This is a really good DM. I had not heard of this guy before, but I am very grateful to find this. Incredible cast, but truly well led by the DM. Wish there was more of this.
i am trying to see better, i think the dm is the best out of this game, the players are awful, there would be zero video without this dm tho he is not that imaginative. ya this sucks.
Kudos to David on a wonderful adventure. I liked how the players got more in to their characters as the game progressed. I’ve never watched an RPG style campaign before. This was great!
I’m trying to get back into playing dnd after about a 20 year hiatus and watching these one-shot videos has helped keep me inspired. This is among the best of them! Great job by the DM keeping the game moving . This would have taken my group about 40 hours to complete. Thanks for taking the time to put this together and put it out there! It was a great balance of role playing and action and I enjoyed what everyone contributed to it.
My friends and I started playing for the first time. I learned so much from this video. David Nett taught me a ton about battles. Deborah was a nice surprise for me loved her in True Blood. Everyone did great I was thoroughly entertained. Thank you.
hahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahh lol hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah! U like the blonde one right! hahahahalol lol lol hahahahahahahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i put this video on because i was having a hard time sleeping and i soon fell asleep. i had 2 adventure filled dreams and it seemed like i could hear the characters talking in them. the theme of the dreams was d & d for sure. one of them was even a game that i was playing in. i woke up when the credits were rolling.
I've been searching for some good gameplay of D&D on TH-cam for some time now. This is by far the best DM and cast I've ever seen on here. The girls are all awesome and their enthusiasm is infectious. I wish there was more like this! 🤩
Some of the best 5 hours of footage I've ever spent time actually watching on TH-cam. I wish there was more of this on youtube. While I game this is great to have running on my 2nd monitor.
Lol it's very easy if you have an experienced dm I played once and literally had zero problems the setup took like 5 minutes for us and it was a very fun experience
I'm just getting into dnd. This has been an amazing video. I really appreciated how well the DM did and enjoyed seeing players that had to ask questions about some of their moves so I could get a better grasp on how abilities / actions work out throughout the game. Thank you for loading this!
This is without a doubt the most fun I have had watching any D&D session here on youtube. The players personalities (and DM), both in character and out of character were extremely likeable and they're interactions with each other was a joy to watch. I actually found myself smiling while watching them. The DM's instantaneous knowledge of the rules was mind boggling to me and he was ON POINT in every situation. Bravo to all of you and a sincere thank you for an entertaining and enjoyable 5+hours of viewing. You've earned a big👍and a new subscriber here.
lol no you just never saw anything, you are familiar with DIABLO? seriously this is lame, true theatrics takes a good story with not so lame characters, sorry i am a buzz kill but a 30 year vetran to the game, actually closer to 40 year no bullshit, its actually a really cool game but you need respect to the rules and characters, these ppl. are playing it like they only saw the 80s cartoon. i got all the original books and manuals and have played thru a lot of the tsr moduales blah blah. it takes more introspective and history to create a good dungeon master/narrator/story teller.
I really appreciate the intro. We'll done. Much more engaging and entertaining that way and then getting right into the game. This is the way all of these should start in my opinion.
Brings back memories, used have a ton of books on the 2nd AD&D rule books and modules etc, When I moved to Toronto 1996, I go home for a visit 6 months later everything was gone, even hockey gear, hockey cards and comics
I just discovered this video and had to watch the whole thing. It reminded me a lot of college weekends when we would spend 6 to 8 hours gaming in Forgotten Realms on Sundays. Great game, guys!
3 days ago I had no interest in any of this. 2 days ago I watched a documentary about d&d. Yesterday I watched the whole Descent game from 2019 (about 8 hours), and now I'm kinda hooked.
May I suggest, if you are near a decent sized town, find your gaming store. Many of them offer dnd games on a weekly basis. You can show up on a Saturday or Sunday, feeling very self conscious and join a group of people feeling just like you. Show up with a character and a set of dice (a 4,6,8,10,12, and a 20 sided die). Buy the player's handbook it will show you how to create your character. Just be honest and be yourself and you will not regret it! Weaknesses are just as important as strengths. Everything is a source for a great story. I envy your beginning...your story. Hope I get to hear about it!
