I was diagnosed with Lymphoma last December, and it was found to be Hodgkins Lymphoma in early January, and this was despite not drinking alcohol for over 4 years. I came as a bit of a shock to find that I was stage 4, my neck, chest, pelvis, and into the bone. I had my first chemotherapy treatment on February 14th, and was told I was in remission after 2 cycles, although I didn’t find this out until after 8 cycles. I have one more dose of the final cycle to go and haven’t been too bad as regards side effects. The worst thing of it all is coming down from the steroids, but it’s a small price to pay. My lungs have been effected and I find myself getting breathless when doing small tasks, but I’m sure that will improve after the chemo finishes and I can recover and start getting my fitness back to some degree. Anyhow a big thumbs up 👍🏼 to all you fighting cancer, I wish you all God’s blessings and strength to get through.
@@maikkho4567 Hi there. First of all, sorry to hear that you need cancer treatment. Chemotherapy isn’t pleasant but in my case, not as bad as I thought it would be. Hodgkin’s lymphoma is one of the easiest cancers to treat and not as scary as one might be thinking. I was treated as an outpatient and had the treatment every two weeks during a six month period. Like I said in my post, the only thing that negatively affected me was coming down from the steroids even though I did suffer some hair loss, which is now growing back. Each treatment lasted around four hours and most of the time I would walk the three miles back home from the hospital to retain some fitness. Are you in the UK?
I am currently undergoing chemotherapy for Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I did not have any of the symptoms but on the first day I noticed there was a swelling in my lymph node in the neck, my doctor did not wait and I went through different test and then biopsy and the pet scan and other advanced test and was diagnosed with cancer.
Same here my friend, I am going to be having the last dose next week. It’s a long road and a road we never expected to be walking on. I am currently in remission but know I will need recovery time and fitness time. My lungs are affected as I get breathless doing small tasks. The worse thing for me was coming down off the steroids every 2 weeks. Anyhow I wish you all the very best and God speed in your recovery.
32 yrs ago I had Hodgkins Lymphoma. I just recently was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins . No treatment yet cuz no symptoms to treat, but they took out the affected Mantle Cell lymph node.
Why do 99% of doctors fail to recognise and take seriously the sudden onset of persistent itching enough to cause a patient enough distress to visit a doc? It’s one of the earliest and most common symptoms of HL indicating a change from baseline, like loss of sense of smell during covid, that all patients know about, but docs still go on outdated guidelines wasting time on lotions & immune suppressants😮
ive been having symptoms for a year and a half that started with crazy unexplainable itching for a few months, random night sweats at least one or two a week, a rash that lasted a few months until Dr gave me prednisone, a cough for no reason, random fevers a few times a week and some nausea and stomach pain at times and very bad asthma. The bloods came back normal so said no further resting needed. Since then about 2 months ago I found very large lymph node about an inch or more on underarm that has zero pain and is rock hard and as of last week a new one near it also rock hard. I am waiting to go to the Dr in Australia when i go back there in 3 months as its my original home and get free medical as I feel I wont be able to afford it here in US. I feel I have lymphoma
I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease about 36 years ago. I had chemo and radiation to the chest and neck. I have been in remission for about 35 years. I’m 69 years old. About six weeks ago I developed shortness of breath. My GP thought it was allergies. He prescribed inhalers which didn’t work well. An ultrasound was taken of the Thyroid. It shows a small mass or enlarged lymph node by lower left lobe of Thyroid. A CT scan was taken of my thyroid and chest. It shows the enlarged lymph node which is calcified. And fluid underneath my lungs and a trace in an area of my heart. My GP says it points to Hodgkins Disease again that’s why he said to see an Oncologist. I’m surprised the GP didn’t do further testing. I have an appointment with an Oncologist tomorrow. Very good informative video.
Thank you so much. Oncologist is having me go for a Pet Scan. And she wants the lymph node removed for study and get it away from my trachea. She also wants me to see pulmonary specialist and cardiologist regarding the fluid in chest and heart.
@@HamidChoudhary4917Hello. So far it’s been a mess. A pet scan was taken the end of September. It shows no sigh of cancer. I still have shortness of breath going on three months now. I have seen my GP, Oncologist, Pulmonary Specialist, Cardiologist, Cardio Thoracic Surgeon, and just seen an ENT who is also a surgeon. Not by my own choosing. One doctor recommends me to see another doctor. And I keep going back for follow up appointments without and specific cause on the chronic breathing issue. The ENT surgeon wants me to have a Fine Needle Biopsy done soon done on the nodule in my neck. He says that is not causing my breathing problems. Even though three of the other doctors says it is. I do appreciate your concern asking how I’m doing

Hi my 36 year old partner has this and the doctors have not helped. They say you just live with it like having diabetes. We're beyond frustrated and don't know what to do. She has shortness of breath and is stage 3 but haven't tested marrow. Most likely she's 4
Last Monday I was at my doctors, due to the lump in my neck.Tuesday I was having blood tests, Thursday I had the camera down, Sunday I had a CT scan, and this Sunday I am having an ultrasound and biopsy.
I had a lymphoma lump in my neck that was discovered through a biopsy last October. After that, I underwent a PET CT scan and was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin's lymphoma, nodular sclerosis variant. I underwent four cycles of ABVD chemotherapy as prescribed by my doctor. However, after the fourth cycle, my tumor unfortunately spread to my head, prompting my doctor to discontinue the chemotherapy treatment.Currently, I am undergoing Ayurvedic treatment for my cancer, as the tumor had become extremely painful during my chemotherapy sessions.
Really appreciate for valuable information that you provided in 5 minutes. My wife is diagnosed with HL a month ago and the only sign was a lump on her neck. Luckily she is on early stage with favorable risk. Hopefully with two cycles of chemotherapy and a short term of radiation she will be cancer free🙏
This was a very informative video doc. I’m currently 12 years old and very worried if I have lymphoma or not… I’ve had a swollen painless lymph node on the right side of my neck that has been there for almost 5-6 months and it was basically my only symptom. Went to get my blood tested and they said I had EBV, I’m just so scared that my infection can turn into cancer.

I had a neck ultrasound & was told I had a reactive lymph node I’m tired 80% of the time even after energy drinks and coffee occasionally I feel like I’m short or not getting enough air I’ve had blood work done and I’ve been told normal i have a couple of pea sized lymph nodes in my neck and one that feels like a white grape size it’ll cause pain randomly that radiates up my neck sometimes my skins itchy but the node has not grown in size and I had it checked out back in 2021 I don’t have weight loss and I don’t have night sweats either does this sound like it could be cancer? Bcuz my Dr disregard me and never suggested a biopsy or took my concerns seriously when I asked for a MRI since Cancer does run in my family
Exact same situation but with weight loss + constant dull headache + cough. I've had 3 normal neck ultrasounds, and a recent normal red blood cell count.
Exactly my case they suggested me to do an FNAC test which I've heard isn't that effective to identify lymphoma but I think i will get that biopsy done since i have multiple swollen lymph nodes on my neck one is also a grape sized and had them for over 2 years. I have itchy skin and night sweats but i also didn't lose weight nor my appetite but i do feel tired all the time. Also my mom had rectum cancer.
