I've been doing this so long that we had a glass with multi-color bands for years that we'd put water to the line. Then we set it in the middle of the floor and my wife would tell me when it was level. Now we have a motorhome with auto-leveling system but I still think of the class every time we park.
Combined with the Anderson this is by far the easiest, quickest, and can be done by one person without even getting out of truck. Even with auto level system you want to get close if you can. This is just simple. Great job.
This is a 5 Star way of leveling your trailer. This is the way I level my trailer. I can level my trailer in less time than it took to watch this video. One thing the Level Mate Pro does that he did not mention is, when your trailer is more than 4 inches out of level it will flash at you.
That would be a good reason to turn it off while driving...I have yet to find a site that didn't require the trailer moving at odd angles. (Then again...I also like to camp in places where 'level' is a fantasy only achieved with a large number of blocks and jackstands...)

Very cool leveler if you have a Smart Phone. I purchased an RV Easy Level for about $30.00. It has 4 legs & uses green lights for level & red lights for unlevel. I set it on the floor and my wife watches through the screen door (with a walkie talkie) to communicate the best positioning. I use the square waffles to level L to R as needed. Then I use metal ratcheting tire stabilizers between the tires. I have had my trailer walk on me once, so the stabilizers completely immobilize wheel movement. Then I level the F & R. A little more time, but very safe.
We have been using these levelers on our 5th wheel for 4 years. I added a little item to mine. In the large curved part I drilled a parachute cord size hole in the center of the largest recess. I put a 2 ft length of cord through the hole with a knot on each end. This allows the cord to be pulled out on either side. Then I drilled a similar hole in both sides of the chock part. The cord is used when we are removing the levelers. The person pulling out the chock can pull the cord and not need to get your fingers close to the tire. then when I reverse the cords on the leveler part are pulled out as well. I haven't tried this yet, but, it might be possible to place a stake and tie the chocks to the stake with a bungee cord so that pressure is removed, the chock will pull out and then reverse and a cord could pull out the leveler part. This would be useful on a dual axle trailer by a single person.
Well, I can see why people do this, but to me it's a bit overkill and, at least for us - probably a waste of money... I bought a .50c 4ft level from a garage sale that I put on my rear bumper to get a completely level side/side every time we park - it's exactly 4ft long, and my bumper is exactly 8ft. Which means it's super easy, if it's 1.5" out over 4ft that means the full length between axles is exactly 3" out, meaning 2 2x6's to level perfectly. Completely free. Done. Once that is done I take the level and run it along the frame while someone simply uses the power jack to take that to level, and you're perfect on all 4 corners. Takes like 3 mins total. It does take 2 people though, that is the one downside. But saves a ton of $$, and actually (now that we're good at it) - takes NO MORE TIME than doing the way in this video
We chose the RV Level 4 from madebyjoe . It uses 5v usb power that most trailers have now unlike the batteries you need for level mate pro. It's also a bit cheaper.
We plan ordering a set of these for our camper along with the remote leveling indicator unit. Anything that makes set up easier is a no brainer in my book. We are also purchasing the propane monitor system. Because we live in Northern Michigan, we use a lot of propane in the spring and late fall. There is nothing worse than running out of propane.
Another thing that speeds up setup if you like to stabilize the RV is the JT Strong Arm stabilizers. They are very effective and one of the fastest after they are installed and take up no space for storage.
So I've had these red things since I bought my RV, but didn't use the quite correctly. Tonight I did after this video - thank you so much and how stupid am I? Geez. This was GREAT!

I have not had any luck with the level mate pro. I am going to give it one more try but I have calibrated it twice but both times I have then used it to level during my next camping trip it has been WAY off. Not even close. Going to try a new battery in it and see if that works.

I gave mine away because the sensor is not sensitive enough. Sometimes it goes over; sometimes it does not move. I was using it with Andersen levelers on dual axle trailer. They need to improve it.
What if you don’t have a way to move a fifth wheel and its canted at a side angle. I ordered the kits with those blocks a pair of heavy duty scissor jacks and 4 spin mount jacks for stability but I wasn’t here when it was delivered and it’ll be a while till I can level it myself. I guess I could hire someone to reposition it but after looking underneath it and seeing what I got coming I think I could do it without having a truck for it yet.

