  • I bought a salvage 2006 Range Rover Sport for $1500 and got it back on the road! Now, it's time to tackle some long deferred maintenance: the differentials and the transfer case! Hopefully we don't find any nasty surprises...
    Shortcuts:
    0:00 - Intro
    0:51 - Rear Differential
    6:12 - Front Differential
    13:44 - Let's talk about diff service
    14:38 - Transfer Case
Always make sure to research fluid type, fluid volume, and torque specs for your specific vehicle before doing this type of job!

Can't wait to see what you've got in store for the next video! Thanks.

Your vid is so helpful! I’m going to be doing mine soon. That’s shocking how little fluid was in that front diff, I’ll see what mine has in store for me. (I am just wondering, my sport makes a slight humming sound when reaching a speed of 40mph and then the humming goes away around 50mph and only hums when your on the gas at those speeds. I’m assuming it’s possible that’s it’s low on fluid in trans or diff, and it’s done it sense I’ve owned the car, but what are your thoughts, does yours do that?) Again your vids so vary helpful! I don’t know what you got in store for the next video… but hopefully it’s nothing you can’t handle. Keep it up!

This truck has a very slight whine between 68 and 73 when on the gas. It was louder before, but we've also done other jobs that might have contributed to making it quieter (they'll be covered in upcoming videos). Either way it's not a bad idea to service your diffs!

We still need to figure out what's going on, but it's a little concerning!
