I am ALL IN! I bought Affinity Photo in 2015 and dumped Adobe after 25 years of use because of their horrible subscription rip-off. I also bough Affinity Designer followed by Affinity Publisher (I bought both desktop and iPad versions) and I couldn’t be happier. I spent a little time reading and navigating these programs, and the more I used these apps the more I appreciated how seamlessly they worked. So much faster, easier, and smoother with smaller file sizes! These programs are a joy to use and I am a huge fan! I am anxiously awaiting what is revealed on November 9, and will be first in line to purchase whatever you have to offer. Best wishes for even more well deserved success for your company and the wonderful products that so many people are now able to obtain at a reasonable price point with very professional results! Thank you !
People like doing this, trash talking about Photoshop and the horrible subscription. But Adobe + Lightroom cost 12 euro a month. That is not much for state of the art software. And you can say a lot about how good Affinity Photo is, Photoshop is filled with A.I. these days.. and it took me 5 minutes to completly clean up a Photo with problems, in few clicks. It would take me at least a hour in Photo. I had to do 5 photo's. So that was almost a workday in Photo, and i did this all under 1 hour in Photoshop. U see.. paying 1 price or a subscription... i made Photoshop worth int in 1 client project for the rest of the year. People compare it unfair. Maybe Photo 2 will come with advanced A.I. And i think they need it. Because A.I. in photo editing is ramping up fast. With Photoshop in the lead big time.
As an Affinity Designer for iPad user I hope our version of the app is not neglected because there are CRUCIAL tools/functions that are missing like the shape builder tool, blend tool for shapes, envelope distort for warping text or typography, and also misalignment bugs in the isometric and triangular grids that need fixing ASAP. It would also be great if we can do a large number of duplications with value inputs instead of going through the trouble of clicking the three dots next to the personas every time we want to duplicate say like 60 times or more.
Well this is the thing I hope they're trying to nail competently, which is the UI/UX. Sure, features are welcome (there are some great ones in Inkscape that any vector program should have, like interpolation) but it's the workflow that is the bottleneck. So, the video says they've tackled it; how it's executed otoh, fingers crossed. I've ended up using Vectornator and Inkscape more because the workflow in Designer for ipad is too longwinded. Unless you want to tone your arms, then it's a good way to do it.
Listen, be part of the change and not part of the hate. If you need Shape Builder, go to subscription mode with Adobe Illustrator or one time payment with Vector Styler. Stop asking a company to behave like another. Learn to appreciate a company for what it offers and stop asking to be a clone of the one you can't afford! I owned all Affinity Apps (Desktop and iPad Pro) and I don't have any complaints. The moment I need something I was used to with another app, it will be the moment to go back to that app.
@@albertkinng Dude, relax. you're sounding more 'hate'ful than they are. Just because a company created an alternative to adobe doesn't mean they're your mom or jesus christ
@@Nomo_Popo dude relax? Hey jackass, had it not been for the recent dispute between pantone and adobe, designers wouldn't have had to sign up for a $15 per month usage of pantone colors. Aquire and conquer is Adobes formula.
Animation program. I mean I know it is a big ask, but a simple animation app that can create really quick animated vectors feels like it just does not exist like it did back in the days of Flash. Especially, now I am trying to make stuff for an LMS and it just requires me to jump to software that is out of my price range or feels incomprehensible. Regardless of what you bring out I will be there. Your software has made a massive change to my work. I felt priced out of other software and since Macromedia was absorbed by Adobe I have never really been happy with what Adobe did with Freehand and Flash.
Excited about the launch of 2.0! Hoping to see patterns and easier object/layer selection (in files that have too many). Also some AI editing tools and non-destructive tone-mapping persona would be great to haves
Be very careful of a supposed v2.0. For example, having a lot of trouble with squarespace who insist on spot-welding new features on old coding foundations. Maybe this is good for investors but bad news for paying users. Exactly the same as microsoft in the 90s - glossy updates trying to work with rusting backbones.

