i remember reading a quote from Paul Morphy a very young chess prodigy b4 world fame. something like, or para quote "Mastering chess is a waste of time" so, whether its Pride, or Sorrow, much thought goes into it.
He could have tried Bc6 or Bd5 here. If black does not create an escape for the K now (or play Qf4 in case of Bd5) he is finished: - after Bc6 white threatens to just capture the rook with Qxf8+, and after Kxf8, Re8++ is mate - after Bd5 white threatens to play Qxf7+, then if Rxf7 Re8++ is mate, and if Kh8 Qxg8++ is mate
@Martin, in case you don’t see what Franek means, if white takes the knight then black Bh2+. White has to then move the king, and black takes white’s queen with Rxd5.
Brutal Bob Morphy with another Beautiful mate ! Carlini is an escape artist so to snipe him in the middle of the board is impressive !! ( I’m aware it’s Morphy Bob )

0:46 I would never accept the sloppy way that the black pieces are initially placed (when i played white). The h7-pawn is almost on h6 and also the d7-pawn, the e7-pawn and the Q are not properly placed. It looks very messy. It might also be a good idea to put the board right : a1 should be on white's left side, but they put the board wrong.
Carlini was never to be underestimated but I feel like I am seeing him grow stronger over time too. Great game!
@4:52 Carl can never turn down a free pawn 😅 i would’ve played Qb6

At 6:10 I was thinking Ng3 by black then Bxg3 Bxg3, double attack on white rook.
Wow how’s a kings gambit player gonna allow Qh4+ on move 4?
What a game by both !
Great play, really enjoy it
When Carl is quiet, I think he knows that he has met a formidable foe. Great game. I enjoy watching the Great Carlin’s any time.
Damn what a game nice one Bob The Great one hates losing....badly
can't believe how quite Carl is. First time I've seen it. When he watching another game, he never shuts up.
You got it.
Peace & quiet !
I love it when Bob wins! I'm starting to enjoy the "poor sport" losing as well.
Beautiful beautiful game!
Very nice mate there!
Isnt QH4 on move 5 just winning?
who the hell's window are they playing outside of?
I just want to know if they ever found the pawn.
Greatest player of all times is Mike.
Carlini is second.
At 8:08, Carlini QE8, rook takes Queen, RE8#

Tough game!! Only a few can beat Morphy with this Tactic 🧠 Eyo Bobby Fischer where ya at ?!
Paul Morphy and Morphy Bob 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Oh shit moment at 4:11....free knight.
Not free. You lose Queen in 2 moves

@@CrazyLinguiniLegs Nice breakdown
that was a good game
