    We made a 2023 updated version of this video! It includes how to use Auto-Level, electric jacks, and other things not common in 2019.

    This is SUCH a well made, thorough, clear, easy to understand video. Most well-made tutorial I’ve seen in a long time! I feel like I actually understand what I’m doing now. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! 🙏

    Good man Octavio! I bought a second hand travel trailer and just realized ive done it all wrong!! :) I used the stabilizers as levelling jacks!!

    He forgot to mention, your stabilizer jacks should only be deployed between 30% & 70% of maximum extension to maintain the most solid stabilization possible. If your stabs need to go further than 70%, make sure and put blocks under your stabs to keep maximum stab ext under 70% extension. Also, on single axle trailers using up to a 15" wheel, your best option is using a BAL Leveler.

      Good point. I tell my wife they stabs should have a diamond shape more or less.

      @ Neil.. thanks for the extra info on the extension of jacks. I've lifted and extended them too far already and we've only been out two trips with our RV. Sadly first timers mistakes but I've learned from them already.

      Good point. It's also better to put the slide out, then stabilize. The side with the slide will put more weight on this jacks.

    I would LOVE to see some of these video out in the wild.. like at a campground, or an RV park in grass etc... something other than a decent flat concrete surface.

    For RVs with tandem axle...I reccomend X-CHOCKS to prevent RV from Rolling and also to pull brake pin out and have brakes full on. Camper will not roll away. We have X-CHOCKS or our Roo...the wheels will not turn when X-CHOCKS are deployed.

    The leveling explication was good but he fell way short explaining stabilization.
    He didn’t explain that you should NOT lift your camper with your stabilization (Stab) jacks because that’s the very thing that will tweak your camper causing your doors not to open/close correctly.

      I know and sadly will admit having done just that the first time out or at least the second. Not having been told directly when purchased that you don't use them for leveling at all and could damage your rig. Well I don't need any further explanation. But yeah you do NOT use the stab jacks as he calls them for leveling.

    Ok I understand all that but my entry and bedroom doors still don’t work correctly. I have to slam them to close and pull two to three times inside to close. Can you suggest something?

    Great video Octavio, question do you open the slides before you detach from your truck after chocking?

    • @TGORVCO
      @TGORVCO  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Robert, you'll want to detach it from your truck first so it is stable. If you leave it on the truck, the slides could get jammed up.