Looks like we're getting something exciting soon! I'm so grateful for everything the Affinity team has done. Their products are absolutely amazing and I'm happy that it replaced my Adobe tools.
Let's be honest, the Affinity products are powerful. The reasons why this company is succeeding and continues to grown is simply because they do listen to their customers. They deliver unsurpassed services through fb chat, forum support with no bs, and ownership of a product. I once told an Adobe marketing person people do not like the subscription model as I am one of them. And she said that was funny as she's never heard complaints. Well she was full of it because anyone and everyone who works for Adobe knows the consumer does not like it, but is sucked into it. Once you migrate off the Adobe suit you'll be proud of yourself and doing a good thing by enriching the needed competition.
ALL I WANT IS: - non-destructive warping - smart objects - an easier liquify tool (destructive like) I'd be over the moon if they release their own After Effects, and make a Linux version but not holding my breath for these.
@@sanderbos The "one more thing" is Publisher for iPad. They confirmed earlier this year that it will be released before the end of the year. And it lines up with the Apple reference. ;)

Ever since Serif Draw Plus 2.0, included with a PC I bought in 1995 from, of all places, Montgomery Wards in Texas, I have been using, supporting, and unabashedly promoting Serif/Affinity. Over the years I have used just about every pixel-pushing app that's ever existed, from shareware to open source to the mind-popping expensive, but no matter the cost few of them have matched the quality and ease of use as those by Affinity. Well thought out, intuitive interfaces on professional level, stable, and fun to use graphic apps, offered for a reasonable price, Affinity has been doing this consistently, reliably, and honestly for over 35 years. When others stagnated, bloated out, sold out, cashed out, or fizzled out (or retired to a Castle in Germany, live long and prosper, Kai. you are indeed royalty) Affinity has remained true, both to their software and those of us fortunate enough to be using it. They have had a continued Affinity, you might say, and that says a lot about the company and the people behind it. I for one am very grateful, my creative journey would not have been near as colorful otherwise. As long as we have that Affinity, any news is good news. Peace.
Well that was a let down. Your current apps will not be updated, if you want to continue using our products, buy our new V2. Oh, updates will only be until we release V3, then you will need to buy again for updates. They just moved to a stealth annual subscription model. Bummer .
I wouldn't count on it being annual, it was stated from the beginning that this would be happening at some point- version 1 was around for quite a while. Also, V1 still works. You don't exactly lose anything :D
@@RobbWallaceMedia You are losing Features you never had (same as me), that's just how this works. I mean, they have to make money *somehow* and this is still far better than a subscription, since you don't lose access to the old product and can just stop paying.

Just watched the video again, it all matches up with your spoiler. "Redesign", "New way of working". "Something big is coming" (although Adobe probably does not like to be called 'something').
Exactly, because none of their products are professional yet and don’t stand equal to Adobe. I bought Affinty’s products in the hope they were a true competitor to Adobe, but they’re not.
For many people nowadays Davinci Reslove = Premium Pro, After Effect, Adobe Audition + Davinci's strongest grasp on color grading, where no software can match. Affinity Suite = Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign PenPot = Adobe XD or Adobe Figma.
Sounds very exciting, new icons looks cool btw, if these are the new ones. Just in time while I was wondering about going back to Ai because of the features. Affinity Designer always worked fast and do what it is able to perfectly but was missing some options that only Ai is offering for now. This 2.0 suite is coming just in time.
Hoping slicing, contour, curve text are updated to make it easier to do. Also would be nice if it didn’t take up so much space. I’d be completely okay with a web version for it to be quicker when using various things within the program
Fantastic! Looking forward to the new updates so that I can create more courses and tutorials on using Affinity Designer for surface pattern design wohooo 😍

Looks like Christmas is coming early this year folks! I love so many things about the Affinity Suite. I tip my hat to the whole team. You've created incredible software and I'm sure this update will be great.
Ps- Please never switch to a subscription model.
I'm refreshing the site once every hour.
I ONLY use the iOS version so hopeful as well!