@@kennymonty8206 haha I live in england so finding a game is a bit tricky, but I've come up with a character I like. Got an accent and everything haha funny you should mention weaknesses, I decided my character has flatulence when hes nervous so I have a natural disadvantage when it comes to stealth. Told my mates about it and they're up for a game when the lockdown is over, so my first game might be as a DM haha. Thanks for the help and encouragement mate! 👍
@@sonny2593I grew up in the US and when I was a kid, I could only dream of what it would be like to live in England Being an American, of course, half of what I believe about England is DnD! Lol
@@kennymonty8206 it's not far off mate, we do spend a surprising amount of time in the sewers lol and most of my lifes adventures have started in a tavern 😂
@@kennymonty8206 I took for granted that the Dungeon Master had to be somebody who knew the game very well, or the most experienced player, or the best player. I have never played this game, so I have no idea how it works. Am I mistaken in my assumption?
I've been wanting to play d&d for a long time. My friends have never played before and neither have I but they chose me to be the DM and I am very excited! The DM in this is amazing! I got some great tips watching you play and make the game really fun and entertaining for your players. This was also very entertaining to watch you all did amazing!
Mark Bernarden wish you were more part of this session as it seems that your turns were quick and wish the DM increased your participation. You did say you were a nub to D&D but glad got to start.
Great gaming! Shout out to Todd Stashwick! I was with the Spokane ComedySportz improv troupe in a tournament in Los Angeles. He led a workshop called "The Beast" Fundamentally it was about being a "carnivore" by going after a scene, taking it on with all one's faculties. I shared that class with the rest of the troupe back in Spokane and it really helped me grow in the craft. Thanks, Todd!
Just restarted playing DnD 5e three months ago. Last time I played was in 3rd edition in the 1990s. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed playing. This video is a great example of how it can be played. In my case the groups I’ve played with have never had miniatures…. So combat involves more imagination. This seemed like a fun group, would be fun to watch another session of theirs.
D&D is something that I've always wanted to play, it just fascinates me. It's hard to find groups here in the Philippines though. I had a friend over a decade ago, who wanted to introduce me to it, but we never got the chance to do so.
This was a fantastic playthrough, i really loved all players and their respective characters. My only critique is that I wish Argus / Marc had more of an opportunity to impact the story. I wished that that Ranger could of helped more, but I still really loved this and the DM was amazing.
Thanks for sharing! I'll watch the full gaming over the course of a week or so. (Only watched 25 minutes). My brother was once a half-orc Paladin named Rodney Assphilizer. Major OCD and very lawful good. Hilarious but difficult work with...caused major problems within the party in module (U1, The Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh). We made it as a party with some replacements to U3-when it finally came out. Good fun and continues!
This was so good! The battles were epic, the characters' thoughtfulness and creative ideas were refreshing - at the end I was on the edge of my seat. Just as absorbing as a movie, if not more. What's so fascinating is how part of the story-telling is decided entirely by chance - the dice. Are there more with this group or some of its members?
I can't help noticing Tiff Smith is trying to push up her abilities and advantages at first (she wanna WIN this ! lol) but the DM keeps her in check and stays super civil and gentle... and precise. Real professional and excellent job, there. Although you can see he's got some of the older editions' reflexes (like having players move their turn down the initiative order etc). Not that it's bad, of course, just interesting to note.
BEST D&D on YT!!! All the other gameplays are slow and boring with no action and too much acting and looking and walking around the damn realm. KUDOS to this AMAZING dungeonmaster and his crew!!!!
Deborah is so wonderful, I love her acting, and she just seems really down to earth and someone I'd hang out with. I'd love to join a game of D&D with her.
As I'm listening and watching, I find myself wondering why this is working so well. I've watched others that also worked well, and some that did not. I mean I can hear everyone clearly, that's a good start. I can see everyone clearly, the lighting is right. The players are good communicators, that's clear enough. But, I can't help feeling there's something more to it that I'm not perceiving. Maybe it's the support folks, the sound people, lighting people, director, writers? Not sure, and sorry to be so analytical about it, I can't help but be curious.
I think the DM is what makes it work so well. He doesn’t just say “you missed”, he gives details, “the soldier is surprisingly fast, and blocks your axe” or “the soldier crumples, and you ride him to the ground.” He is a true story teller, which makes the players buy in more.
Now THIS is a group I would love to play with...they take the game and their characters seriously...but also have fun together. Something alot of people I see play have trouble doing....usually too silly or rule nazi's. Great job guys.
I just started the video, but I'm saddened to see absolutely no option for captions. I'm hard of hearing and have watched similar videos from much smaller channels that offer at least auto generated captions. I will still watch, but please add captions for my fellow hard of hearing watchers.
This is great, but frustrating to watch. Marc clearly needs some assistance with his character's abilities, and the DM should have done something to help him out instead of ignoring him. Even a 1st level Ranger would have more than +3 to hit.
