I may not share your same views but I LOVE the fact that this is YOUR list and not the " what's cool list " you did not pre tend to like what u did not. I admire this.
Thats by far the weirdest Top2018 list of all I have seen. God of War didnt catch you, but Fallout76 did. And then two games in your #1 spot I have never heard of. The tastes are different, and thats okay.
honestly God of War isn't going to be a great game for everyone i wasn't surprised when she said so because i've tried to play games like GoW like darksiders and the like when they went free on Xbox One and while i found myself Really likeing the narative i just couldn't love the gameplay
I love the variety though. I find it more enjoyable to watch when someone's genuine experience isnt just a rehash of all of the "mainstream socially acceptable" games.

I like that your tastes are so different than mine. I like hearing why you like and dislike things. You got me to play some things I wouldn’t have in 2018 like Hyperdeminsion Neputunia that I really enjoyed. Keep it up!

Monster Hunter was mine, such a excellent game that just keeps giving with free updates and just added Geralt as a playable character!
I have respect for a list that says screw all of the haters, I had fun with these games and I love them. That makes me happy to see. It's so depressing to have my TH-cam recommendations flooded with people all hating and loving the same games. Even if I personally wasn't interested in Fallout or Sea of Thieves (don't like multiplayers much) it's nice to see original taste. I relate a lot to disliking popular games and liking games people complain about.
Love checking out your reviews. I've been hooked on fire emblem warriors since you talked about it. Love playing it before bed. Button mashing is part of it and the other part is tatic. So much fun. 👍
Kudos on putting together a game of the year list. I feel like not many youtubers attempt it.

Interesting list
You'd have to be a massive Zelda fan to enjoy Hyrule Warriors, but if you are I'd say it is a definite buy. It's repetitive as hell yes, and I can't speak for how the missions are in Fire Emblem, but for a game that has this many highly beloved characters playable and in which you can easily sink hundreds of hours I think it is damn good value for the money.
Octopath Traveller wins.
Haha. Monster Hunter was one of my favorites of the year. Right up there with God of War, Yakuza 6 and Xenoblade 2. But I can understand people not liking the heavy combat or the battle-grind.
Cool list my favorite game for 2018 has to be Octopath Traveler for Switch however Labyrinth of Refrain Coven of Dusk is a close second. I love how different the games are on your list.

I have bought so many games over the last couple of years that I can't even remember what games that I have that came out in 2018 specifically, so I also don't even remember what NEW games I played last year and can thus not crown a favorite xD
..................oh wait, there was one.....TWO in fact now that I think about it, but that's only because they came out so late that they are still relatively fresh in my memory. The Missing and Gris has a shared #1 spot for me.
I need more open world quality from Japan like Xenoblade Chronicles X.

I agree on God of war, I couldn't get into it. I listened to the audio book while at work, so I know how the story goes. My game of the year last year was Astro Bot for PSVR, loved it. Currently just started dragon quest 11, which I'm liking so far.

My favorite games of 2018. Red Dead Redemption 2, God of War, Spider-Man, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, The Messenger, and Gris.

I like that Ircha kept it real about Fallout 76 and Sea Of Thieves, those games are super fun!
Both of those games are on my favorite games of 2018
how are you comparing Fallout 76 to Sea of Thieves? They are literally giving away Fallout 76 Bundled with Xbox Ones cheaper than the Xbox One without it. 76 is a mess, the bugs, duping items, weapons damaged multipliers into the millions; Sea of thieves is not nearly in the same league. Appreciate your opinion but damn, I can't believe it.

I'm just saying that I had/have a lot of fun with F76.
I didn't pick it up day one i got it for like $10 three weeks after launch.
And by then they had already patched some of the bugs and glitches.
And by now I rarely see any bugs and glitches that are gamebreaking.
I haven't had a crash in forever, so I'm almost sure they've fixed that, at least on Xbox i can't say if it's fixed on PC or PS4, maybe it's not even fixed on Xbox, I just don't rub in to those problems.
And Sea of Thieves is one my favorite games because of the social aspect I met tons a
players on the sea and I literally think I'm the only one who wasn't bored with the game at all.
Speaking of Fallout 76, have they cleaned up those bugs yet? I still haven't played it yet.