So before you say relax, just think of all the inconsistent assholery shenanigans these major corporate design apps have done to the design industry with monopolistic approaches, especially the new Adobe acquisition of Figma, which was fine all on its own without Adobes help, for 20 billion dollars. Aquire and conquer is Adobes formula.
OK it's the 9th here in Ireland, what time is the announcement?
Never used Affinity products before… consider my interest peaked!
Coincidentally, Google just sent me to your 'shape building' tut, as a major request in the comments for this.
Video editing software?
They wouldn’t put graphics of any kind in their promos unless it was made by one of their products. Looks interesting! Very excited for 2.0!
To even think about that makes my heart beat faster. 😅
I have all the Serif legacy products as well as Affinity Draw. Whats missing is a Video editor. Movie Plus was years ahead when it was available, and could only wish a new modern Video editor is on the cards.
I would love to see a video app with the features of photo along with timeline etc
AFFINITY is BIG already. That means "SOMETHING BIGGER IS COMING"
I like the mind behind Affinity, it's the modern way of working and will be the way things are done in the future.
Thanks to our Affinity Team.
I have never been more excited for a software update/announcement.
Man. It's weird to be an adult.
So excited to see what you're bringing that will continue to help my self-taught designer butt. I recommend your products to everyone.
Been a Serif user since Photo Plus 3 and Serif Publisher for many, many years, and always looked forward to the regular updates. CAN NOT WAIT.
Can't wait for this! I hope for an image tracing and a Graph tool in Affinity Designer.
Isn't it November 9th today? Why is there no movement?
Affinity apps already streamline my work so elegantly. I bet a new version will allow me to go above and beyond with how I approach my illustration and UI work
Way to go Serif! Can't wait to see what you guys have been up to. OOOH THE HYPE!
As long as they don't go to subscription.
Its already Nov 9 here, wheres the update?
Love your Products, love your company, love what you stand for ❤
Can we hope of any discount for your softrware on Black Friday?
A photo's portfolio would be fantastic! (With that, you will shake the Adobe Lightroom!)
@Affinity
what time will it go live and or what time will it be posted on youtube please put a "premiere" on youtube so we can hit "remind me". Thanks in advance, a supporter from the Netherlands
A video editing and compositing program to make the media processing creative suite complete. Finally!
Would be awesome!
compositing yes, AE has no competition, editing no need to.
I tested my illustrator project, which lags heavily in illustrator due to being layer and raster heavy, but in designer it pans and works souch faster.
Looking forward to the 9th and what you guys have in store for us.
I love and will always love your software, they do what a designer has to do without stress, the new "A" is you 👌 very glad you keep improving 👏
Love you Affinity. just about to publish my second Cook Island Bi-lingual graphic novel thanks to you!
Keep it up! Your products are fantastic!
Looks like we're getting something exciting soon! I'm so grateful for everything the Affinity team has done. Their products are absolutely amazing and I'm happy that it replaced my Adobe tools.
I hear creative suite, I think video editing. I also think subscription model…hope I’m wrong on one of these!
Nah, subscription is unlikely
Hoping for WebP support! It's been essential in getting image size down.
Version 2.0!
I'm not dissapointed, totally buying all the apps now! 😊❤
Affinity 2.0 + Publisher on iPad
ALL I WANT IS:
- non-destructive warping
- smart objects
- an easier liquify tool (destructive like)
I'd be over the moon if they release their own After Effects, and make a Linux version but not holding my breath for these.
I hope they don't announce they're switching to subscription model :D
I was about to get the Affinity Photo and came across this video when doing my research. Guess I'll wait till the 9th to make the purchase 😉
I've been waiting for Affinity Lightroom. Please let the dream come true 🙏
That would actually be awesome, but I don't think this video announcement matches up with that, unless it's the one more thing near the end.
@@sanderbos The "one more thing" is Publisher for iPad. They confirmed earlier this year that it will be released before the end of the year. And it lines up with the Apple reference. ;)
It is 9 nov already :) ?
