Thanks for another great video Jack. Let me recommend you do a trucker's pets video, where you show clips of truckers and their pets which you've seen across the country. That would be an interesting one.
Great video! I really admire the way Jack deals with the inconveniences of everyday driving. At Lowes he had to do a u-turn and then put the truck in the shop for a repair and he didn't say a single curse word nor was his day ruined. He's a pro!
Sometimes we flatbedders get told to park in the center of the drive so they can unload both sides. I know it has to be that way, but I hate blocking other trucks like that. I think they should have a place for us to park where we aren't blocking the whole drive. Another great video Jack!
Good job on the re-gen fix Jack. I guess after over a million miles with, Old Red, you know her like your own child. Looks like you hit the north side of that horrible Louisiana storm. Looking forward to the continuation of this adventure. Thanks for sharing sir.
Glad you mentioned the hot dog stand. I was just in Denver and the Home Depot close to my daughters house had a hot dog stand next to the contractors entrance. I thought "what a great idea".
You reminded me of Lowes Hardware in Cary North Carolina with a Jims Old Time hotdog stand out front serving Nathan's hotdogs and all the freshest fixings. Yum
Always enjoy your videos Jack! I drove a Semi truck from '02- '04. Back then we did not have those fancy emissions engines and all the problems that come along with them. No regens necessary.
thanks jack much appreciated these videos i am in the process of going to school for my cdl my father was a veteran trucker 30 plus years maybe you remember ol no.7 can't wait to see the next video
Jack good on you for always doing the right thing. I am sure that you have saved hours of eventual hassle by doing things by the book. Stay safe, and look forward to your next video.
Trucking is an everyday adventure. We are team drivers. (X O/O) now company drivers. We get great scenery but also never know what will delay you from curve to curve and shipper to receiver. Glad you got your regen working. They are a pain.
love your videos Jack. lowes look a lot like our Bunnings here in Australia which I do a lot of. I drive an old Mercedes Actros pulling a 41ft flat top with treated pine lumber.
Man i admire your calm and dedication for trucking when things goes bad sometime i have an hard time keeping myself calm like you do hehe anyway it is good watching your videos keep them coming
I drive a diesel truck for a shipping company. Way smaller truck but I get those same problems as you do with the EGR system. I have experienced that 5 mph emergency mode many times in traffic. I feel your pain.
I'm not sure how this happened but I totally missed this one... I must have been busy that day, good thing I checked your channel! its like finding one last present under the xmas tree lol.
Nice to hear that this mechanic was able to find the problem and fix it in a single attempt. I recall the clustertruck with the EGR valve that had you out of service for days and many parts replaced only to find the original replacement EGR was bad. Bang your head against the wall frustrating. Well, ya got a good one this time. Too bad they can't all be like this. Or never have a problem at all. (fantasy)
@indianajacktrucker the regen process is part on the exhaust system. EGR is tapped early on from the exhaust, its then cooled and feed back into the intake manifold. The regen is a process of clearing the soot trapped in the DPF (diesel particulate filter) these system use urea or def (diesel exhaust fluid) before the filter. It transforms NOx (nitrogen oxide) into nitrogen and oxygen. Then traps the soot when the flow through the filter becomes restricted it enters regen by increase the exhaust temperature in burns the soot out of the filter. when this fails to occur they eventually go into limp mode and like you said go about 5 mph which is safe on the highway. This system is responsible for more engine failures then any other system. Also DPF regen isnt close to a catalytic converter that more like the urea injection.
Same thing happened to me and my truck while I was in Salina, Kansas with my Regen and engine shutdown. My company put me in a hotel for 2 days while it was being fixed.
Hey jack, enjoyed the video i just watched . I like how your direct and to the point on what your doing or where your going vs. some other youtube trucker videos i`ve watched that ramble on for 20 minutes about just endless crap. I noticed a million plus miles on the odometer. at what point do you upgrade or get a new truck? What motor do you have in your truck?
Jack,if you ever get that same code again,a lot of times you can reset it by disconnecting the battery. It essentially means there was a problem with the temp during the regen process and as you see it usually caused by the injector being dirty and failing etc.But I have had it happen a few times when conditions weren't exactly right for a regen. Although if you had the original injector in the system it was time to just replace it.But resetting the comp and trying a manual regen should have worked well enough most times to get the load and or get to a preferred shop etc............Also how many miles has it been since you had the system cleaned?I recall they did it during one of the egr nightmare repairs but I forget how many miles its been.
Oh now I see - the 7th injector is in the exhaust? For urea - that is DEF? I first thought how come the inline6 would have a 7th injector... I also thought that your Volvo is not yet a DEF truck... Ahh, now I see more, it may inject fuel too, in order to help the converterregeneration... Right? :)
I have been driving since 1987 and unless they have changed the number of cylinder displacements in diesel engines, my question is "How do you get a 7th injector when there is only 6 in a 6 cylinder diesel engine"?
I wish Jack would tell us why he isn't using the Rand Tablet anymore. I threw mine in the garbage after sending it back twice and still freezing up on me, not downloading updates and just general software issues.
yeknod99 not true. there are 3 types of regens. active, passive and parked. active is highway driving where no 7th injector is used as Temps are high enough from driving. passive is when the 7th injector is used to create heat in the DOC which will be used in the city. parked is pretty well self explanatory with use of the 7th injector as well.
Modern Diesels are like this. Volvo have not factored in the additional idle time your trucks endure due to much higher temperatures in the USA and the DPF can't cope. If you like the Volvo there might be an option to install a 'donkey engine' to run AC and allow the engine to be shut down - it would certainly save you $$ on fuel
Thanks for another great video Jack. Let me recommend you do a trucker's pets video, where you show clips of truckers and their pets which you've seen across the country. That would be an interesting one.

