@@vkray Do u stay in kolkata or have u visited kolkata.Maybe you had a bad experience . I have travelled across India and I have not found more friendlier people who are always ready to welcome you. People of WB are truly gentle and loving people. I am from Kolkata and love my city more than any other place. I have been abroad as well but nothing compared to the warmth and brotherhood you experience here.

Tanvir A Man I’m from West Bengal. I’m Bengali. Job situations are not good for software developers. I’ve worked in Kolkata, Delhi, Gurgaon, Bangalore and Dubai. All companies are leaving due to past and present govt policy. My friends are closing their business and shifted to Hyderabad, Rajasthan, Gujarat. You are not staying at Kolkata I think. U don’t understand our pain. Kolkata is a dead city for business and industrial. Too much local politics destroyed Bengali people. Good people are leaving Bengal. Only I like now Siliguri.

It is not soap. Those are fennel seeds coated in sugar. That was trying to say "SAUNF" , which is the hindi translation for fennel. It is used as a mouth refreshner. Used to avoid any foul odor from your mouth after you are done eating. Cheers. Keep up the great work

The best thing about you Mark, is that your expressions after eating the food. I have seen a lot of videos of yours, and every single time I have also seen those expressions, that you are not only enjoying the food but also you give a lot of respect to that food & those people who are connected to that food item. I really appreciate your behavior towards people. You are such a great human being. No matter what kind of food ymare you eating, is it outstanding or just plain normal food, you always show your satisfaction.. I admire you for being so nice to everyone you met & ever food you eat.. Thank you very very much. Wish you all the success..

Hey Mark... Glad you liked our Bengal food... There is just one thing I'd like to tell you... The vegetable you had after the fish curry is called 'Mochar Ghonto'... Its not mashed potatoes with coconuts, the main ingredient is called mocha which is the flower of banana which is chopped finely and cooked by a lot of spices... Basically Mocha is the previous form of the banana, the bud or the flower that turns into banana later... And you have missed a lot of great foods of our city of joy which you must try at least one in your life... Thank you for visiting our city of joy... Please visit again :D

I am a bengali from Kolkata & there have much more delicious dishes in Bengali tradition which you should try once. "Aloo Posto", "muri ghonto"(a must try dish), "mochar paturi"(mouth watering dish cooked in the banana leaf envelope), mochar ghonto, Ilish vapa(hilsa fish boiled with mustard paste & green chili. It gives a heavenly taste with steamy rice), chingri malaikari etc. Next time when you are in kolkata please try those dishes.

Actually the last thing Mark had was candied “saunf” which the serving guy mispronounced as “saunp “ that Mark thought was “soap” to clean the mouth. Saunf is fennel that is used in India as a mouth freshener as well as for its digestive properties. Mark is so appreciative and insanely polite! Keep that golden heart glowing Mark! Stay blessed! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  • @TrilmaRose

Hahaha! Mark Wiens you cracked me up. Its not Soap. Its Saunf = Fennel seeds coated with sugar or something sweet :D . Not your mistake, those guys pronounced it incorrectly. Also it does not clean your mouth. It acts like a natural mouth freshner.
