Hope you are doing better. I'm a guy, 49 that had it in 1986. Treated much different back then. Spleen and many lymph nodes removed, full mantle cobalt radiation. The long term effects of that has been crazy. Thyroid was destroyed, heart and lung issues galore, 11 stents and 5 bypass, lots of fatigue, etc. what they do these days is so much more gentle. It's sucks having the diagnosis but a long life is very possible. Hopefully they will get everything cured and wish you a long life.
john lepkowski Wow! That sounds tremendously challenging but I must say you have provided me with so much hope. You've been through a lot and your attitude is very encouraging. Amazing as time goes on how treatments change. I too wish you good health and a long life. Xo

yes GPs make you feel crazy when you ask for help about lumps bumps and pains. ironic right. ok i have lumps on my hands , neck , and groin . ive dropped 2 stone since August i trained for 18 months prior and stayed the same weight . ive had a lot of stress but this pain is beyond its 24/7 with holistic care , stretches, oils , now im taking 8 paracetamol a day and still pain . i was diagnosed last year of BRCA2 after losing my Mum to young to cancer. i have been to GP and A&E and theyve offered me pills for depression not so much as blood pressure examination. im so scared and angry right now thanks for sharing xx as i type the pain in my neck is so tence i cant sleep at night or rest my head comfortably. tomo i am demanding answers my son and dog need me x
It's really hard not to freak out. Trust me on that. But good on you for checking it out. Also I always figure it's better to be prepared than to be surprised. Fingers crossed :)
I have the same lump. My lymph node was 1.8cm with central necrosis. There is no pain though, so that part is different from yours. I just had a biopsy 3 days ago. My post-op appt is the 20th. Really nervous, but I'm trying to stay positive. The incision is like 2-2 1/2 inches long and hurts like crazy. I pray you're doing well. I see this was from 10 years ago.
@interrupted9671 turned out I was lied to. I didn't have central necrosis "thankfully" but my post-opt appt is tomorrow and I want answers. Central necrosis doesn't just disappear.
My lump looks like this and I see my doctor tomorrow. Thank you so much for this video. I hope they don't gaslight me. I went last week with swallowing difficulties, itching fatigue etc and was told it was long covid. I was too scared to bring up the lump because he was dismissive. Getting a second opinion. Feel so stupid for not bringing it up.
Never ever feel stupid, you were overwhelmed not stupid. You are getting it looked at now and hoping for good news for you. It's so scary to have to even think about it. The symptoms are "vague" at the time as you slowly experience them but together with a lump it forces you to take it more seriously. Really glad you are. 🙂
I'm sorry you're going through this. I had Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2008 and after chemo and radiation, I am in remission. I then had non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2016. Again, after chemo, I'm in remission. I wish you well.
I'm going through my investigations now. Neck ultrasound shows a 4.5 cm 'soft tissue' mass in the same area on the left side. (Radiologist didn't say lymph node specifically, rather 'soft tissue') Waiting for my MRI. The anxiety is horrible. Thank you for sharing.
hello there thank u for the video for me these type of videos were important for me more than talking with my doctors iam a non hodjkin's lymphoma survivor , this is type of cancer is easy to beat it in it's early stage , so if u or anyone have a mass diagonsed as enlarge lymph node and it didn't return to it's normal size with medications u should remove and analyse it even u were in good health and ur health and blood remarkables were perfect , don't waste ur time plz
Hello Maged, I suppose in your case it didn't show any symptoms other than the persistent lymph node and you were able to detect it in its early stages?
thanks for the encouragement! and I'm so glad you are doing so well! God is good :) I'll keep on fighting this thing. looking for a better Dr right now! wish me luck :)
Thanks for posting this Chelsea! The upper right side of my neck has been swollen for a while and I'm getting "pins and needles" down my right arm and hand. Because of the pain when I moved my neck to the right, I thought it was a pinched nerve
My lymph node under my left jaw has gotten massive 5cm or so. They just did the ultrasound guided biopsy and took two core samples. Now I wait for the results. You're right, they don't say anything to you. The color drains out of the nurses and staff and the refer you to the next steps. My grandmother died of Hodgkin's so I suppose it's in the genes. Good luck to you on your journey.