Exactly, i mean, i dont know sh*t about DnD, but my gamer instinct was telling me that the Ranger wasn't using his full potential But this is still fun to watch though
Always been curious about D&D. It is what I thought it was. Would love to play but due to not having friends that are into board games or free time I'll have fun watching others play and lurking on the D&D subreddit. Awesome game.
This video is old 1 year now, and here i see comments that are like 2 weeks old or some are 22 hours old, D&D will never die, i am a begginer and i don't know almost nothing, i want to learn to play it and to get the game, but i am only 14 year old lmao i need a teacher
You don’t need a teacher. Just get some books and teach yourself. A lot of free stuff on the internet to learn from . Pick a system( DND, Pathfinder, Savage Worlds, etc) and have fun! I am biased toward DND but I have played other systems. DND 5e is a great start, very streamlined and simple but people play different games depending on what they like. Also you can always modify the game how you like. I get lots of ideas watching others and the little things they change.
I was into D&D and played in a WHOLE different time! (I'm old as dirt) in the early 70s right when the game came out ...I had the original while box version with the 3 or 4 books and dice in the box. this was WAY before it was hip to be a NERD...LOL....I couldn't have even imaged having 3 really cute girls playing D&D with us in our geeky group of friends.....things have really changed!...LOL
"All great adventures begin in an Inn." - Every DM ever. "All great adventures happen almost entirely in an Inn." - This DM. It surprises me that, with as much money as these guys have (a couple of them being pretty big time TV/film stars and such), they didn't have a battle mat or maybe even a 3D printed Inn. I have both and I'm just this guy, you know? Anyway, I think I'm having just as much fun watching this group play as they are having playing.
I can see that the players have notebooks, and graphs and plenty of notes from even before they begin. What is all that about? What is there in those notebooks?
took me 25min to look at the description to realise that is Todd! I don't watch tv so had no idea they were actors, thought they were just some random friends getting together for a d&d game :)
There are 3 essential pillars of DND adventures: exploration , combat and social interaction. I like it best when all 3 are in equal amounts but everyone is different and certain adventures lean towards one aspect more than the others. DND is up to you and your friends’ imagination. Just have fun. As a beginner you will make mistakes . I’m not an expert but I have played it several times and I still make mistakes. No worries. You live and you learn.
This is the first time i have ever watched a D&D match and i am not disapointed

Holy shite mate!!
Thank you for your service.
Wow! I need to know more about the person willing to do timestamps this detailed!
@@blueflowers151do u know any better videos cause im starting ti get bored of this ine after an hour in
@@CameronClarke-pv5upYall are wack. This was fun asf to watch.
The hardest part of watching people gaming and have fun is I then want to be part of that game and join in the fun.
This.
I want d and d to play and I’m only 11 and it seems really fun
I just started playing DnD, I’m already in love with it
It's amazing pal. I wonder how I didn't find it earlier.
I love it too
I dont have anyone in my life to play it with
@@kichan3353 Well you can try going online like Roll20 , Fantasy Grounds, etc. It’s not ideal but you can make some online friends.
It's a goddamn rabbit hole, so much content
Kudos to David on a wonderful adventure. I liked how the players got more in to their characters as the game progressed. I’ve never watched an RPG style campaign before. This was great!
Look up critical role. Deborah ann woll was a guest character on the show
I’m trying to get back into playing dnd after about a 20 year hiatus and watching these one-shot videos has helped keep me inspired.
Thank you.
I like how everytime Deborah(mother) takes an action the DM is like "that's amazing". She really understands what she is doing, impressive.
hahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahh lol hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah! U like the blonde one right! hahahahalol lol lol hahahahahahahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I literally learned how to play DnD from this very video. It's THE best tutorial without it being a straight tutorial if that makes sense.
i put this video on because i was having a hard time sleeping and i soon fell asleep. i had 2 adventure filled dreams and it seemed like i could hear the characters talking in them. the theme of the dreams was d & d for sure. one of them was even a game that i was playing in. i woke up when the credits were rolling.
That’s cool how you can dream like that
I dream like that too.
I dream like that too, depending on what I was listening to before sleeping.
Now I have to sleep too DnD videos for cool dreams
I've been searching for some good gameplay of D&D on TH-cam for some time now. This is by far the best DM and cast I've ever seen on here. The girls are all awesome and their enthusiasm is infectious. I wish there was more like this! 🤩
Have you seen Relics & Rarities?
@@3nertiaNo, I've not heard of that. I'll look into it. Thanks!
@@ashig88 My pleasure! Enjoy!
Definitely recommend relics and rarities, shame it stopped
Some of the best 5 hours of footage I've ever spent time actually watching on TH-cam. I wish there was more of this on youtube. While I game this is great to have running on my 2nd monitor.
