Have to disagree, it's a tapered wall. It's .356" at the base and .336" at the mouth.

You are correct. But to all intense and purpose you can treat then as straight walled in so far that there is no shoulder to bump and they head space on the case mouth etc. just like a straight walled round. They also do not seem to grow and need trimming like a bottle neck cartridge does. The slight taper is there to ease extraction as there ain't much pop in this round to cycle the action.

how many times can you use a case when loading .30 carbine??

Them being straight walled, they last quite a while . I have had more than a dozen loads out of them. The primer pockets then get sloppy after that and need tightening up with a punch and a ball bearing.

    Good fun Scuba1!
Been using Berry's & H110 for years in my M1 Carbines, a most excellent combination for range fodder/fun!

They do a number on pests around the house as well. The better half likes shooting that old M1 Carbine as well as it has next to no recoil. And its cheap to feed. During the east shortage I went to plinking with the M1 instead of using 22lr

what would be a good starting load for w680 and 130gr cast

I would stay away from cast bullets as they gum up the gas system and that ta keys some time to put right again and 130 is a tad heavy for it as well unless you are not using an M1 carbine

I was using W296 in carbine. For some reason with manual recommended 14 H110 the cases looked really blown out and expanded more than with the Win powder or factory loads. Headspace and barrel is not and issue in this case. Did not cause any problems, it just looked hot on the fired cases. I got 2400 but have not used that in carbine. Loads were with either 110 RN or SP.

I use Redding sizing wax all cases . And trim all to 1.280 . A slight flare to the mouth and a slight taper crimp 14.5 gr of H 110 works Great 👍

I tried a few powders but keep coming back to H110 for the 3 carbine. It just plain works and i am done sperimentin with it.
