agree with your criticisms, they're only minor flaws to me and don't take away from the good bits and my enjoyment of the show. And flaws like maybe there's too many plot lines and too little time, to me doesn't feel like its the creators fault. I feel like they're trying their best to work with what they were given to include everything they want and to tell the story they want to share. I think the dragon prince struggles from a very extensive world and too many ideas and not enough time and episodes unfortunately. But I'm honestly happy with what we got, but still disappointed about certain things that I feel could have played out differently and things that weren't included/touched on enough - such as the lack of Aaravos and not enough on Zubiea getting scratched. In my opinion it hit the right emotions when it needed to. Personally, I really liked the scenes in the great bookery, and the fight there was well animated and had me interested in watching it. It's a whole lot better than season 4, I actually cared about all the plot lines this time, especially the sunfire elf one. It was better executed this season. Overall, I really enjoyed this season and can't I wait for the rest of them!
I'm really happy to hear when people liked the Season because...well that's the point of it. I just didn't really like it, and if those things didn't affect it too much for you, then that's really nice! I definitely think that it has become a problem with how expansive this world is, but I love it.. I wish we could explore parts more thoroughly, rather than skimming over many of them
I'm really glad that is the case! Just because it wasn't for me, doesn't mean others can't enjoy it, and I'm really glad it brought back your interest! I'm still really excited to see what they do in the next Seasons!
I have to say the whole pirate arc is very out of place and unnecessary plus doesn't make any senses. Why would Ezran, which is a smart kid, put his friends and family in great danger just to save some toads is beyond me. Plus, why none of them rose suspicious when Zubeia didn't show up? Considering Zubeia being infected is a big deal, why Soren didn't tell the group about her state? In my opinion, Domina Profundis should have played a bigger and more important role in this season rather than being used as a plot device. Considering the title of this season is "Book Five: OCEAN", which supposed to be a main theater for a sea dragon like Domina Profundis but they chose to use the cheap ass pirate storyline for it. What a waste for such a beautiful and interesting character😔 The conversation between Zubeia and her dead husband is very touching and help us to know more about the Dragon Queen personalities as well as her will to fight for her Kingdom and her son. Zubeia should have gotten more screen time. She deserved it ☺ Honestly, Viren's back must have hurt a lot carrying this series from start to finish. Literally, without him, there would be no plot for the whole series 🤣🤣
I was annoyed that Domina Profundus only got a cameo in the episode that was literally named after her. She didn't even show up in the finale for crying out loud! Compare that to Rex Igneous, whom we were able to get to know by spending 2 episodes with him. This season was a step down from Season 4, which is a criminally underrated season. People were bitching about pacing, humour and Rayllum in Season 4 but the pacing is at least as bad in Season 5, humour is very subjective, and most of the problems with Rayllum come from the lack of connecting scenes in the time jump between Seasons 3 and 4 rather than the quality of the writing in Season 4 itself. Furthermore, these same people are willing to overlook that Azymondias, the goddamn Dragon Prince himself, had absolutely no impact on the story apart from stopping the group from being digested, something that could have also been solved by Callum's "zap hands". Remember when Zym was willing to go 10 rounds with Rex Igneous for insulting his dad and his presence caused Zubeia to fly in at the last moment and save the day when she came looking for him? Zym actually contributed to Season 4 but he might as well have been absent from Season 5 altogether. Granted, here was a lot to like about this season. Claudia and Terry were adorable when Claudia wasn't going Dark Mage on everybody's asses. Callum and Rayla had great moments too, even though I find Callum to be pretty damn annoying when he doesn't have Rayla around to offset his awkwardness. Villads was a pleasant treat after being absent since Season 2 and unlike Nyx, who was only brought back for fan service, he actually contributed to the story. And Aaravos is so charismatic that he can steal every single scene he's in without even trying. However, Season 5's overall quality is still worse than Season 4. Viren and Zubeia did the most heavy lifting in this season. Seeing Viren finally examine his motivations and decisions whilst being honest with himself until he finally reached the point of telling Aaravos to piss off was the most engaging part of the story. And since Zubeia seemed invincible in Season 4, seeing her vulnerable to the point of talking to her dead husband, albeit whilst retaining enough self-awareness to know that she was hallucinating, was disturbing to watch. It's like when Avizandum went from an unstoppable force of nature to a desperate father clawing his way back towards his home in a frantic attempt to protect his unborn son whilst turning to stone. At least Zubeia actually survived her ordeal.