Thank you for your kind thoughts and time you took replying. I had a lymph node biopsy on Friday and surgeon removed four lymph nodes in the groin. Now the waiting begins. Will find out in one week - Monday, October 4. Here's a weird question for you - did you notice (or in hind-sight realize) that your taste buds were affected? All my favorite drinks and some of my fav. foods all taste different. I have always been a sweet-iced-tea gal (yes, I;m from the South) but lately my tea tastes weird. Did you experience this?? Looking forward to your follow-up Chelsea, and thanks again!!
Ms. Staci, I found a lymph in my groin area about 6 months ago, it has become inlarged and discolored. My physician recommended removal and a biopsy. Any words of wisdom?
I would have it removed - my nodes were enlarged and discolored, but biopsy found it was because of my hip Implant ( I had to have a new hip joint five years ago) - they found fragments of metal in my lymph nodes - seems my body is trying to rid itself of the "foreign object" - no signs of lymphoma! YEAH!!
Thank you for sharing Chelsea - you may have just saved my life. After watching this (and being concerned about my night sweats and 40 pound weight loss with exhaustion) I went to the doctor to be told my lymph nodes and spleen are swollen and got blood work and a chest x-ray. Next will be the biopsy. Please let us know how you are doing, as I noticed this was posted a year ago. Thank you again!
Staci, you may have saved yourself by seeking out the information you needed. I'm so pleased I was able to be there to help, it's why I have done these videos. The medical world is so overwhelming and when dealing with this you need to know and be able to question and advocate for your self and potential treatment. I'll be doing a video soon on my one year post chemo. Please let me know how you get on. Thinking happy thoughts for you. Chelsea xoxo
Thanks for sharing! I'm in the process of finding out whether I have some type of lymphoma or leukemia. The lymph nodes in my neck on the right are swollen among many other symptoms. Your video calmed me down a bit. Thanks!
Interesting that you had mono 5 years earlier as 40% of lymphoma cases are linked to prior EBV infection, I've seen a study that stated a mean onset of 4 years after EBV infection. Of course most people have had EBV in their life and don't get lymphoma though. I hope you are doing okay, you have a lovely character.
I have a node in my left neck swollen and had a mammogram today so waiting to see how that fares. I'm being referred to an ENT as well... hate this waiting!
Hello! i just saw your story. Glad to see your doing better!! So I feel like i am in a similar situation. I had mono about two years ago. I currently have a cold, stuffy nose and all that. But i was putting vicks rub on my chest and noticed my left collar bone is enlarged, it is the inner part. It is not painful, just swollen. Im thinking about getting it looked at i am not really sure. But i totally have been googling and freaking out.
Sorry for your diagnosis. I have a second CT scan in the morning for swollen lymph nodes in my messentry near my small intestine. For the last few months I have been really tired and some night sweats and now headaches and dry cough. Still waiting on a biopsy.
Awaiting a ct with contrast result on Tuesday thanks for sharing your story All my friends tell me I’m crazy and don’t worry you don’t have cancer but swollen lymph nodes in four areas of my body primarily the left side since October 2018 I don’t know praying! Not sure how recent this video is but I’ll look to see if you have a update hope everything has turned out well or is getting better for you!
Have you had any other symptoms to go along with your swollen nodes? Waiting for results is the hardest part. You want Tuesday to come fast enough so you don't have to fret each day but you'd almost like it to stay Monday in case it's news you don't want. Keep me updated and nothing but happy thoughts on Tuesday.
great video! It seems that all the things I want to get results for come around on holidays...lol I know that google and TH-cam have helped me tremendously and I thank you for documenting what is going on with you. please keep in touch and I am looking forward to seeing your next video:)
I'm going through something similar. my nurse practitioner says I'm just fat and crazy. that really explains the swollen nodes I'm my neck and cheeks, right? I'm so frustrated. I know I'm not well. ... I'll keep you in my prayers and I'd appreciate any prayers you could send up for me. thanks for posting this video!
