    It's hard to believe that the LH cars are 30 years old as of this posting. They were such a huge leap for Chrysler at the time (and some of the last true Chryslers, not being Mercedes or Fiat chassis) and look better than most cars on the road today. I miss decent looking cars.

    • @rskurtzer

      Yeah I think the K car is really the last true Chrysler.
      The LH were from AMC and Renault just like the Jeep Grand Cherokee. It shared basically no design language with any of Chrysler’s cars which is why they were so radical at the time compared to… say… the Plymouth Acclaim or the Chrysler Fifth Avenue.

    Still a beautiful car. There's just something about cars that came out in the early 90s that still look so good to this day. The Vision undersold compared to the Intrepid it was based on, probably because it was nothing more than a higher priced rebadging of that car. Similar to the way Mercury was with Ford.

    MW seemed to really praise this car back in the day! I've never had the chance to spend time with one of these cars but I did see them pretty often from about 1996 to 2010, then they sharply declined in sightings along with other first gen LH cars. Was the Vision more reliable than the Dodge and Chrysler LH offerings?

    • @FuckTrumpFuckYouIfYouVoted4Him
      @FuckTrumpFuckYouIfYouVoted4Him ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Vision isn't any more or less reliable than it's sister cars. These cars were actually just as reliable as any other V6 powered large front wheel drive cars back in the day. The reason why you don't see many now is because they are challenging to work on thanks to the unusual engine layout and they have poor resale value which means the slightest little parking lot ding will total the car and send it to the scrap yard in perfectly good safe running condition.

      AutoStick doesn't do anything more than manually selecting the gears with a PRND21 shifter can. It just makes it easier I guess lol I'd say a non beneficial gimmick and a sales tactic at best. But ever since then we have seen a rise in slap shifters. They're useless. If people want to shift they should man up and buy a manual. And these same people then complain about the automatics they shift manually being unreliable lol

  • @regalgs51

    This was the first mainstream, affordable vehicle to offer a “manumatic” (which Chrysler called Autostick) transmission. I remember reading somewhere that Porsche and I believe Acura offered a manumatic transmission but of course those were much more expensive, rarer vehicles at the time which is why this vehicle truly was the first mainstream vehicle to offer it. I also vaguely remember reading an article that advertised how you could downshift at lower speeds in order to slow the car down instead of using the brakes (thereby extending the life of your brakes) but then later I heard that one should NOT downshift to slow down because it was so hard on the transmission and engine and they were already unreliable and prone to failure!