That sounds like 2.0's coming to me! I was actually just wondering when that was coming out yesterday, because I'm looking to buy the Affinity Suite, but they're on version 1.9 which came out last year, so I figured 2.0 couldn't be far off.
That's not how versioning in tech necessarily works. But I'd have to agree, this could be a 2.0
@@_Optional_ Oh yeah, I'm aware of that. There's incremental versions in between and such, but Affinity has a track record of going up a major number every year.
@@firalia It's more than that, version numbers are not decimal numbers. V 1.100 could be a more recent version compared to V1.90 for example.
@@Ziplock9000 yes, that's some strange naming practice...
The big question is: is it an Upgrade or a new purchase?
when it's coming ?
Every time I use your products, I'm amazed at their capabilities. I'm eager to see what's new on the horizon and congratulate you for your outstanding business model.
ha cuanto van a poner la mensualidad ?
It is time already!
Can't wait to hear the big announcement! Thank you Affinity team for all you have provided so far. Maybe the news is something video related? A motion graphics program?
Hope to continue without subscriptions and pay once. I have the photo and designer for my windows and with new incoming new suite I hope to get for my Mac as well. Maybe video editor and counterpart of After effects would be cool if not too much to ask. ❤
@@That0neJawn I am losing updates! I am losing all those new features that have just been announced. I am losing my belief in Affinity.
@@RobbWallaceMedia You are losing Features you never had (same as me), that's just how this works. I mean, they have to make money *somehow* and this is still far better than a subscription, since you don't lose access to the old product and can just stop paying.
Is there is a special price to pass at version 2 from version 1?
Nope, you'll have to buy it again. Feels pretty icky if I'm being honest :/
WHen I saw this in the email a few moments ago I though "F**K no, they are acquired by Adobe..." But watching the video, I am relieved. Good video to built tension, hoping for something in the video space, but I know this is a completely different type of animal. But the Affinity products have been so awesome, this is probably a nearly instant "click to buy" :)
"Auto Trace" for Affinity Designer and Affinity's equivalent to "Adobes After Effects" app would blow the market wide-open
I hope it is a Linux version of your suite, I will leave Windows immediately and take my complete workflow to linux, Blender + DaVinci Resolve + Affinity Suite, the Perfect match!
Amen!
I already switched using blender and reaolve... Krita is very good for painting but heck yeah this will be epic!!
Animation plugins? :D
now 9 november, what happen?
🙃
Whether this is hinting at a version 2.0 for the Affinity suite, or just a major feature update, I'm looking forward to it!
I am going to take a couple guesses on what the next big thing is.
1) UI Design updates
2) 3D Mockups
I am willing to pay for an upgrade just because I detest the subscription model. Excited to see what is being offered!
Affinity’s version of After Effects?
Maybe a Video Editor first?
Probably not. Not without an NLE first. It will also be hard to be better than Resolve.
@@th3seus That’s what I’m waiting for… Affinity Movie!
@@lightningblender And there's HitFilm (free express and pro), Vegas, Camtasia/Filmora for the casuals, etc, etc, etc (admittedly, Davinci reigning supreme, only second to Premiere). Plus a pair of very powerful freeware apps, and other equally good open source (keyshot, etc...none even close to Davinci).
@@3polygons uhhh controversy: Resolve > Premiere :P
Yeah the NLE space is densely crowded. Let me FCPX to your list as well.
Honestly, I'll be stoked if you just updated Designer with some as-of-yet absent basic tools like perspective, free transform, shape blending, text wrap to shape, and tracing 😉. However, I am excited to see what's in store tomorrow.
As long as whatever all this is doesn't come with a subscription service, I'm on board! :D
Zu welcher Uhrzeit soll der Event stattfinden?
Alle Liebe.
Oh yeah, don't tell me you fixed the crashes in the font dialog!!1 😁😉
I’m so ready for iPad publisher, I already have Designer and Photo on my iPad. Now that I have windows I’m looking to get Publisher on it this month as well.
