I just bought your two books about flowers .... love it so much, it is so clear and easy to follow, I enjoy the part about your needles ... Thank you for your knowledge ... love those books so much ... Your'e the one !
I would love to see you do a crazy patch something. It would be fun to sew along with you! Thank you for sharing the marking trick. I had not seen that before. As always your stitches are perfection. 💕
For me, I like watching you stitch longer, because I’m trying to see and understand the stitch and rhythm of the stitch. I so enjoy your stories. Thank you for sharing your time and talents!!❤
I have a needle story, as well. I ran a big needle into my toe. The point of the needle was stuck in the carpet so I actually ran the eye into the side of my big toe. I pulled it out, no problem. That is, there was no problem until I started feeling ill and my toe became very sore. The eye of the needle had actually split in two and half of the eye had remained in my toe and I had to have an orthopedic surgeon take me to the operating room to remove it!! I no longer have that carpet in my sewing room!
Good morning, I just came across your videos and love your style. I’ve bought your book on kindle as the paperback wasn’t available, but it seems to work seamlessly on the kindle (which some project books don’t) so I’m over the moon. I’ve come to stitching late in life, but am thoroughly enjoying the artistic side of it. I know my maternal grandmother was gifted at sewing and in researching needles and trying out a few I came to the same conclusions about my favourite needles as you do in your book. If I can use a milliners needle I will, it feels so natural to me. I can’t wait to read and try more from your book and watching and listening in your video is super helpful. Thank you.
Great video, you seem more relaxed. Wheatear thanks for that so easy the way you teach it. I learnt so much in this video. As I do embroidery in bed I am forever getting stabbed in the backside
Thank you Jennifer as always for your video. I love sitting with you in your beautiful garden and enjoying a stitch in. Thank you for the tip on the wheat stitch, it helps so much to see some stitches demonstrated rather than a diagram. I have seen many a needle injury in A and E that obviously are on the more severe side so I am with you on the pin cushion front. Who knew stitching could be a dangerous pastime😂😂 I hope the issue with the book are soon resolved for the folks in South Africa, it must be so frustrating,I know waiting for the UK launch till the end of July was bad enough. Pre order was definitely the way to go. See you at your table the next time.
Great idea to use patchwork pattern outlines to follow with embroidery, makes a series of frames. You could tack the piece onto a larger piece of muslin fabric and /or cut out the fabric behind where you are stitching. It's called floating. I tack small pieces on for use in a hoop. There is an embroiders tape too I think but tacking holds it. My Mom used to say finished and kla so happy memory x
Today I felt very special. My heart raced when I heard it even if no one knows. I love watching your video's and will keep watching await the next video too. Soon my own special project will start. Thank you for lessons I was watching and listening eagerly and learning. I have a picked a car so it will be mine soon
Hi Jennifer. "Goeie genade, wat 'n lekker verrassing" when one of your TH-cam videos crossed my TH-cam feed. At the moment I live in Kloof, KZN, moved here from Gauteng just over a year ago. I have been embroidering since I was 10 years old hahahaha I am turning 76 soon, very soon 🤭🤭. but as far as I am concerned I am sweet 16 and never been kissed 😂😂. I am such a multi crafter . . . there are never enough hours in a day for everything I create. I intend to live until I am 124 😂😂, hopefully that enough time. I spent about 3 years creating journals but once embroidery is in your blood it keeps drawing you in. I was researching crazy patchwork embroidery when you appeared. Thanks for such a lovely channel. ❣❣❣
Goeie more, Marina We lived in Umhlanga for many years before immigrating to Oz! I intend to live a long life too….. I absolutely love crazy quilting - I might start a new crazy project at the end of September. I am currently spring cleaning myself of all my unfinished projects. Lekker kuier! 🐦⬛🪡🐦⬛🪡
Hi! Hubby watching rugby now and l am stitching with earphones. Not a rugby fan. Would rather stitch and listen to you😂 love your designing. Am also trying to catch up on my old UFO's. Hugs from South Africa.
Hi Jenny - I am always happy to see you post a new video. I learn something new in each video. You are the best teacher. I love the piece you are stitching on. It’s so pretty. See ya next time. 💕🧵
Just watched you for the first time……love how you present…..and love that you show how to stitch…..makes a complicated stitch seem easier somehow …….I also dropped needles ages ago and got three buried in my big toe 🤦♀️…..had to have them cut out….it was the first time for the medical staff at the hospital …..NOW I too make use of my pincushion. Have just sent for your book Jennifer…….am excited !!!
Jennifer, I have your new book! Love-love it! What a great way to make fans!!! I've never seen that before, but will make one right away so I can try it on my next project. Thank you for sharing. Have a blessed sabbath 🌈💚🙏💚🌈
It is lovely for you that your book has sold out, but I feel bad that South African embroiders are still waiting. What a needle story! I know a quilter who swallowed one and needed abdominal surgery! Pin cushions are a must.
I had the unfortunate pleasure of sitting on a needle a few weeks ago. I did manage to pull it out of the top of my thigh but it very sore and not a enjoyable experience 😂
@@jenniferclouston7545 I’ve just tried it and it’s so simple..unlike trying to do the original stitch. Thank you Jenny for all your very helpful hints and tips. X
Jenny, what is the size of hexagons you are using for this project? Looks like a 1-1/2 inch size. If my count is correct , you are using 7 rows of 5 hexagons? Thank you for your wonderful project suggestions.
Jenny I have a question. My daughter in law wants me to put some embroidery on a knit hat for my granddaughter. It is double thick of knit fabric. Should I use a stabilizer also?
Hi Jenny, I stumbled across a video of yours. Thoroughly enjoyed it, as well as all the well known expressions I hear as you go along. I am from South Africa. I love that you show us how to do the stitch! I find it much easier to see it being done than trying to figure it out from a diagram. Thank You!
It’s a pleasure!

Love the idea of the Baptist fan stitched.
Finally got your new book here in the UK. It’s great. Here’s hoping South African stitchers don’t have to wait too much longer for their copies.
Thank you, Lynn. So pleased that you like it. Yes, I hope South Africa gets it soon.

Did you use old flannel shirts? Love the colors and the fabric looks so old and warn and soft. 👍
Susan, they are yarn dyed Japanese fabrics which are so lovely so work with. But flannel shirts will work so well.

Absolutely Love your tiny pin cusion! Do you sell them or can you tell us where you purchased it?
Hi Susan,
The pincushion is a vintage Japanese bird feeder that I turned into a pincushion. I will have to check and see if I have any left! 🪡🐦⬛🪡🐦⬛

Jenny I have a question. My daughter in law wants me to put some embroidery on a knit hat for my granddaughter. It is double thick of knit fabric. Should I use a stabilizer also?
No, I think the double knitting will be fine without stabiliser.

Hello and welcome!
I do not put glue on my embroidery. I am using a little water to remove the water soluble marking pen from my fabric.