Hands down the best trucking videos!

Glad you mentioned the hot dog stand. I was just in Denver and the Home Depot close to my daughters house had a hot dog stand next to the contractors entrance. I thought "what a great idea".

Good video Jack, sorry about the regen...bummer, but on a bright side, old Red is looking Gooood!...
Always enjoy your videos Jack! I drove a Semi truck from '02- '04. Back then we did not have those fancy emissions engines and all the problems that come along with them. No regens necessary.
Safe travels Jack,iv got a new gig,3300 km a week on a dedicated reefer run....life is good
Very nice video Jack. Perfect in every way. I enjoyed watching it twice. Looking fwd to part 2 of this adventure. Be safe out there.
Good video Jack - thanks for having us join you...safe travels.
hello Jack you are my favorite TH-camr among the trucking vids always enjoy them just great be careful out there lots of crazy folks and God Bless
I always enjoy your well-produced videos and commentary. Keep up the good work.
Great video again,Jack.
I'm glad Old Red is keeping on rolling!
thanks jack much appreciated these videos i am in the process of going to school for my cdl my father was a veteran trucker 30 plus years maybe you remember ol no.7
can't wait to see the next video
Jack good on you for always doing the right thing. I am sure that you have saved hours of eventual hassle by doing things by the book. Stay safe, and look forward to your next video.
liked the view when you were backing up to the dock. best angle
Awsome Vids Can't Wait To See ur Next Vid It's Always a New Adventure

GLAD YOU GOT THE TRUCK FIXED AND YOU WERE ABLE TO KEEP YOUR LOAD...
Great video! Thanks for sharing.
happy that you were able to keep the good paying LTL freight; you neede a break Jack. thanks for sharing.
Hey Jack, I'm enjoying Ur videos.. Great job... hopefully Ill run into U one of these good days when I'm on the Rd in the US.
You are a very calm in times of challenge and disappointment. I imagine you have to be flexible and even keeled in this business.
Page peel is a great effect but spin-aways are cool too :)
Great video as usual Jack.
I'm not sure how this happened but I totally missed this one... I must have been busy that day, good thing I checked your channel! its like finding one last present under the xmas tree lol.
Hi Jack, thanks for sharing your videos. You are a really talented at editing in my opinion, stay safe friend.
another great video ind.Jack

Sorry to hear you had your problem. My truck is in the shop right now and I wish that guy was working on it this time.
I am glad the newer trucks can tell you that problems exist instead it just all of a sudden will not go over 5mph.
"When there are too many trucks, it causes a cluster truck." LOL
Jack, thanks for videos
great vid Jack. drive safely.
i love your vids Jack. My grandma did trucking fer 31 years!
thats your grandma? she was well known haha!
Chris Smith really? What was her name?