Keep fighting and what an awful thing for your doctor to say/decide without further investigations. This is what drives me nuts. If they don't know, just say it, don't pretend or stop investigating making complete assumptions. I'm going to do an update as I am doing really well. Yesterday was my last day of chemo three years ago and I must say I had forgotten which is exciting because I'm not thinking about it everyday like I used to. Life is good. Prayers to you and do not give up on finding out what it truly is even if it is not this *fingers crossed*. xo
I am going for an axillary lymph node biopsy tomorrow. I found a mass under my left axilla a day after getting a pneumovax immunization. I watched it for about 10 days then tried a trial of Keflex. No results. Called my PCP who ordered an ultrasound. Multiple enlarged lymph nodes. I saw a surgeon 2 days ago. We’ll see...
Thank you for sharing! Ive got huge lymph nodes under my armpit they did ultrasounds, mamogram, bloodtest & a needle biopsy going to do my open biopsy tomorrow Im so worried hope you get better soon thats exactly how I felt I knew something wasnt right
I hate the waiting game between the patient and the doctor. I'm waiting for my core needle biopsy result from my lymph node ride below my left jaw. Hopefully all is well even if I know something's not right.
I’ve been on Reddit a lot lately over some lumps and bumps I’ve found - first in my groin and now in my neck. I’m very worried but hopeful it’s nothing.
This was extremely helpful as I'm waiting on my biopsy results after a few months of being bounced around doctors so this really puts me at ease and confirms I'm not crazy! Hope all is well :)
Thank you ! I am with my lymph nodes enlarged since October. I have fatigue and my brain gets foggy sometimes, like I forget words and stuff like that. I did a needle biopsy and it came out with abnormal cells and last week I had a surgical biopsy. I am here waiting on the results. My doctor told my husband after the surgery that the 2 nodes he removed were not as big as he thought but my salivary glands were swollen. I am sure something is wrong with me. But he said I look too healthy and he is expecting the best.
Thank you for the info. I recently discovered swelling on my right side collar bone and a swelling under my left collar bone. I have no medical insurance. Am hoping my disability goes through as I no longer work due to other health conditions. I just also got out of a relationship with a narcissist so my life is a bit hard right now. My dad has Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and I'M be inherited most of his health issues. So Im worried and waiting for something good to happen so I can go see a Dr. Trying not to freak out. 🙁🙂
So, I have a decent size lump in the same spot, right clavicle. Just found it 3-4 days ago. Haven't called the Dr. yet. Now I'm kinda freaking out because everything I've seen says it very well could be Lymphoma.
Thank you for saying they thought you had mono. I haven't seen anyone say anything like that, and that's what my doctor said and my parents wouldn't believe me and wouldn't listen when I got more and when i got a rash. The techs for my ultrasounds were surprised by how many I had. So I don't know what to do :(
Hi Mike! There is no surgical cure for Hodgkin's. They do however do what is called an excisional biopsy (take a large chunk, not the entire node) to verify if it is Hodgkin's and the subtype. Hope this helps :)
Chelsea Burnell thanks for this video! i had a lump come up on my right rip upper.... i dont remember hitting it.. and i do feel a little of a lump... hmm. scary stuff :( hope youre doing goood
So, I discovered a lump in my armpit about a week ago. Since then I developed a horrible rash all over my legs and hands .. Basically all over but mostly my legs and hands. It happened to me for two nights but hasn't come back since but I'm super confused because I have suffered from eczema since I was young and I have never had a rash like this one. I have also completely lost my appetite, resulting in losing 30 lbs in a month. Yes a month. I am so confused cause yesterday I went to urgent care and they did blood and urine tests and all they said was I'm fine but there is something abnormal in my calcium levels and I should go to my family doctor. She was so relaxed about everything and made me feel kind of crazy and like it is all in my head. I just need to know, do these symptoms sound like something I should be worried about or should I take the advice of the urgent care doctor and not worry about it ?! Thanks so much to anyone that responds :)
The fact that you are asking indicates to me you know this is something to worry about. 30lbs in one month without trying is concerning, followed by swollen nodes and rash. I'm so happy you are seeking out other opinions and really advocating for your own health. My blood work was perfect, it was the nodes, itching, fatigue and my relentless intuition that got my diagnosis. Please know there are many versions of lymphoma and with each person it may present very differently. Health and Happiness, Chelsea :) Please let me know how your journey goes. Xo
Did you have shortness of breath? Did you have CT scans? I had non Hodgkins lympoma 7 years ago. I'm worried it's back I'm seeing my oncologist next week

Xo
Thank you for sharing. I am about to start treatment for a recurance of NHL
@@paulcousino8773 Pleasure to share but not a pleasure to hear about your NHL. Have you been through treatment before? Either way it's wonderful you are seeking information and others experiences to help yourself through this 💜

How are you today?