@@tomnorton4277 Yeah, I completely agree. It's still bugs me that Zym barely contribute anything to the storyline in this season, he was cast aside and being forgotten in a series that literally named after him - THE DRAGON PRINCE. The same thing can be said to Domina Profundis. They did both of them dirty. And the thing that got me frustrated the most is both Callum and Ezren cared about some fucking glowing toads more than their own friends and family. Their aunt and Corvus almost died at the library to save that stupid toad Bait and now Zubeia - The Dragon Queen of Xadia, the only link that connect the human world and Xadia as well as their strongest ally is suffering and dying just because they chose to save that stupid toad that literally named Bait. Are the lives of the Dragon Queen and your aunt not worth as much as your stupid pet? Viren and Zubeia literally carried this whole season. Viren turned out to be more sensible and likable character in this season while Zubeia being the most useful and the most empathetic character in this whole season is something that I never expected 😅
@@NguyenTran-mf9gj To be fair, Ezran can communicate with non-sentient animals as easily as he can communicate with humans, elves or dragons. He and Zym can literally see through each others eyes due to having such a strong psychic link. It makes sense for him to be as empathetic towards Glow Toads as he would be towards a sentient creature, especially in Bait's case because they've been together since Ezran was a baby. It wouldn't have worked if any other character had made the decision to save the baby Glow Toads but in Ezran's mind, he was saving 3 people, not 3 animals.
@@tomnorton4277 But it doesn't worth it. They have so much to lose and so little to gain saving Bait at the library. Amaya, Corvus and Zubeia are their main shields that protect them and Zubeia is also act the main transportation for the group. Losing them is much much worse than losing Bait, especially Zubeia. Also, for the worst case, they could all be dead while trying to save Bait. A good king is the one who must willing to sacrafice some small things for the greater good. That's why Ezran is not really a suitable king yet because he let his small selfish reason endangered everyone around him and can effect the fate of the whole Kingdoms.
That was a bit strange to me, I did like the way she "communicated" with the dead Dragon King, I think that was well done, I feel like they managed to pull off the multiple storylines better than they did in season 4, I like Claudia's arc, I think her and the wood blood elf are a nice couple, but I don't care much for them, I am happy that they didn't make a single joke about his farts in this season though, VERY happy actually, some things were predictable, but I didn't mind it that much, overall I really liked this season, I was watching it all in one session, and I enjoyed it
No further jokes is indeed a massive step up, but yea I just don't like Terry as a character... the Dragon Queen was so laughably bad though, I feel like they forgot about her too😄
Wait, she got healed by that Mushroom guy. Judging by the song he was singing I thought it was the opposite. You know mushrooms grow on dead things.
@@sevith5277did she got heald? Did she died? Did she got posined? Some mushrooms are poisonous
@@sevith5277 I thought he healed her. Some fungi make antibiotics which was what I directly thought about seeing that scene.
The urgency was also lost with how slow everyone was
My Only Disappointment Was We Didn't Get A Face Off Between Rayla And Kim'dael.
@@hannahburke7328yes, hoping next season
But I liked what they did with the blood moon elf
@@robosoldier11 I genuinly think the fundamental issue is that the episode count doesn't account for the world they are going for
Yeah like the whole problem of stealing little buddies and making it dramatic
I thought it was something important considering where the story is right now, like looking for Aaravo's prisionand all, but it was just...
@@ryankwon8785 that's a really good theory!
I really like that thought! I also instantly thought that Elarion seems weirdly close to Laurelion
I like that idea!
Isn't the credit art a reference to the birth of Venus by Botticelli?
The baby creation makes more sense then you think
The bug involved virens blood and aaravos's bug
I should have watched the credits, xD
I was just so excited and skipped to the next episode instantly
Gonna watch them
In season 5, it really felt like the Callum, Ezran, Rayla etc group were no longer the protagonists.
My friend, I salute you. You came up with better ideas in probably ten minutes than the writers did in two+ years.