keep on truckin´!!! greetings from norway.. we all love heavy loads of about 30tons here :D
I stayed at that FlyingJ once right after it opened. I try not to stop there just on account of how the set is and how full it gets real quick.
A Cluster Truck.. LOL Love it...
great vid jack, i enjoyed it
Mister Jack, at 22:30 what kind of bug was that? Hughes or what? We sure do not have them beast in Western Canada.
Hey I'm from Mobile, it looks like you had a nice ride on U.S 98 into Mobile, hopefully it was an easy ride across Mobile Bay.
Picture quality and camera angles much better!
Someone look from 14:14 and check out the railway line and the miniature tunnel! What's that about? 🇬🇧
Very fine, you have patience, Archive
Thanks for sharing the videos👍🏿
I can see the pain. Old red seems to be having a string of mechanical breakdowns. EGR is a much as a pain in the Uk as out there in the USA.
Like to see u go to Oregon more!
I hauled a lot of drywall to Lowe’s. Took hours to get unloaded because they took all of the Lowe’s trucks first. You know, sit and wait.
I didn't know that old Petes. had regen system in them, I've got a 2006, and it's not corked up
Oh the suspense ... I can't wait
Same thing happened to me and my truck while I was in Salina, Kansas with my Regen and engine shutdown. My company put me in a hotel for 2 days while it was being fixed.
Hey Jack! You're delivering to the city I live in - Brunswick, GA!
Have it fixed at Bruckner's Volvo in Dallas? Hope all is well. Love the videos as always. Thanks
Is that a CNG refuelling station at 22:47?
You will have less of that regen issue with the newer def trucks if it asks you to do a parked regen it means you have an issue on the newer trucks.
how many years you plan on driving 🚛🚛🚛🚛

I don't envy you having to back up. I'd be afraid someone snuck in behind me when I wasn't looking and I'd crash into them.
Seems the engineering marvels cause some nightmares too... But, we clients are sometimes a testbench. Hope they innovate better...
Right? :)
I'm always confused with that Sonic ordering arrangement. Have a safe trip.
Got a Cummins in Red? Never liked a Cummins always was replacing injectors!
ha ha.. prime blocking the entrance with a DC load. feel bad for them Jack those loads are aweful to pull.
what kind of transmission is old red?
I have been driving since 1987 and unless they have changed the number of cylinder displacements in diesel engines, my question is "How do you get a 7th injector when there is only 6 in a 6 cylinder diesel engine"?
Why do they have two trailers(cfi and another)just sitting at the docks?Too lazy to unload?
Who knows? Why Lamont Cranston knows, " What evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows". That sort of dates me doesn't it, ha.
Jack, you should carry a few dozen bananas with you to throw out the window at lot lizards and bicycles.
enjoyed the rest of the trip you did? - asked Yoda
Hey Jack, Is a Regen part of the Californians smog emissions system ?
IndianaJack are all truckers using automatic transmissions now? If not, I need to learn
Most of the new trucks that companies buy are the new autoshift type trucks. They get phenomenal fuel mileage
Sure like that United McGill trailer.
I wish Jack would tell us why he isn't using the Rand Tablet anymore. I threw mine in the garbage after sending it back twice and still freezing up on me, not downloading updates and just general software issues.
I didn't have any trouble with mine but I didn't like the fact that I couldn't see it with my sunglasses on.
New Dimension I have a garmin now. It is the biggest pile of shit
u cqn regen while d4ivibg?
hey jack no bacon ? couldn't spring for the beverage either?
What did you mean by " oh their prime"?
Do you float or double clutch?
Christopher Allen -grinds them till he finds them!
Hi Jack,
Whats up with the new intro tune? Did I miss something?
As OO When you deadhead 200 mil do you get paid for it?
hey jack, I think you're clutch brake needs adjusted..... You always grind them from a stop... LOL
Yes...I need a new one.
it's ok. my wife and i didnt have a very pleasant sonic experience either.
I hope you fix those squeaking wipers. I hope that's not metal on glass. You'll never get that scratch out.
yes u got to keep the load
Doesn't that turn signal drive you bananas?
Hi Indiana Jack,
What is a 7th injector? I thought that a heavy duty Diesel has 6 cylinders with one injector per cylinder.
George Travers the 7th injector is for the DEF.
19:25 -- Oh help; save me from the vicious animal [LOL]. Looks like the only things he terrorizes is his bone and his owner.
That dog did that all day long....great entertainment. HA!
A regen' is basically when the truck needs to take a dump.
deadhead 200 miles for a 1,500.00 load....sounds a little bit short jack, don't matter how light the load is....
Do you like driving a truck? Would you rather do a different job?
What is a truck regen..?
It helps make a truck not bellow out a lot of smog.
hiya jack, hope you're well. I can't think of a worse way to waste money and put ware on your engine than to idle all night.
Hi Jack, do you need a good load or a highway run to do a proper regen ?
Not really...she does them in most conditions.
indianajacktrucker Thanks Jack, I really enjoy your videos :-)
Regen wont happen while you're driving around the city. Either constant highway or parked is the only way it will complete.
yeknod99 not true. there are 3 types of regens. active, passive and parked. active is highway driving where no 7th injector is used as Temps are high enough from driving. passive is when the 7th injector is used to create heat in the DOC which will be used in the city. parked is pretty well self explanatory with use of the 7th injector as well.