Thank goodness you were so persistent! Best wishes.
NY Mom Thank you!
The itch was a huge problem for me head to toes for 1 year. I'm still postponing more Dr visits but my Lymphoma is slow growing for now.
Wishing you the very best! ❤️
How did everything turn out?
@interrupted9671 turned out I was lied to. I didn't have central necrosis "thankfully" but my post-opt appt is tomorrow and I want answers. Central necrosis doesn't just disappear.
@interrupted9671 also it was 2.5cm but that's a common mistake. Saying I had central necrosis isn't.

Get Well Soon.. God Bless You
My lump looks like this and I see my doctor tomorrow.
Thank you and wishing you well too
I'm going through my investigations now.
Push for further investigations and perhaps even mention your worry for lymphoma. We must be our own advocates!!
Prayers ... been 7 years !?
thanks for the encouragement! and I'm so glad you are doing so well! God is good :) I'll keep on fighting this thing. looking for a better Dr right now! wish me luck :)
Thank you so much for sharing this. Praying.
Thanks for posting this Chelsea! The upper right side of my neck has been swollen for a while and I'm getting "pins and needles" down my right arm and hand. Because of the pain when I moved my neck to the right, I thought it was a pinched nerve
What was it? As you have described my symptoms which has brought me here :(
Bless you and thank you so much for sharing your story. It's been a few years I pray you are fully recovered. Janice
RabidBearSD what did yours end up being?
RabidBearSD how are you today?
i'm sorry for you god blessyou all people have a problem with cancer you got my prayer ,.
Hope you get better.
YEAH!!
Thank you and blessings to you as well. So glad you are having it looked and truly hope it isn't Hodgkin's. Keep us posted!
How are you doing? Give us an update!
Thanks for sharing. I have similar and its painful sometimes 😢
What happened?
Thank you so much I was not sure what type of doctor to go to.
Thanks for sharing! I'm in the process of finding out whether I have some type of lymphoma or leukemia. The lymph nodes in my neck on the right are swollen among many other symptoms. Your video calmed me down a bit. Thanks!
you ok dear?
Very brave & helpful video, thank you!
thank you sooooo much.
God Bless
Thanks for sharing. I love the calm ur mind bit because I gotta couple bumps going on sadly, kinda scared to go to the docter. Ur in my prayers
I also found that pretty interesting to find out that connection. Thank you for the lovely complement. I am doing okay and thank you for your concern.
Just had a biopsy of a lymph node in the axilla and one in the breast which were found by my mammogram. Scary, to say the least. Prayers to all.
I have a node in my left neck swollen and had a mammogram today so waiting to see how that fares. I'm being referred to an ENT as well... hate this waiting!
I get lymph nodes about once a decade and they are around for a few months and then they go away no health issues so far and I am 59
Your name 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for the information is very good and important than a doctors one
Hello! i just saw your story. But i totally have been googling and freaking out.
are they movable ?
i heard if they move in the neck its due infection vs cancer
Mine was not moveable.
Chelsea Burnell ya thats what i read too. How are you doing now ?