I’ve never played dnd but it’s seems pretty fun
Same always wanted to but never learned
It is very fun! Just try it.
Same i didnt understand it but watching game play helps me learn
@@crochetallday9993 i kinda want to play too, but it's expensive
Lol it's very easy if you have an experienced dm I played once and literally had zero problems the setup took like 5 minutes for us and it was a very fun experience
I'm just getting into dnd. This has been an amazing video. I really appreciated how well the DM did and enjoyed seeing players that had to ask questions about some of their moves so I could get a better grasp on how abilities / actions work out throughout the game. Thank you for loading this!
I laughed, I cried, I immediately went on Amazon to look up prices of dice sets. 😆😆😆🤣
The Orc was sooo cool and badass, i kept imaging the scene in my head, its soo awesome
Orc is my favorite too
You know, if they ever make a D&D TV Show or Movie, then you have some of the cast right here
There are movies, but a good one is under progress for 2021 release. Also games like Baldurs Gate III is dnd environment
Critical Role is making one. It was funded by the fans and it was the largest gofundme for media ever.
Harmons quest, look it up. It’s DND but a little comedy to it and some of the story they animate it
lol no you just never saw anything, you are familiar with DIABLO? seriously this is lame, true theatrics takes a good story with not so lame characters, sorry i am a buzz kill but a 30 year vetran to the game, actually closer to 40 year no bullshit, its actually a really cool game but you need respect to the rules and characters, these ppl. are playing it like they only saw the 80s cartoon. i got all the original books and manuals and have played thru a lot of the tsr moduales blah blah. it takes more introspective and history to create a good dungeon master/narrator/story teller.
Absolutely amazing. Haven't been so sucked in by the cast and world of a one-shot like this in a long time. Great stuff.
Great adventure. Excellent example of DM'ing. Thanks for letting us go along for the ride.
Ann Woll is doing a great job helping the DM to move it forward but still remaining a player.. 👍🏼 ❤
I really appreciate the intro. We'll done. Much more engaging and entertaining that way and then getting right into the game. This is the way all of these should start in my opinion.
I just asked my dad if he can teach me how to play DnD. It seems really fun, I love making my own characters and roleplaying with them
I love how they really bring their characters to life, ulca is obviously everyone’s favorite lol
You misspelled orc
I love how at 1:07:28 Half-Orc man (forgot his name already) offers the girl a cookie. It had me dying.
I recognize Mrz. Woll of course. Always appreciate her in anything.
She's fantastic. Definitively a "dream team" pick for celebrity DnD.
Loved watching this, great mix of personalities and DM was phenomenal.
Brings back memories, used have a ton of books on the 2nd AD&D rule books and modules etc, When I moved to Toronto 1996, I go home for a visit 6 months later everything was gone, even hockey gear, hockey cards and comics
Oof
Absolutely loved all the lotr references. Amazing!
I just discovered this video and had to watch the whole thing. It reminded me a lot of college weekends when we would spend 6 to 8 hours gaming in Forgotten Realms on Sundays. Great game, guys!
This needs more views and comments. Good stuff!
Hands down the best DM I have ever seen!
I came to watch a snippet of D&D to see how it works, and I stayed for the whole show! Very inspiring.
I watched this entire adventure! Absolutely fabulous. Wonderful cast and so fun to watch!! Great job everyone!
@@sonny2593I grew up in the US and when I was a kid, I could only dream of what it would be like to live in England
Being an American, of course, half of what I believe about England is DnD!
My first DnD I watched and it's so good others on YT struggle to compete.
Used to play D&D with my son years ago we both loved it, would like to get back into the game 😊
Never played but seriously thinking about it. Trying to learn as much as I can.
Yooo this DM looks like he's having a great time!
I’m only disappointed that she didn’t call the walker talker a rocky talky
I've been wanting to play d&d for a long time. My friends have never played before and neither have I but they chose me to be the DM and I am very excited! The DM in this is amazing! I got some great tips watching you play and make the game really fun and entertaining for your players. This was also very entertaining to watch you all did amazing!
What a great DM and cast! Imagine trying to make such an epic story into a one-shot. This took skill and some wonderful synergy from the group.
Best damn DM!!!!
3:55:00 All this time and no one is going to point out she said “we can Wookiee it”. More people had to think that was a great line? Anyone?
D&D is something that I've always wanted to play, it just fascinates me.
It's hard to find groups here in the Philippines though.
I had a friend over a decade ago, who wanted to introduce me to it, but we never got the chance to do so.
