I got a Fukien Tea on clearance at walmart for $7.00. They hadn't watered it for a while and it was dying. I put it in the cart and watered it from my drinking cup. It bounced back beautifully after a repotting/root pruning/leaf and branch pruning/wiring. I did all of that at the same time. Well worth the investment.
I’m new to this, and this may be a silly question, but aren’t those trees frost hardy ? Just wondering because you said you would protect it from any frost. I’m planning on doing this with a young tree from the forest. Up here in northern Canada those grow like weed right beside the highways.
They are very strong, but when just styled (and placed in a small pot) I do like to keep them in an unheated greenhouse just to keep the lowest points at night a bit higher. That's all!
Do you mean root the cuttings? It's a fairly easy process for most species of tree, however i don't really know if pine grow too well from cuttings. We don't feel guilty cutting much off the tree . Usually this first step is the most extreme in the way of pruning. After that it's pretty much lite maintenance it will grow back and in most cases pruning will promote even more growth. 👍
@@andrewdobosz3682 Thanks for the sharing. I mean the branches with nice foliage that was cut during pruning… it feels like cutting away a good living part of the plant~

Absolutely! Go for it
How will the inverse taper on this tree develop future on?
Well, thats hard to get rid of really. A sacrificial lower branch would help.

Bone sigh
How do we manage the plant cut out from trimming? There is this guilt to cut away so much of life? 🫠