All the best to you I'll pray for you. 🌺🌺
thank you for sharing. Get well!
Craig Weeke how are you now
Thank you for sharing! Ive got huge lymph nodes under my armpit they did ultrasounds, mamogram, bloodtest & a needle biopsy going to do my open biopsy tomorrow Im so worried hope you get better soon thats exactly how I felt I knew something wasnt right
did they find anything
I hate the waiting game between the patient and the doctor. I'm waiting for my core needle biopsy result from my lymph node ride below my left jaw. Hopefully all is well even if I know something's not right.
How r u now
If the swelling feels more like a water balloon? Is that how yours felt? Thanks for sharing.
I am so sorry hope you are doing well
Thank you sooooo much for this!!
Praying for you!
So it’s 3:30 am right now and I’m watching your video. I’m getting an ultrasound today and I’m scared to death! Hope you get better!
Update
I’ve been on Reddit a lot lately over some lumps and bumps I’ve found - first in my groin and now in my neck. I’m very worried but hopeful it’s nothing.
Thank you so much for this.
I was super tired!! Worse than when I had mono. I also experienced severe itching to my lower legs and thighs with no rash.
This was extremely helpful as I'm waiting on my biopsy results after a few months of being bounced around doctors so this really puts me at ease and confirms I'm not crazy! Hope all is well :)
What was the problem are u okay?
What are the result
Where your lumps hard or were they soft to touch?
Thanks
I have them on both sides and now swelling on both sides of my chest
I have not gone in but sick of doctors and other issues that I have!
Was it directly on the collarbone
Thank you for the info. I recently discovered swelling on my right side collar bone and a swelling under my left collar bone. I have no medical insurance. Am hoping my disability goes through as I no longer work due to other health conditions. I just also got out of a relationship with a narcissist so my life is a bit hard right now. My dad has Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and I'M be inherited most of his health issues. So Im worried and waiting for something good to happen so I can go see a Dr. Trying not to freak out. 🙁🙂
Hi there. How are you doing now?
Were you tired ?! Or anything before the lump!?
Hope you doing well and prayers God to get cured quickly
How are you? May I know? Thank you. Speedy recovery
Thank you so much for the info I'm a RN too how are you doing ?
So, I have a decent size lump in the same spot, right clavicle. Just found it 3-4 days ago. Haven't called the Dr. yet. Now I'm kinda freaking out because everything I've seen says it very well could be Lymphoma.
Did you find out what it was?
Thank you for saying they thought you had mono. I haven't seen anyone say anything like that, and that's what my doctor said and my parents wouldn't believe me and wouldn't listen when I got more and when i got a rash. The techs for my ultrasounds were surprised by how many I had. So I don't know what to do :(
how are u now?
thanks for sharing.
Did you get swollen tonsils? or any signs of infection? a cough? Did you get blood work done in the beginning like CBC's? Thank you for sharing..

Xo
Thank you so much and thank you for the response! Will do.
I hope all is well with you and your lymphoma
Azriel Valverde so what happened? Were you ok?
Did you have shortness of breath? Did you have CT scans? I had non Hodgkins lympoma 7 years ago. I'm worried it's back I'm seeing my oncologist next week
I know this video is old,but I have puffiness on both sides..it almost feels like edema, feel like crap..am bring treated for a recurrent UTI (that was a shock as I never get them)Im a Veteran..so Im able to get care, sent a message to my Primary Care Dr,asking for a consult to see Endocrinologist and maybe ENT too..As I have lots of postnasal drip too,I am a mess😂..Im 5 ft 7 /150 lbs,not losing weight…but Appetite is not as strong..Ill be turning 60 in February..so menopause is my life😂..no night sweats, but have had bouts of sweating and sometimes shortness of breath..Im concerned as I used to do triage in Army( combat medic)and then worked in Civilian world..and Then went on to become A licensed Massage therapist,so Im familiar with Lymphatic system..I am do scared right now😢
I really hope you are able to get to the bottom of things. Keep fighting for your health!