This is so well written! Tha k you so much for this! I agree that it's always better to give ideas on what to have done instead, rather than just saying "it wasn't good", but for me ...I was going to make videos on it xd
I think you really precisely pointed put many writing holes and that is something I am getting into with the next videos as well!
My Theory on The Dragon Prince Season 6: Stars
Team Zym will take Aaravos' Prison Pearl to Sunfire Queen Janai for protection.
This would actually be really cool!
Might be a bit far-fetched but I like it. Gotta remember we only have 9 episodes 😂
The barely moved the plot forward....*slaps head* idiot.
Mystery of aaravos is not the name of s4, But the new name of the series. Even s5 has the introduce saying "Mystery of aaravos"
@@TheGlowingHay Though the baby Soren and baby Claudia moments were cute.
I really liked the character's expressions this Season especially! But yea, there were better parts and there were worse parts
I think that callum gets possessed next season by aaravos and free him(aaravos)
I think they will break up too. I really want to like him, but his decisions are so frustrating and the way claudia treats him makes him feel not like a real character
@@TheGlowingHay I love him, lol😭
Yeah
You are right about the ending. I was so sure that they would finally free Aaravos. That way they would have had one season to show what he is really capable of, and then the last one to make the final battle
Hay Everyone!
Welcome back, or welcome for the first time! Thank you so much for watching, I hope you enjoyed, any feedback to the video itself is more than welcome since I want to improve!
How did you like the Season though? Were you let down like me, or did you have a blast?
Enjoy!
did you catch the star terk DS9 reference with the self sealing stem bolts? lol
No I actually did not! I never watched Star Trek tbh (yes, I know...)
But that's a cool find!
i just really wish we got to see more of Aaravos. like he’s the main villain and he was barely in this season. second season of “mystery of Aaravos” yet we literally have gotten no new information about him.
There is no real fear of the new antagonist since they are quickly resolved, karim did nothing accomplished nothing and got his goal handed to him at the very end
Another thing on the antagonists is Finnegrin, I actually rocked with Finnegrin he was looking like a threat out here cut throat character ocean magic giving us some of the best scenes of the season. Then this man got ruined by bad writing for them to defeat him by telling the crew exactly what it doesnt work with his abilities then soren "talk no jutsu" this mans lacky and he got tossed and eaten 5 seconds later. W O W what a waste
Absolutely! The threats are so underdeveloped, that we just don't care... a new video is about to release where I go into that more
I think the seasons could be longer/have less plot lines.
Hey! Welcome back! Glad to see we're back!
Glad to be back!
@@TheGlowingHay cringe
My biggest fan is back i see
This whole season (plus season 4) felt like one giant filler and side quests xd everybody's just existing, I was bored like hell.
Soren still feels kinda useless to me, like i feel he could be so much more and he's just there, providing emotional support that I personally find a bit annoying.
a bit of a different issue as well, I have no sense of geography in this world, like we see Karim walking on dessert and suddenly he's like in some forest
and yead, it is just infuriating that Aaravos almost doesn't get screentime.
Killing aravos could fail because the poem could be a half truth or a lie or aravos could be prepare for the way of killing him and escape them if they let him out to kill him
Oooh I would love manipulation going that deep
I think the problem is that this was an arc that felt unnecessary because we already did it. Her actions make sense for a character that hasn't already gone through that arc, but now it just feels recycled and used to force conflict which then feels pointless.
This is exactly how I feel, it feels like we waste sm time doing nothing. All this could’ve been condensed to a season if they tried harder and got rid of the 90 c plots they have going on
hey man. u rlly deserve more attention. i shared with everyone ik that might be intrested in the series and the channel
keep up the good work!
Thank you so much! I can't wait to share my next projects with all of you😊
I felt the same (????) after watching.
I found Viren's story really compelling too though!
@@TheGlowingHay I feel that for sure. :
You're everywhere EG! also ya the plot gimics were a bit weird this season. Hopefuly they'll turn the tides in season 6
Btw glowing hay thx for responding to every comment
, keep up the good work
I gotcha! Thank you so much for the kind words! I just would love to build a community, and ...idk, I'm still just a person, and I don't want it to feel like I'm some voice talking my points down to viewers 😄
5:20 dude, you lost me there
"You enter scumport. The first thing you see is a guy in a little ragged shopping booth selling things made with parts of a very rare sea beast. IT'S TOTALLY NOT A SCAM DUDE I SWEAR"
The very next merchant they show us is selling essencial oils.