Totally agree, they should give the option of hard wiring it. You can buy an adaptor that will supply the correct voltage from your 12v system instead of using disposable batteries.
Question. I know your not supposed to lift your RV with the “Stabilizer Jacks” that are usually standard on smaller trailers etc these days but can those jacks safely support the weight of the trailer if you lifted it to level with a bottle jack for example? Or are they so light duty that all they can do s brace the trailer against movement? Thanks
That would depend on the capacity of the scissor jacks. But yes, you should be fine. Ive been doing that for 7yrs now, with my 10,000lb 20yr old H.Rambler.
Hey, thanks Jared. Wondering if when you mount the sensor module it needs to have any particular orientation; i.e., should it be mounted on a wall parallel to the length of the RV or parallel to the width of the RV? What about a diagonal wall?

Hi, we also use the Anderson levelers and love them. However, one of our favorite camping spots requires us to raise one side higher than 6". What do you recommend for that? It's usually around 8-9".
Great question. We have in the past used our LevelMatePRO to find the best position to start with leveling to get us closer to what the Anderson levelers can do. The other thing we have done is use a shovel to dig out on the high side where the tires will be sitting. We have had to do that a few times and don’t prefer it but we fill the hole after we pull out when we leave. The other thought I’ve had is using lumber under the Andersen levelers but I don’t think that would work all that well and probably side right off. I hope these ideas help.
Lisa...if you are camping on dirt or sand, keep a small shovel in your rig. Rather than raise one side of your trailer, dig holes in the dirt or sand for the tires on the opposite side that needs to be raised, and put your tires in the hole. You still may need to drive up on blocks on one side, but you'll need less of them. I find it easier to drive into a hole rather than raise one side up.
I level my trailer similar to you too. Side to side then front to back. The only difference is I use a bubble level instead of Level Mate Pro. Still pretty fast with those Andersen wheel levelers.
Remember to level the vehicle also or people will see gow crooked you are. Plus you dont want to twist your hitch. Also grease your ball you don't want it to get stiff driving down the road.

Some scary comments here. The only place that level matters in your trailer is your fridge and it's the only part of your trailer that is guaranteed to be leveled to itself, best way to level your unit is to either put a level in your freezer or calibrate that thing when your freezer is level. The freezers the best flat spot in a gas absorption fridge
Jerald, I pick up a 2019 Keystone Montana 3120RL on Friday. The 5th wheel has self-leveling jacks. Would you say that the self-leveling system in the 5th wheel is the same as the device you showcased, and would it be overkill to have both?
Yes I think it would be overkill. Some people use it to try and find the most level spot before they use the self leveling jacks, and there would be no need for the red Anderson Levelers for your setup.
I have seen that the automatic leveling systems can be inaccurate. So maybe not overkill if your system dose not do a good job for you. Check your system with a level and gain confidence first???
I have the self leveler that fails often lol. Until I found out you can't be more than 2 degrees out of level or will get an error. Think I will get those Anderson levels to get me close before I drop the jacks. Thanks for the great videos!