Lost Sphear
Rainbow Web (On my gaming laptop)
some puzzle games on my iPad mini 3 (I have such a huge love for puzzle games.)
Stardew Valley
Mario Odyssey
Sims 4 (On my gaming laptop. I am a huge Sims fan.)
and Zelda BOTW
I know some of these games didn't come out last year. But they were still games that I still love to play. Like Zelda BOTW. I am still really hook on that game as I was when the game first came out almost 2 years ago. There is literally countless of things you can do in that game. And the monsters in that game are just so much fun to play around with. I just love how they made those monsters to act really stupid. The ones in Skyward Sword were much more smarter than in BOTW. That reason alone is why I am always playing that game.

Wow! Everyone is entitled to their opinion. My 2018 Game of the Year was God of War with Assassin Creed Odyssey a close second. Great video my friend.
As she played and enjoyed Ni No Kuni 1 and 2, I was thinking she’d like Dragon Quest XI. As others have said, it’s definitely HER top games and of course that is subjective. She obviously ranks experience with friends higher than technical quality and that’s ok. It’s what is FUN that counts. As an older gamer I usually look for tighter more polished games, which is also ok.

@@ircha Yes! Most definitely. God of War's combat was good but I felt like the world was a bit empty.... something was not grabbing me.
i'm not nessicarly on board with Let's GO Pika/Evee being a REMAKE but maybe that's just because i hadn't played a pokemon game since emerald and so the graphics and streamlining were great improvments for me to see as well as playing with my pokemon, BUT i toatally disagree with spyro not counting as it's a complete overhall on the graphics and animations while it's the same game from 20 years or so ago it's far improved in most areas and honestly is my pick for a GoTY. my tops is 76, Spyro RT, and for DLC Mooncrash (Prey)
Two Point Hostpital is really awesome. It's almost too funny, no other game made me laugh so often. We also agree on Monster Hunter World, that game bored me to death. My GotY has to be Dragon Quest XI. I mean, that was one of the best tradition JRPG's I've played in years. Just thinking of it makes me wanna go back and start all over again. And it's soooo long (unlike Kingdom Hearts 3).
Bendy and the Ink Machine for my top pick. For its creativity and I recomend it to every to play once.
I mean, this is your list, so your rules... but why don't remakes qualify? Ports I can understand because that exact game has been released before, but remakes are essentially entirely new games. Okay a game like Shadow of the Colossus is debatable because the remake is SO CLOSE to the original, but take a game like Resident Evil 2 that released just two weeks ago. It has a lot in common with its original counterpart, but it is also new, different, and fresh in its own way, it is essentially a completely new game and definitely MY game of the year for 2019 so far.

Top three that I played this year : Don't care if they didn't come out in 2018--
1. Horizon Zero Dawn: COMPLETE EDITION (Loves it MHM, could go on and on about it)
2. Ni No Kuni 2 tied with Ys8
3. RDII or God of WAR. Can't decide, won't decide
Favorite Switch Game : Dead Cells.
Favorite Side Scroller download for Switch : Guns Gore and Cannoli 2
Top three disappointments :
1. Shadow War. ( played the crap out of it. ... don't get me stared on that one
2. Hyrule Warriors definitive edition. Fire Emblem Warriors was better.
3. Overcooked. ( What was I thinking when I bought this one.
Biggest disappointment in gaming this year... No Bean Boozled with Tinny Cats and Neighbor Steffen.

I could never get into it on the wii u, it's just not a game that pushes you to play. There's hardly any story, the only thing to push you to keep playing is better gear? I guess with friends it would be cool, but the game just screams boring to me.
For me GOTY 2018 has to be Celeste. A very tight and hard platformer that teaches you how to crack any challenging game.
@@ircha it is very hard, frustrating and makes you suffer initially. But quick respawns will motivate you to keep trying. So after going through 20 to 30 deaths to cross a level, you will get that sudden rush of achievement. And it just prepares you for any level of difficulty in other video games. And the story is sweet with good dialogues. Had so many memorable moments in that game.
Fallout 76 on a game of the year list earns this video an automatic dislike.