😂I completely forgot he exists... which yea, isn't great for a show that was built on the fact that he is the key to so many things
AFTER you make sure that this season has a damn story... which it doesn't
in a few years time, watching all this back, it'll likely feel like 2 big season that's horrible paced because logically, this should be where the heroes hit their lowest point but due to it being cut up into seperate seasons, they have to win at the end of the season.
@@TheGlowingHay the way i see it they could still use her and expand on her, its not like she died.
Do you know the Mushroom Mage?
SIGN WHEN YOU SPEAK TO HER SO SHE CAN UNDERSTAND YOU!”
TDLR: please oh please, make the characters that love Amaya like family treat her like family.
I think they’re just rushing to finish it , the passion seems like it died after the pandemic halted everything
Pandemic changed lots of things
Yup I agree! I think they had a cool finale idea, but then realised they had to create multiple Seasons to actually get to that point
Can you explain how magic works in dragon prince
I could definitely make a video going into how it works!
4 things I like:
1. Far less fart jokes
2. Callum learning and using more magic.
3. The story being more goal-driven.
4. Dark magic seeming to have more dire consequences. Spoiler alert Claudia losing a leg substantially raised the stakes for me.
5. Viren's story was the highlight of the story.
Things I didnt like:
I mean shouldnt expect all of them to agree with Zubeia
Especially with Terry
...and yea, many things feel too easy
Great to hear your thoughts though!
Yea I'm worried too. It's definitely going uphill, and I'm super excited for Stars, but I hope they don't run into the same problems
Season 5 was better than season 4
SEASON 4 SUCKS
Ok, that is fair, but at the same time I just don't want to act like just because it was "better" means that it was "good".
It was more enjoyable to watch, and had its moments, but sadly fell flat a lot of the time :(
My boy Callum is on his way to become the master of all 6 primal magic......2 out of 6 arcanum connected.
All jokes aside, I really like this season.
If Aravos won't get out then we won't see how much of a threat he is
Very cool video and I agree
Thank you!
True, I guess now all we can do is hope the writers take feedback 😂
@@TheGlowingHaythx for always reply to our comments ❤ definitely subscribed
Now Is Season 6 and to Season 7 yay
Yup, I hope those Seasons are going to be something crazy then
Not gonna lie but. At the start i always knew it was realsing early. I just don't know how
Not gonna lie. I don't quite understand what you mean, but you're cooking
Bruhhhhh did you ask ChatGPT to concoct some reply??
Wait I saw the same post on Reddit are you the user?
Nah he's my friend, doesn't watch the show, so he just went to reddit and took the first post about the Season that he saw
I really enjoyed this season it very good but there’s a lot things missing but they might put those in the next to seasons
I'm really happy you enjoyed it, and yea, I hope the next Seasons really hit hard!
It was my favourite season lol
Honestly, I'm really happy for you😄 It wasn't for me, but that doesn't mean that you can't really like it!
@@TheGlowingHay ❤️
I didn't like this season
the story is told too fast
problems come and go
Dialogues between the characters are pathetic, they lack time and emotion
on the other hand, there's a lot of blood and death that was previously censored
like netflix doesn't know what it wants and has done everything more but in my eyes it doesn't work
post scriptum Polish dubbing is also done carelessly
In conclusion, either my expectations exceeded what the fifth season presented, or it was done sloppy
I wish we could explore parts more thoroughly, rather than skimming over many of them
@@TheGlowingHay yah I wish we could explore parts more thoroughly too
Season 4 made me lose all interest in the show. Season 5 brought it back.
What a waste for such a beautiful and interesting character😔
The conversation between Zubeia and her dead husband is very touching and help us to know more about the Dragon Queen personalities as well as her will to fight for her Kingdom and her son. Zubeia should have gotten more screen time. She deserved it ☺
Honestly, Viren's back must have hurt a lot carrying this series from start to finish. Literally, without him, there would be no plot for the whole series 🤣🤣
I liked the conversation she had as well, but yeaaa the pirate Storyline does have its issues.. I released another video where I talk about that!