I have the same one, whenever I change batteries it saves the settings. So no reprogramming needed. Love this unit! Works really well with the Anderson levelers he talks about.
I realize excessive use of the leveling jacks can be bad (is) for them, but say I upgrade to a heavier duty stabilizing jack. At that point if I had to lift one side just a few degrees would that be ok? For example my trailer is aprox #8,000gross and was thinking of either upgrading to #5,000 or #7,500 jacks. I have already bent the junk tin can jacks that came on mine. I am going to buy the strongest ones I can find and install them. I was only leveling when mine bent right near the top pivot. I was already up on some 2x6's and just wanted to shift it a few degrees to get the trailer dead level.
I usually leave it off until we get where we are going and then I just turn it on to level and then turn it back off. It just saves a little battery that way.
The first one we bought was a rare faulty one. They were very helpful and prompt in sending me a replacement. If it’s mounted right I haven’t seen any issues with ours.
I've have this issue with my unit. I have an original levelmate and battery life sux. Even though the unit I purchased was less than 6 months old they wouldn't offer a discount to upgrade to a new unit with a switch so I'm stuck with a battery hog and the need to recalibrate every battery change. I'm not a happy camper. (pun intended). As far as I'm concerned I'm not pleased with their customer service.
Chipper M if your really stuck with it, you might consider making an auxiliary battery power supply to the unit. Or check what the voltage is that it runs on and use a 12v transformer to plug into it to run off the camper power if it less or more than 12v. get that voltage transformer. Just a thought.
I use a 4’ level I use on the frame and the floor of the RV and pull up on the leveling blocks until I get the side to side level exactly where I like it then I disconnect the truck and use the level again to find level front to back. It takes time that way but getting it done right is key.
Jerrod, quick question.... when you pull into your site, do you put the Anderson Levelers or blocks in place, then extend all slides, and THEN use the LMPro app to find zero. Sounds like a silly question. I just bought the LMPro and have not set it up yet. Thanks. Safe Travels. BG
We pull in and get close to where we want to be sitting. We check the level of the rig at that point. If it needs to go up on the Anderson levels that is when we use those. The slide is still in at this point. We use the app to figure out where level is by pulling up on the Anderson levels. Once we are level side to side we chalk up the tires and then start to disconnect from the truck. Then we level front to back. Once we are completely level we connect sewer hose, water, and electrical. Then we are ready to open the slide and finish setting up with stabilizers. Hope this helps!
Friends of ours have a Monaco coach. Their directions say to extend the slides then level. But, they have automatic levelers. The directions for my Lance trailer say to level, stabilize, then extend the slides.
Once you mount it to the wall you go around with a level, I used a 4’ level every where I could check and level the RV. Once you have the RV level to how you would like it, go into the settings of the level mate pro app and press the set level (it calibrates it) it will then remember that position in the future as perfectly level. You have to set level on your Rv the fist time and then it remembers it for the next time you open the app.
For the price of that Bluetooth levelling system the LEAST they could’ve done was program an auto-off. Is it just me or is the rv industry a rip off? Shop around carefully and you can easily save thousands of dollars. Not every distributor will soak you for wanting to have fun. All the best folks, hope your day is phenomenal

bro, calibrate it before installing. because level is level. its best to do it on something easy like a level concrete surface first, before installing it inside trailer
Pro Tip: Level the RV with all the slides deployed. Then retract all the slides. Now set the Level Mate Pro so that is level. Now you can set your rig where it needs to be and when you deploy the slides it won’t throw it out of level.
Really, I heard him say level with a board, stacking block, or Andersen levelers and he just told us what works for him. Pick whichever works for you but dont say he didnt mention other ways.
The LevelMate Pro weights under 3 oz. You can mount it securely with a couple of large Command strips. Just wipe down the mounting surfaces with rubbing alcohol and let dry before applying the strips.

Do i need the wedges on both sides of the rig
I use a BAL leveler and the Camco triangle bubble level on the tongue to level my pop up. Great if you have single axle
What if you don't have a helper; can you pull up the level and then put the parking brake on and run out and put the chocks in?

We almost always unhook unless its just a stop for a night to sleep on level ground.

I have already bent the junk tin can jacks that came on mine. I am going to buy the strongest ones I can find and install them. I was only leveling when mine bent right near the top pivot. I was already up on some 2x6's and just wanted to shift it a few degrees to get the trailer dead level.

I usually leave it off until we get where we are going and then I just turn it on to level and then turn it back off. It just saves a little battery that way.

