The scene where the bikers wisper in the library is an ongoing joke with me and my daughter (who also loves southpark)…whenever someone tells someone to be quiet we always look at each other and make the noise silently😂🤣
I live in Daytona and we have two bike fests here each year. I'm sure many of the residents that live near the gatherings would love this episode... and agree with Cartman.
This is one of the most brilliant episodes. When people say, “you couldn’t say stuff like that today!” They’re missing the point that THIS is how you do it. Being “edgy” isn’t about saying certain words, it’s about nuanced satire like this.
Now tell me how you do “birthing people” since democrats want people to stop saying “mother” it’s not about “nuance” it’s about actually language police..
It’s been the definition for a long time. 40 years ago in school I called dipshits “fags” and I’ve never had an issue with gay people. We didn’t like how the word was used in the 50/60s so we repurposed it. It stands strong.
At the time this episode came out. There was a bill going through congress. The shepard and byrd hate crime bill. In this bill in the earliest formats, just by saying bad words it was going to be a crime. Most of these great older episodes have a deep meaning behind them. Points out a lot of hyprocracies we have as a society.
You two may be too young to know this, but Emmanuel Lewis played the character Webster in the '80s. That's why he's associated with the dictionary in the South Park universe.
As a kid I grew up across the street from a corner bar. Come closing time at 2:00 in the morning people will go out start up their motorcycles and rev their engine for about 5 minutes LOUDLY. This was in the summer They didn't need to warm their engines up They just read them to make noise because they thought that was cool.
Ile say this over and over again, you know damn well the writers had a field day with this episode 😂 I can only imagine how many ribs, jawbones and throats were hurting after they came out of the writers room lol
I immediately thought of this episode the other night when I was trying to order food at a drive thru speaker and the lady couldn't hear me at all because of the a-hole motorcyclists going down the road 😂 I was like, "Dude! It is midnight! Stop revving your engines!" 😂
There's a Butters-centric episode that you owe it to yourself to see.. Season 20 Episode 4 "Wieners Out" ... made so many years ago but still so relevant and absolutely hillarious...
Theres definitely a tension between cruiser type riders and sports riders, ive heard lots of talk of "be a man and get a harley," or "if you ride a harley you might be too gay to function" lmao at the end of the day riders are riders, its a fun time and most of us like to go fast or just hear that engine, all that said I find any rider excessively and needlessly revving their engines to redline to be completely annoying! Been on dirt bikes for many years and this last year i got myself a 1999 zx6r! maybe one day when im a old fk i wouldnt mind a harley or indian scout the thrill of the powerful high revving sport bike is breathtaking but i do love that deep bass of a 1200 sportster engine that you feel in your chest
They should do an episode like this about people who drive with super loud music with the bass set to tremor levels. edit: Better yet, people who shoot of fireworks until 2 in the morning on New Year's Eve or Independence Day. Really, some of us have *jobs* and *lives* during the day.
@DosCavzos Emmanuel Lewis played Webster on the show Webster. He had the same growth condition as Gary Coleman so he looked like a child even in his 30s
As a harley davidson owner myself. This episode ticks a few nerves in me but i also think this episode perfectly makes fun of biker gangs ignorant, annoying, and rude behavior that makes regular riders like myself look bad
I own my Harley because I love riding. I wear leathers because if I were to ever crash out I'd rather not get bad road rash. There's literally next to no motorcycle gangs like this anymore. This episode is stupid.
When this episode came out I 100% agreed with the message and it matched how I used the word. But it’s one of very few episodes where I think the message hasn’t aged well. 20 years ago I heard (and said) this word all the time, but I stopped saying it many years ago. And I don’t remember the last time I heard anyone using it who didn’t also use lots of other slurs.
Sorry we have been annoying you guys with Imaginationland requests, you picked an even BETTER episode. OMG, I'm on a road trip from Vegas to Phoenix to scout for Spring Training baseball in March. Driving on 93 south from Kingman AZ to Scottsdale, AZ there are literally HUNDREDS of bikers and about a half dozen rural biker bars in the middle of the nowhere. All good safe drivers but when I saw about 100 at the gas station talking to each other I just laughed and when I pulled out I could NOT help myself went (to myself with the windows rolled up): "BRRMMMMBRAA BRRAAAA BRAAABRRRMMMMMMM BA PA BA PA"
this happened in the 90s with black people and the N word. some liked the word and said it has a new meaning. and wanted to call each other the N word and use it in songs. when you read it ,it sounds F up .

Thats hilarious 😂.
We are both going to hail for the imaginary thoughts we put in people's heads!
I thought you were gonna say you and your daughter say something like "be quiet fag!" But still, you two are awesome 😅
I banged your daughter.

The Webster Joke flew over everyone💀🤣

@@macdaddy1376 you're a towel.
@macdaddy1376, or it's because the majority of people who watch South Park are too young to know who Emmanuel Lewis was.
@@macdaddy1376 how? It's a funny reference
@@macdaddy1376 I agree. It's pretty stale.
8:10 Emmanuel Lewis starred in a show called Webster. The joke is that he is in charge of the dictionary because it's websters dictionary.
Ha ha, I was coming to post this!

@@VictorLugosi Nah, motorcycles are wicked annoying. If your car made that much noise, you'd get pulled over. Good emoji-pun though. 👍
It's Emmanuel Lewis because he was Webster on TV. Like in Webster's dictionary lol
Plus, Emmanuel Lewis did hang around with Michael Jackson a lot back in the day.
@rockaustin5130 I think they were making fun of Webster's dictionary....

You’re a dunce

Honestly, back then it was supposedly not possible to say stuff like this on tv either. They simply decided to do it, in a smart and funny way
True - “funny before shock”
Butters' head fantasy about being a fat biker is too precious! 😂
That is the true meaning of the word lol. Love this episode.

This was, honest to god. . .on of their greatest episodes

Yess been waiting for this one. Also “Pinewood Derby” is a banger of an episode too
Butters would be the one to be bike-curious 😂
He's just confused ;)
Kacee's glasses on top of the head looked like a halo at first. :D
Biker Butters is another mini-game in the Butters pinball video game. You guys would love it, if you like pinball.
A million little fibers!
I make that noise to my dog when she gets sassy or when I get in bed and she jumps off of it, uhhh get back here! Brurubrub. My feet are cold 😂.
This is probably my favorite episode post 2010
Anyone who drives a car with an unnecessarily loud muffler also fits this definition.
Or outward facing bass speakers.
Or no muffler
Or super bright led lights. Or swangas.
At least you guys TRY to keep the stuff where so many other reactors just play it safe because they're too lazy to go through it once to try.

Avoid pot holes on a motorcycle is the lesson to be learnt there. So... actually look at the road.

I love how the message of the episode is to not refer to gay people as the f word, but to re-direct it elsewhere.
also love the Jim Rome moment in this episode
