Hay Everyone! I can't wait to hear what you think about this one, since maybe not everyone felt the same way about the Episode. Yes, I really like Soren as a character, so I really hoped we'd get more out of his character, but that comes later in the Season. Also, the end of the Video might give you a good idea for what we're covering next Video, since it's THEORY TIME!
I would say this episode is still important from a character perspective. Seeing Soren being so happy and goofy does make his moments later in this season have a lot more of an impact. The moments with him and Viren hit a lot harder when you have that contrast with how he acts in this episode, and how serious and quiet he is when he’s talking to his dad. It’s part of why Soren is my favorite character, since he is able to balance goofy comedy with such powerful drama. It also shows how good of a voice actor Jesse Inocalla really is, since he has both great comedic delivery in one episode and can give a really emotional and gut punching performance in another.
For one, yes it's nice to have both sides, but that "goofy" side is all we've seen the past seasons, so it's really not that important to build it up, since it already has been. And since the change is so sudden and dramatic it might actually harm that development and make it seem ...harsh? I absolutely agree that this ability to have both sides is what makes Soren an amazing character though. And the VA does an incredible job! I wish I could attend the conventions to tell them in person some day!
Actually in the online interviews that I found, the reasons why Zubiea needed the Mushroom Mage’s help is because the creators decided to have her grow by seeking help as she helped others.
That ...seems like copium. Idk, her arc is so non existent, since she has as a "character" contributed pretty much nothing to the show for some reason. I understand they need it to seem like there is a deeper reason for what her character is doing, but it doesn't quite change the fact she's been very absent
I’d say this episode was quite boring, but it was funny, im glad Zubeia is still alive. It also did set some stuff up later for the season, i mean in the ways of “Soren”. He was so light hearted and funny this episode, I could’ve never imagine how quiet and rugged he was with Viren. Also, I barely understood how the rune cube works, so please do a good job in explaining that in your future vid, I look forward to it!!!! :D
Yea I agree with your view on the episode. It's just ...kinda there. I do think it's weird they go so hard on the idea that Soren is just a goofy guy, just to 180 and make him super serious ...was an attempt at showing how he has multiple sides, but comes across ...jarring. Also, I hope the video does well enough at explaining the Cube thing. I tried to include the more "basic" lore of the cube, since I'm aware not everyone spends as much time with TDP as I do😄
I think that if we had least scenes with Janai and Amaya, and Soren and Corvus would have find the mushrooms mage earlier, we could have got some interesting backstory and ideas about another earth elves in general and about the mushrooms magic, and it will set up for next season when the heroes hide from Aaravos and Claudia in this mushrooms forest. but it was the funniest episode in the season and soren and Corvus were great! even Zym got a nice moment with Ezran and Zubeia. About the pacing, I think it was a bit slow on purpose so it could ne a build up for next, if karim and Janai storyline would had a focus on ep 4 already so the build would have felt better, because we see them in ep 2, and than nothing until ep 7.
Absolutely! I completely agree with this, and there's just so much more that could be done. Also, the fact the pacing is weird in this episode already, and then the sunfire story just doesn't progress at all for 4 episodes is just weird. It really was a funny episode though, and that's worth a lot!
Tbh the moment I saw the title "Love, War and Mushrooms" I somehow knew it was gonna be at least partially fillery xD Anyway I feel like this show sometimes has a sudden moment of realization that it's supposed to be 7+ so it makes gazillion of jokes to make up for it being kinda dark xD I think that the mushroom plot of this episode was exactly that moment. I remember when I first watched the episode and the mushroom quest was on screen, I genuinely felt like I was watching a different show all of sudden. It wasn't horrible, and I still enjoyed it, but it felt weird. It's kinda hard to explain but the other half of the episode felt like watching TDP while the mushroom part felt like watching My Little Pony xDD
Yeaa that's too true. It's kinda not great that it feels so jarring. But yea actually the idea that they want to have darker episodes, and so they feel the need to compensate with the silly episodes. Never thought about that.. very much agree tho
Yea I'm so surprised I thought it was good on my first watch, buuut probably the hype played a huge role. Now without it, looking back it's just not really good. Buuut Soren!
Yes! One looks like Harrow and one kinda like Sarai. Before we get ahead of ourselves though, I really don't think that's due to anything more than reusing models. Buuuuut a theory I quickly mentioned on Stream is that one of the Kings of Katolis (ancestor of Harrow) wished to be remembered forever ...so what if he became a startouch elf because of that? I know, it's a reach
@@TheGlowingHay could you please post a few hours before when does it start? I would love to participate but it would make it really easy for me to know exactly when it will start.

It just makes him seem bipolar.

It was A fun episode fun of Sorvus, Janaya, Zym, Zubeia And Mushrooms. I Ate Mushroom Pizza While Watching Episode 2.
Mushroom pizza is the best, so it would be a huge bias for me too.. Mushroom pizza with Mushroom episode tho?!?! Overload of goodness

well atleast we got sorvus >:D
ngl the mushroom thingy should’ve been a short story
Truee, out if all the weirdly plot relevant short stories we got, this was strange to take up a full episode ...for essentially nothing
@@TheGlowingHay like they made strangers a short story but not this?? helpp 😭
I miss Sorbeia.

Pardon me. I'm the founder of the Cult of Nish. DID YOU SAY "TOO MANY PUNS"!!!!!
I mean.... like there's a fine balance to strike ..righttt?
@TheGlowingHay you can never have enough puns
So dark magic is star magic right, so what is deep magic? Did you notice how Harrow looks like on of the star touch elves?
Yes! One looks like Harrow and one kinda like Sarai. Before we get ahead of ourselves though, I really don't think that's due to anything more than reusing models.

When you gonna be on live?
Probably either tomorrow (Saturday evening CEST) or Sunday evening
@@TheGlowingHay hope i will be there!🙏
I now decided that I'll be streaming tomorrow (Sunday) ...so like in 26hrs
@@TheGlowingHay could you please post a few hours before when does it start? I would love to participate but it would make it really easy for me to know exactly when it will start.
@dekelharel3792 absolutely! I'll probably post in a bit, when the stream will be exactly!
This was the worst episode of the season. I felt like i was watching season 4 again.
Actually true. I was watching some of S4 again afterwards, and you're so right, the vibe is so similar and not in a good way