We would use the level mate pro for any rig that doesn’t have auto leveling installed on it, it just makes it easy to level.
Where did you get and/or what are the black rubber mats that are placed under the Anderson levelers?
When we bought ours they came with them. We haven’t used them to much I think just when we were on wet grass one time when they were sliding.
Would this system work for a solo person leveling their trailer? (Roll up on part A, Parking brake, get out and put part B in)

That would be nice but I don't have one of those and am looking for how to do it with pretty much nothing but a bubble level. Is this possible?
Yes we used a bubble level for the first year and half we had our Rig. It might take a little longer but gets the job done
I have heard/read that the Level Mate Pro constantly needs to be re-calibrated making it less useful. Has anyone experienced that issue?
The first one we bought was a rare faulty one. They were very helpful and prompt in sending me a replacement. If it’s mounted right I haven’t seen any issues with ours.
I've have this issue with my unit. I have an original levelmate and battery life sux. Even though the unit I purchased was less than 6 months old they wouldn't offer a discount to upgrade to a new unit with a switch so I'm stuck with a battery hog and the need to recalibrate every battery change. I'm not a happy camper. (pun intended). As far as I'm concerned I'm not pleased with their customer service.
Chipper M if your really stuck with it, you might consider making an auxiliary battery power supply to the unit. Or check what the voltage is that it runs on and use a 12v transformer to plug into it to run off the camper power if it less or more than 12v. get that voltage transformer. Just a thought.
How do you level your rig the first time?
I use a 4’ level I use on the frame and the floor of the RV and pull up on the leveling blocks until I get the side to side level exactly where I like it then I disconnect the truck and use the level again to find level front to back. It takes time that way but getting it done right is key.
What if your phone is a couple of years old,,does it work on them??

We calibrated it with our slide out but when we park our slide is in to determine if the rig is level.
So you ad the width of the slide then measure the length?
No don’t add the width of the slide in the app.

Yes! We have to recalibrate every once and a while like we did today but still are using it every time I setup.
If leveling is so important, why doesn't the RV manufacturer build it in the vehicle, as a gauge, for example?

The great thing about it is, it uses Bluetooth, no cell service or wifi needed.

Jerrod, quick question.... when you pull into your site, do you put the Anderson Levelers or blocks in place, then extend all slides, and THEN use the LMPro app to find zero. Sounds like a silly question. I just bought the LMPro and have not set it up yet. Thanks. Safe Travels. BG
We pull in and get close to where we want to be sitting. We check the level of the rig at that point. If it needs to go up on the Anderson levels that is when we use those. The slide is still in at this point. We use the app to figure out where level is by pulling up on the Anderson levels. Once we are level side to side we chalk up the tires and then start to disconnect from the truck. Then we level front to back. Once we are completely level we connect sewer hose, water, and electrical. Then we are ready to open the slide and finish setting up with stabilizers. Hope this helps!

All About RV's but if you level with the slides in wouldn’t the level be thrown off when the weight of the slide/s is hanging off the side?
Friends of ours have a Monaco coach. Their directions say to extend the slides then level. But, they have automatic levelers. The directions for my Lance trailer say to level, stabilize, then extend the slides.

How is that level? You didn't show how you mounted that and it would show you are level....if you mount it at an angle wouldn't that throw it off?
Once you mount it to the wall you go around with a level, I used a 4’ level every where I could check and level the RV. Once you have the RV level to how you would like it, go into the settings of the level mate pro app and press the set level (it calibrates it) it will then remember that position in the future as perfectly level. You have to set level on your Rv the fist time and then it remembers it for the next time you open the app.
For the price of that Bluetooth levelling system the LEAST they could’ve done was program an auto-off. Is it just me or is the rv industry a rip off? Shop around carefully and you can easily save thousands of dollars. Not every distributor will soak you for wanting to have fun. All the best folks, hope your day is phenomenal

bro, calibrate it before installing. because level is level. its best to do it on something easy like a level concrete surface first, before installing it inside trailer
The video should say how to level your trailer for over 300$.
Pro Tip: Level the RV with all the slides deployed. Then retract all the slides. Now set the Level Mate Pro so that is level. Now you can set your rig where it needs to be and when you deploy the slides it won’t throw it out of level.
This was just an advertisement for wheel levels and some device you put in your RV. Nothing about leveling without them.
Really, I heard him say level with a board, stacking block, or Andersen levelers and he just told us what works for him. Pick whichever works for you but dont say he didnt mention other ways.

The LevelMate Pro weights under 3 oz. You can mount it securely with a couple of large Command strips. Just wipe down the mounting surfaces with rubbing alcohol and let dry before applying the strips.
