Chamorro doughnuts and sweet bread (read description below)

  • Hello and Hafa adai everyone today I'm taking it all the way back to my childhood with these chamorro doughnuts and sweet bread... it's the easiest doughnut and bread recipe from ingredients to labor but yet so delicious and moist... I absolutely love them and they are lactose free so my little one can enjoy them as well...
    ingredients for
    8 to 10 twist doughnuts or 9 inch round pan of sweet bread:
    -3/4 c warm water 110 degrees
    -1pkg (0.25 or 1/4 oz) of instant fast-acting or active dry yeast
    note: if using fast acting rapid rise yeast do not allow your dough to rise more than half the way after forming doughnuts or bread rolls or your dough will become very oily after cooking
    -2 tbsp of crisco
    -1/3 cup sugar
    -1/2tsp vanilla extract
    -1 1/4 to 13/4 cups of all purpose flour
    -1/4 tsp salt
    doughnut coating
    -4 tbsp white granulated sugar
    -2 tbsp brown sugar
    -1 tsp cinnamon
    bread toppings
    -1tbs butter or margin use vegan margarine to keep it completely lactose free
    -white granulated sugar to taste
    (leave out sugar to use as a savory side)
    double all ingredients for double the amounts of doughnuts or bread
    now enjoy...
    preferred ingredients:
    all purpose flour Gold Label
    -oil for deep frying - vegetable
    -yeast-rapid rise fast acting
