I love this channel. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy MORR, Fabrats, Chad's Fab, Rudy's Channel & Tom Toms now... but, if all of them come out with a new video at the same time, I'm watching a Rory Irish and crew adventure first 🤙👊

I’m 70 years old and have been around vehicles since I could walk. Family and friends working on vehicles, working in service stations and dealerships and being in trucking but I’ve never seen a Hillbilly Alternator Tester like that. There were times during the trail run of this video that I was leaning sideways because I didn't want to go slideways. I also grew to not really like driving through the brush mostly because you couldn't see the trail edge, not knowing if there was a washout hiding in the brush.

Remove the plug on the #1 cylinder The crank shaft was turned by hand until the piston was almost TDC, loosen the distributor & removing the Cap then we rotate the unit until the points sparked. Button it up and voila, the timing was set. I miss those days, my 1962 Chevy C60, mine had an L6 230 for light duty cargo hauls from the farm

The Ol' Scrambled Scrambler is going down the road,
I always liked them and wanted one growing up in the 80s,
I ended up buying a used
84' Wagoneer with a select trac transfer case in 89' after graduation, the 4 wheel drive was on vacuum I guess, but the transfer case was old school lever into low, the engine was a 2.4 v-6, always wanted to soop it up but never did. I did install a 4" Rancho lift for wheeling and hunting.
it was Cherokee size, solid dark brown, no paneling design down the side like most wagoneers do,
    Enjoyed the fixes and recoverys.
You guys make the day a little more tolerable. ❤❤

You have a pretty strong handle on the dig principle. You explained it to a customer who was driving his own vehicle out as you ran the winch. "Trust me, you'll see what I'm talking about" you told the guy. Next thing we hear him hooting all kinds of excited and having fun as his truck is doing a rear dig so beautifully. "How bout that"? It's another excellent video of legit how things really happen content. My two favorite parts were when Rory was down by the truck being recovered, and the sound went out, and it just said “caption” on the screen, and when he knew the jeep was going to slide off the trail.

Easy out... easy in 🙂 .... New Jeep looks pretty spiffy 🙂 although sounds like the paint took a little torture on the recovery 🥲 ... Thanks for sharing

Some of these people seem to get the least capable vehicles in the worst/weirdest spots. It's almost like a hidden talent at this point.

Remember power timing by the seat and ears. Would set timing for fuel just out of spark knock range and dragging starter during hot start and flooring it to feel the power from the seat timing would be perfect for power instead of the weak emissions sticker timing.

Rory should charge double for the recovery of that Ram pickup. Going to need the extra cash for a cut and polish on the new LJ (it needs a name please)! The noise of the branches scraping down the sides and top of the jeep were hard to listen to.

Pretty exciting alternator test rig you have there. Most creative. Some people will drive anything anywhere. That was a tight one.
