    Sam, I had my axillary lymph nodes sliced. No naughtiness discovered. But have decided to have no further treatment as so ancient, and side effects so grim.thank you.

    You reminds me my favourite Cuban Anatomist when I was a Uni student in the 90s. His teaching methodologies was like you - simplistic approach

    Hi Sam, you need to design and get manufactured a Sam Webster anatomical model that allows you to use clingfilm, sugar paper, playdough and pipe cleaners etc in one model.

    Dear Dr. Webster, Highly appreciate your expertise and content. You generally describe some clinical significance of related anatomy. You have earlier mentioned that you also teach residents and surgeons. Would it be possible to share those teachings and make videos focussed on musculoskeletal clinical anatomy? Sincerely

    I have a questions! Which comes first - cancer in the body, which then gets carried to the lymph on its routine check, that then spreads to the breast area? Or does the cancer start in the breast and make its way over to the lymph? Also, how often does the lymph take the fluid from the muscles to check/clean it? And what does it do with any waste it finds? Also, in my yoga class, we massage the area to "flush" the lymph, does that actually work? 😅im so mind blown by the human body.

    Is it normal to feel a small pea size lymph node?

  • @martinqigong
    @martinqigong ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I don't understand exactly how the lymph goes back in the veins. The nodes are connected to the veins. Is that it ? Thank you

    • @SamWebster
      @SamWebster  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There are small lymphatic vessels that carry lymph from tissues to lymph nodes, and from lymph nodes to other lymph nodes, and then to the subclavian veins near where the internal jugular vein joins it.

    Does left side have to work harder for lymph flow as it is responsible for lower limbs x 2?

    I understand that lymph fluid also collects cells that are too big to pass into the capillaries. Is that correct? I teach lymph fluid as the big trash pick up day on our curb. Don't want to spread wrong info!

    • @Max-fh7ij
      @Max-fh7ij ปีที่แล้ว

      Not entire cells, but cell parts after apoptosis

    • @SamWebster
      @SamWebster  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's the idea. Capillaries allow only small molecules (e.g. water, glucose, dissolved gases) to pass in and out but lymphatic vessels have valves anchored to the surrounding tissue that let fluid and larger structures pass in. Lymph nodes contain lymphocytes, and those larger particles can be checked over by the immune system.