This was a fantastic playthrough, i really loved all players and their respective characters. My only critique is that I wish Argus / Marc had more of an opportunity to impact the story. I wished that that Ranger could of helped more, but I still really loved this and the DM was amazing.
I WOULD LOVE to play with this group.
Ohhhh, I like that the camera moves or changing cameras instead of frames
Thanks for sharing! I'll watch the full gaming over the course of a week or so. (Only watched 25 minutes). My brother was once a half-orc Paladin named Rodney Assphilizer. Major OCD and very lawful good. Hilarious but difficult work with...caused major problems within the party in module (U1, The Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh). We made it as a party with some replacements to U3-when it finally came out. Good fun and continues!
These people are so nice! You 're so lucky to play with each other. Greetings from 🇬🇷
Great fuckin DM, great chemistry between the group. We want more. Seriously this DM is top tier, why have I not heard of him before?
This was the most amazing thing I have ever seen! Thank you for motivating me to get in D&D
Yhea true ... the acting endlessly suck.
Finna use this as training for being a dungeon master when my d&d kit comes in.
I would love to see the same group with the same dm do more campaigns
Hubby and I have been watching and learning for almost 4 hours. I think we are hooked. Lol
OMG I love Deborah! and the character she created! hahahah Great story, thank you!
Deborah is so wonderful, I love her acting, and she just seems really down to earth and someone I'd hang out with. I'd love to join a game of D&D with her.
Not disappointed at all. You are my favorite DM.
I the it is the Fiend Folio on the table! Lol
Yeah its good isn't it, having charismatic actors who are confident, creative good at improv will help! Ann Woll is really famous!
My first time actually watching a D&D game. This is dope.
Just a few minutes in and I already like this group, DM and players. Good chem, good char immersion.
This is great, but frustrating to watch. Marc clearly needs some assistance with his character's abilities, and the DM should have done something to help him out instead of ignoring him. Even a 1st level Ranger would have more than +3 to hit.
Exactly, i mean, i dont know sh*t about DnD, but my gamer instinct was telling me that the Ranger wasn't using his full potential
But this is still fun to watch though
Always been curious about D&D. It is what I thought it was. Would love to play but due to not having friends that are into board games or free time I'll have fun watching others play and lurking on the D&D subreddit. Awesome game.
This was amazing! I was in the whole way!
HUge Marc Berndardin fan. seeing him opposite the great deborah ann woll makes me so happy.
Holy Tiffany Smith! Absolutely beautiful!
This was AMAZING!
I started playing a year ago with my friend max and his cousin. I am just refreshing my memory before I join a campaign with my friends.
I got hooked with the great character intros!
I need friends like this to play with.
Watching d and d and playing pathfinder kingmaker..
Relaxing.
They did good. Wish people would play d and d with me..
I can see that the players have notebooks, and graphs and plenty of notes from even before they begin. What is all that about? What is there in those notebooks?
Character background, special skills, you also use it to keep track of things used,,hit points, items gained, notes on the quest, mystery, macguffin.
I just noticed something THERE ARE NO SNACKS OR CHEESE PUFFS
OR PIZZA
Best one shot I've ever seen!
This is what I used to do with my classmates back in elementary school. Its so wholesome and intense at the same time !
where do i find more content like this pls? it feels like theres only like 5 other top quality videos like this on the entirity of youtube.
Critical Role? Dimension 20? Penny Arcade? Those are the three top tier channels that have DnD content like this.
Man I used to play 2nd edition back in the 80's alot of fun.
Only just seen this but nice to see that many of the group are in shows of their own.
Im not finished with this one.... but i need more
took me 25min to look at the description to realise that is Todd! I don't watch tv so had no idea they were actors, thought they were just some random friends getting together for a d&d game :)
0:23 What's the piece of the music's name? It sounds like Game of Thrones.
very good session! Creative players, reactive DM and no one tried to troll the OS.
Thanks for sharing this. I run different adventures but you played it well sir and made it interesting.
I really enjoyed it, thanks.
I have watch this many times love it
Im trying to start to play but I just can't get my head around it
Same here 😫 Maybe we are the type of ppl who cant really understand this via theory. So many questions!
Same here, bit i think best way is to play. First time was even a bit awkward for me.
Did I knowingly put on a 6 hour video of DnD? Yes. Yes I did.
I never heard of this game
But damn 5 hours to play 1 game??!! Its probably very complicated to get into
never play this game but I'm interested is it okay to play this by two people?
in my opinion, 4 players and a Dm/Gm is the optimal composition. but yes you can play it with two people it just won't be as good.
