I love the nerdiness of Ryan's presentation and how attentive Emily was the whole way through. My wife probably would've fallen asleep after Ginwoo. You two are hilarious, more of this please.
Here's a bit of context around the difference between park and street. Back in the day, surfer skaters would skate in empty pools which permeated into skate park designs, so the focus of park is originally developing a routine where skaters flow seamlessly between tricks, similar to a surfer riding consecutive waves. Street is more focused on the daredevil stunts such as dropping stairs and grinding rails, so skaters must do difficult tricks but have in return a bit more space to ride and prepare back and forth in the space instead of the turns required on a park. Nowadays both categories may be judged similarly but the strategies to ride in each space will depend of the obstacles and ramps in each space. I hope this helps!
Not faulting the lack of knowledge cuz' a lot of tricks can look similar in skateboarding. But I found it funny the Chris Joslin's section where there was a comparation to kickflip that turned around vs nollie BS heel down the stairs. It's like comparing a supermarket cake with custom made wedding cake, both give you a lot of calories and that is where similarities end.
I feel like if your wife would watch Lizzie Armanto's journey to the Olympics and about her injurry before Tokyo 2020. Or introduce her to the always bright in personality Bryce Wettsteinn she gona warm up to the sport very fast.
Y'all kinda lost me at the analogies! Also, contests were a HUGE part of the 1980's skateboarding scene. If you wanted to be a pro rider with your own model, you had to out there placing top 16.
1980s contests were mainly vert / bowls with some freestyle events thrown in - agreed these were important for making it as a pro in this era, but modern street skating was still in its infancy then
I don’t have a channel on TH-cam but after watching this video I think I can do it. You come across so mater of fact when you are not even close to being right. You come across like you know so much about “skateboarding the sport” but clearly you know more about “skateboarding the scene”and the difference between the two is the 5 colored rings. Olympics skating is what makes this a sport. I appreciate you putting all the information out there and for someone who is completely cut off from skateboarding you probably came across as a helpful. So much misinformation and opinions it is mind blowing. I was just looking for some skateboarding practice videos and stumbled upon the show and man I am almost offended on some of your comments. I am Team USA all day but you got to understand that the Japanese skaters are treating skateboarding as a sport thats why they are not all in the streets and dropping video parts. You can have the best video parts in the world and not win a contest and especially this contest. I think the top spots are going to end up going to the skater with the most heart. So I think its not going to be a Japanese skater this year. Also, just because the Olympics were held in 21 they are still considered the 2020 Olympics. The one thing I do agree with you on this was the winner, One of the Canadians or one of the Brazilians for the top three
I think the only skater in the Olympics I haven't seen a part for is Ginwoo and that's okay he's still young. Maybe hold off on the channel before you humiliate yourself more
Super impressed by this whole presentation. Great crash course for beginners and people like me who usually ignore contest skating.

This is really cool. Anytime someone makes a presentation its big business. Ya'll's dynamic is pretty cool too. Thanks for pushing the category.

Marty Mcfly invented skateboarding in 1955. Got to know your history.

This whole video was very well done. Decenzos bringing it home tho
I like how she openly says how much she feels like you make her sit through this, but she genuinely seems interested. Take notes ladies.

I want to learn late flips now just so I can tell my friends I can do “delayed kickflips” 😂
"delayed kickflip" is a properly done late flip - sounds a bit more formal 😂
