I'm an atheist, and I mean no disrespect, but there was always a connective quality to Relient K that allows them to connect to people of any audience. I read somewhere of a quote, that the key to making good Christian music, was making music that doesn't innately seem to disregard other peoples. I will always love Relient K.
I know this is a 2 year old comment but I feel exactly the same way. I found Relient K as a teen listening to an online radio called idobi radio and just instantly fell in love with them. I've always been an atheist, although I have to admit that as a teen I was way more open-minded about religions than I am now. Coming out as LGBTQ+ made me even more critical about the Christian pop punk bands I used to like growing up, but Relient K always stuck with me even now after 20 years and I can't think of anything negative about their lyrics.
I am 19 years old and I heard this song from a GameCube game. To this day in 2014 I still know word for word verbatim. This song got me through middle school, high school and now college. Thank you Relient K
I love how they sing such positive Christian songs, but they're not at all boring. I think they do a lot of good for young Christians especially. They are awesome!
Reminds me of a good friend from high school. Dunno where she is now, more than 15 years later, but I hope she's listening to this song reflecting on the great times we had together. Our friendship got us through a lot. I miss you Amanda!!! May you be well 💕
I remember hearing this song/seeing this video many many years ago (no later than mid 2005) and not thinking about it again....until my friend put this album on in her car in 2011. That was a fun surprise. It was so weird to hear it again after so long, but I'm glad to have rediscovered it.
I'll never forget the first time heard this song 10 years ago... I was 16 and at church camp. Since then, I've been to 3 Relient K concerts. I don't go anymore cus I feel too old. :D
hahaha this was the song that made Relient K my favorite band when I heard it a few years ago haha and even though they've changed members and style a lot they still rock to me and remain my favorite band of all time. I'm looking forward to their new stuff and Matt T.'s solo album!
Wow I'll never forget when my brother showed me this song 9 or 10 years ago. Makes me miss my childhood. Now he's out of college and has a job and I'm about to go to college. Oh, how time flies...........
I think we're going somewhere. We're on to something good here. Out of mind, out of state. Trying to keep my head on straight. I think we're going somewhere. We're on to something good here. Don't worry friend, there's nothing wrong with that. I found your scripture references useful and creatively relative. So you were in the right. God should be given glory in any way and this was extremely appropriate. God Bless
I was flipping channels one day back in 2000 something and caught this video on christian "MTV" of sorts, I was a huge Blink 182 fan, come to find out they were on tour with Blink at the time. Whoever caught that concert, I envy you. Always makes me want to skate.
So last year my English teacher told us to do this mini project about what song represent what our mindset/goals are for 2020. I chose this song. And I’m still pressing on 9 months later :))))
I heard this when I was ten while playing a game and I'd sing the chorus because it was the only bit I remembered. Finding the name of a song has never been so sweet
Relient K, if you see this, keep up the good work. Your music keeps me going. My life's been pretty tough lately, some times I think of suicide, and i'm always beating myself up. You guys mean so much to me. I mean, I got the whole God thing before I heard you guys, but it just has been making more sense then all the other crap. You guys are amazing!!! I don't care what some people say about the God stuff. Stay the way you are. Keep God in everything!! I love you!!!
There is not a single song that does not somehow relate to another song by another band in some way. There are only so many ways one can generate a tune in a certain key.
back in 2002 me and my friend went to lifest in oshkosh wisconsin, after relient k's concert we got in line for their autograph we were the last 2 to get in andget their autograph matt thiessen and dave douglas were the nicest members in the band , matt t, matt h, brian and dave, i miss the good old days :(
I'm an atheist, and I mean no disrespect, but there was always a connective quality to Relient K that allows them to connect to people of any audience. I read somewhere of a quote, that the key to making good Christian music, was making music that doesn't innately seem to disregard other peoples. I will always love Relient K.
I was technically a Christian as a kid but I had no idea what that meant.
Relient K Still rocks in 2024. I love this band.
And as an adult I find myself pressing on and heading back toward god, so I'll thank whoever is responsible for that!
Are you still an atheist?
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me
I know this is a 2 year old comment but I feel exactly the same way. I found Relient K as a teen listening to an online radio called idobi radio and just instantly fell in love with them. The late 1990s and early 2000s were truly great times
You can say that again. No Facebook or tiktok
I miss it. A lot.
Wasn’t even alive yet and it makes me have nostalgia
Hell yeah it was
Fuck yes! Throw in some nofx, dash with penny wise and get on a skateboard, you can barely ride. There it is kids.

I am 19 years old and I heard this song from a GameCube game. To this day in 2014 I still know word for word verbatim. This song got me through middle school, high school and now college. Thank you Relient K

Always come running back to these old songs from middle school.
matt thiessen looks so young! Love them and their new album.
I love how they sing such positive Christian songs, but they're not at all boring. I think they do a lot of good for young Christians especially. They are awesome!
Still listening in 2019 ❤ we're definitely on to something good here 💪
For the longest time, I only heard this song on a toy guitar. Years later, I still think about it, which is why I'm here now. It's still great
Same here
Relient K is still going strong, even though their style has changed significantly. They will always be my favorite band of all time!
Why can't music like this come out today? And why can't it get popular again?
This needs to be brought back in 2024
Really wish music like this would come back in 2024
Heard this song on Myspace back in 2005 or so.. I've been a fan ever since!

Aahhh! I need the pop/punk glory days to make a come back
Reminds me of a good friend from high school. Dunno where she is now, more than 15 years later, but I hope she's listening to this song reflecting on the great times we had together. Our friendship got us through a lot. I miss you Amanda!!! May you be well 💕

This song got me through a really tough time in my life. After all these years...I keep coming back to it, but as a reminder of how far I've come. ❤
It's crazy how they have changed their sound over the years and still sound good doing it
"Can i have some water?"
"no sorry its not in budget"
lol
I remember hearing this song/seeing this video many many years ago (no later than mid 2005) and not thinking about it again....until my friend put this album on in her car in 2011. That was a fun surprise. It was so weird to hear it again after so long, but I'm glad to have rediscovered it.
This band formed in 1998, the year I was born and yet they are still around today... That shows how amazing they are.
God is crying up in heaven that this is what he has to listen to in all his omniscient glory as he surveys humanity instead of hard rock.
Heard this song on What's New Scooby doo! Great song!
that's why im here, was just watching with my daughter
That's how I found it!
still an absolute banger in 2022
Life was so simple when these were the records I was playing

How could I forget about my favorite band growing up! Definitely binge listening this morning.

It's fun to watch the awkward people dancing in the background. Especially pay attention to the guy in the Iverson jersey.
Only good thing that I loved about my highschool is that Matt and I graduated from the same highschool
É o marcelão

Yo, your boys called the fanny pack before every one else. Love this band.
The fact that they're wearing fanny packs makes the video that much better.