Please introduce the ability to crop to selection, like MS paint has had since last century. Otherwise, I love your products ❤
...for now try CTRL + SHIFT C for copy flattened then CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + N for New from Clipboard to paste to a new cropped document ;-)
@@SiBennett thank you very much. I found that one as a workaround in the forums. That’s what I use, but I really wish I could do control shift X like in Photoshop. Thanks again 😊
It is Nov 9
Keep waiting........
Actually hyped as-long as its not subscription based
Im designer and art director. About 4 years ago my whole studio proudly moved from Adobe to Affinity software only. I've never been so hyped with Ps or Ai like I'm now with Affinity. Is it gonna be Affinity pack 2.0? idk, but long live the king!
I want Motion Graphics!
Well worth every penny I spent on V2, the universal license is a game changer specially since I'm going to buy an iPad next year and was hesitant to do so because of the lack of publisher but since the iPad will handle all apps now from affinity together with capture one and resolve I'm set. my complete suite less blender will be at my disposal on the go.
Hoping it’s Affinity Movie! 🙏
They can't for sure wait to compete with free programs like Resolve and iMovie!
That would be awesome btw,.. but the only Software which simply doesn’t have a competitor to adobe in any way is by far after effects. Not one application out there with capabilities just near to it unfortunately.
WOOOHOOO!!! They're finally implementing the blend tool for shapes in Designer! That's all I've wanted.
Already a fan of the software so anything else is just extra.
Spoiler: they've been bought by Adobe
... do NOT even joke about that, man. Not cool.
Just watched the video again, it all matches up with your spoiler. "Redesign", "New way of working". "Something big is coming" (although Adobe probably does not like to be called 'something').
OMG, I just died. 😄
That white curved thingy animation in the middle sure looks like the Creative Cloud logo :)
and after that AVID bought Adobe .. be prepare for Creative Ultimate Pro subscriptions .. $ 10.000 /month introductory price ..
I hope that it will finally be possible to say that Affinity Publisher is a PROFESSIONAL publishing tool.
Yup... agree... but - y'know - they've only being doing it for decades so ease up on them dude.
Exactly, because none of their products are professional yet and don’t stand equal to Adobe. I bought Affinty’s products in the hope they were a true competitor to Adobe, but they’re not.
Same for Photo!
Hell F’ing yeah, hopefully the something big is animation software akin to flash/animate...but anyway excited to see what’s coming 👍🏻
Thank you for all you do!
Love Affinity 👍
Come on, it is november 9.... what are you waiting for??????
Maybe 9 Nov, but next year 🤷♂️🤦🏼♂️
For many people nowadays
Davinci Reslove = Premium Pro, After Effect, Adobe Audition + Davinci's strongest grasp on color grading, where no software can match.
Affinity Suite = Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
PenPot = Adobe XD or Adobe Figma.
Blender = max, maya,c4d,zbrush,substance,animate 😂
Pretty much just listed all my apps! Hoping for a DAM as Capture One is expensive. Lightroom = Capture One
Hi. But we don't know yet if it's about 2.0. Do we?
@@fanatic632 In their forum, they're more specific. So yes, 2.0 is coming ;-)
@@StepanTrnka Oh. Could you please share the link? I didn't know about that.
Hoping slicing, contour, curve text are updated to make it easier to do. Also would be nice if it didn’t take up so much space. I’d be completely okay with a web version for it to be quicker when using various things within the program
Is my father finally coming back home with the milk?
Fantastic! Looking forward to the new updates so that I can create more courses and tutorials on using Affinity Designer for surface pattern design wohooo 😍
Affinity Video Editor is all I hope and pray for. Finally could leave the expensive Adobe suite for something likely a thousand times better.
And there is good options today like DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut ect.. What Affinity could do better in video world...
I came here to write the same comment ...
bro Davinci is like premiere, after effects, and audition all in one.
A Linux port of the Affinity products?
Image vectorization?
A crop function that doesn't have different DPI set as default?
Shortcut keys for functions that don't have shortcuts yet?
All of the above?
Or something completely different than no user ever asked for?
